  1. WCCT Aren't those skirts similar to what Strike King uses on their spinner baits? They look almost identical. Harshman
  2. Good Luck, let me know how it turns out.
  3. Hey guys I just got done experimenting with some powder paint I recently picked up. Now i'm tryin to powder coat everything I can get my hands on, but I thought that putting it on bullet style weights for plastic fishing might be something. Tell me what you think
  4. Awesome Baits!!!!! Those bug eye spinners are unlike anything I have ever seen!!! One more question about the poision tail jigs, what kind of eye do you use? Painted on or stick on and if stick on do you use an adhesive? Thank You Harshman
  5. Just wondering what type paint you are using on your jigs. Are they dipped? I noticed your card has jigs and spinnerbaits on it how about a look at those spinners. I have been making spinner baits for a little while myself and will be making my first atempts on jigs soon, I have a poison tail mold on order for christmas and can't wait to use it. I was wondering to is you make you're own wires for the shakey head jigs or if they are a manufactured piece you add. if so where can a guy find them? thanks harshman
  6. If you want to get fancy most television sales shops sell cleaners specifically designed for these types of screens. I have a product called Monster Screen Cleaner that I got when I purchased a big screen for my house. I use it on my tv, pc screen , graph screen in my boat, my eyeglasses, etc. I've even used it on my rear view mirror inside my truck. I think it was only a few bucks and comes with a special lint free cloth that keeps from scratching your stuff. The protective stick ons sound like a great idea once you get a clear screen. Harshman
  7. I live near Troy, MO. My wife and I usually fish Mark Twain and Lake of the Ozarks. But every chance we get were fishing somebody's farm pond, down side is we usually have to travel quite a ways to the ponds we have permission to fish. If anybody in my area has a pond to fish, my gas tank would greatly appreciate it. I practice catch and release only. Unless you are wanting a mess of crappie for supper then that is a different story
  8. I've looked for the same type skirts before and have had little sucess. I finally borke down and purschased Terminator Skirts themselves. My local BPS has them in a 3 pack for around $2 -$3 dollars depending on colors and styles. I recently lucked out at my local Wal-Mart and found a whole bunch on clearance. Only $.50 for a 2 pack. Bought all they had. Good Luck Harshman
  9. Nice Fish!!!!! I'm a firm believer that if you can with stand mother nature and her weather tantrums she'll reward you every once and a while. Harshman
  10. 6lbs 2oz on a Luckycraft Lipless Crank 6lbs 7oz on a Spro Bronzeye Black harshman
  11. Quote: does anyone feel like me about braid Yes me I don't use braid. My openion you don't need a winch cable to land a 5 pound fish. You're right you don't need a winch for the fish you need it for the 50 pounds of vegatation stuck on you line when you get inot the nasty spots bass live. harshman
  12. And whatever you get for the love of Hand helds get COLOR!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D You don't have a black and white tv any more do you???? :-? :-? :-?
  13. I just bought a Lowrance IFinder H2OC at BPS for $269 plus a Navtronics USA SD Card that covers the entire USA with Hot Spots Maps for additional $125. I really like this unit. It has a larger screen than most I looked at and it uses 16 satelites vs. 12 or 13 like other brands. It is water proof and floats. Feels great in your hand easy to use buttons and hold a signal very well without an external antenna. I couldn't understand spending more for a Garmin in the same category and having to spend $100 more :-? I love the maps as well, instead of using a region specific card that only maps out lakes that i would never fish for more money. Never figured out how they could charge more for a regional map that basically plots out farm ponds when the USA card covers all lakes in the Hot Spots paper map brand which would be lakes that I can fish any way. Good Luck harshman
  14. Congrats on your new PB. No better feeling than pulling it that fish. Harshman
  15. Thanks Lightnin, Daniel if you noticed she is using the ancient chinese secret of "holdthefishout" which is a magical trick handed down many generations to cause the fish to grow, but only in pictures
  16. Personally I use an airbrush and add colors I like then cover the body in an epoxy. The epoxy will usually help the bait from chipping off the otherwise vunerable paint. It also gives the bait very shinny apperance. Good Luck Harshman

Here are a few of my home grown creations. I reecntly got a wood lathe at a yard sale and decided to take my lure making to a new level. I have been making spinnerbaits for a couple of years and now plugs. Rumor has it that santa is getting me jig making materials for christmas. Any suggestions on shape or colors would be helpful. I'm realize these are limited baits on fishing conditions and I usually don't fish top water much so any help would be great.
  18. Thanks Guys. Matt we usually have very colorful bass in my area. I guess water conditions allow for very healthy fish.
  19. Hey guys just wanted to share my PB 6lb 2oz Caught in Missouri earlier this NOV on a rat-l-trap and here's one my wife caught 30 min. earlier on a jig that went over 5lb By the way her PB is over 8lbs :) She was also the 7000th member to join
  20. 7000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
  21. thanks GMAN I'm getting a bundle of materials for making jigs for christmas and can't wait to start making them
  22. GMAN What do you use to attach the fiber guard to the bait? Some type of glue? What do you use to fill the hole until you install the fiber guard or do you drill it out after using the PRO TEC?
  23. I am wanting to get into pouring my own weedless jigs and i have a few questions for you pouring experts out there: 1. What kind of paint do you use on your jig heads? 1a. If you use powder coat with heat will it melt the weed guard? 2. Do you pour the bait with the weed fiber in place or attach after painting? 3.What kind of finish do you use to protect the paint ? (if you don't use powder) I have been pouring my own spinner baits for a while now and just started recently with wood plugs and crank baits. I can't believe how addicting making you're own baits can be after you catch a couple on you're home growns. I would like to even maybe someday get into rod building but that is a monkey I can keep at bay for now. Thanks for any input guys. Jason
  24. Fishing was one of the deciding factors in me getting married, she had her own bass boat It is great to have someone who is interested in the things that I enjoy. She actually informed me on one of our first dates that if I wanted to continue to date her in the months of OCT. and NOV. that I better like deer hunting too. It is also great to see that she is a "Preffered Spender" at Bass Pro shop and not the mall, helps when the monkey acts up so that I don't have to explain my purschases, cause she'll want to use the stuff too.
  25. I live in MO and this past weekend I caught my PB in a farm pond on a lipless crank. The fish felt like I was draging in an old tire he was so cold but none the less he still went after my bait. BTW it went 6lbs 8 oz in a pond that wasn't more than a couple acres big. My wife also caught a 4lber the same day just minutes before me on the same bait. kinda where I got the idea to use that type of bait Any way farm ponds not quite done in my area i don't think they ever really shut off though unless you get ice over them.
