Thanks for the work that went into the swap guys. I have been looking forward to this for weeks. I can't wait to hear from Munkin. Is everybody gonna post what they get? I think that would be a great idea to promote our fellow tackle junkies. Harshman
  3. Roadwarrior can I get a cut of the royalities you get for every time you say Shimano or Curado in a post? ;D ;D ;D Harshman
  4. Gar-Balls if you are going to wax your motor I would reccommend using a cleaner product first to remove any previous wax and oxidation build up. Mothers and Meguiar's both make these products in either a paste or a liquid. You apply it like a wax and it will help clean the surface so the wax isn't smearing around all the junk that washing didn't remove. once you have a clean surface use a good quality wax and you're all set. I have an older Charger fish and ski that I did this on and it shines like new. Not sure what you could use on the aluminum though sorry can't help there. Have used a cleaner for alumunium cleaner called Aluma Brite that I got at my local parts house, not sure if it is safe on boats worked great on my truck box. Harshman
  5. I always fish a jig with a trailer. Everything from pork, plastic pork, single and twin tail grubs. You name it I've probally tried to use it as a trailer Harshman
  6. I love my Johnny Morris signature series reel but have had bad luck with the extreme reels. I had three of them returned before I upgraded to the JM. I haven't used the Rick Clunn version but it seems like a good reel mostly a cheaper knock off of the JM it would appear. Best part about BPS reels is if you do have trouble they have a great customer service staff for the most part. Simply return the reel within the warranty and they give you a new one no questions asked.Same for their rods, even if the damage to the item is your fault as long as it is in the warranty time frame they don't care. 7. I have to agree with the general answer... I mostly use in stained water or at night. Most of the jigs I build get rattles added to them, but can be easily removed. I am also a big fan of scent on my jig, I know this is a little off topic, but I've started using scent infused skirts and noticed my bites seem a little better. Harshman
  8. Lookin good. What are the specs on these baits. What oz. , what hook are you using, blade size, etc?
  9. I was wondering how many of you use a fluid bed when appling powder paint to your lures. Are there noticable differences in the finish of the bait when you use a fluid bed? I would also like to know if there is a way to make a home made fluid bed? Any input would be great. Thanks in advance. Harshman
  10. I use med. hitch hikers not sure if GMAN uses the same or not I'm pretty sure he does. Harshman
  11. I also agree that a medium sounds like it would work the best in your situation. Harshman
  12. Gman glad to see those shakey heads turned out great for you. And the plastics look good to. Have you been able to test out the shakey yet? I have been waiting for the weather to break to try the ones I poured. Let me know how the work. Harshman
  13. Is this going to be a unerversal rod and reel? if so I would throw 10-14 lb (mono) range depending on how nasty the areas are that you fish could also play a key factor as well. If you are fishing alot of rocks and trees I would lean more towards 14lbs myself but the 10lbs would give your baits the ability to have most of their natural movement. Personally I fish 12 and 14 on mine (mono) Harshman
  14. Cabela 90% of the time if you try any mods yourself to anything regardless of if it is a tollong motor it will void any factory warrant if they can determine work has been done to their product. Same works for cars, reels, boats. In order not to void a warranty you have to have a specific certified mechanic/serviceman perform the work. Usually staated in the warranty papers you recieve with the product if you read into them. Harshman
  15. This might sould like a dumb question but where would a "Medium Action" rod fall in to this scenerio. I realize that medium is not the action but this is exactly what it says on the rod "Medium Action". and this isn't some fly by night company it is a Berkley Rod Harshman
  16. I lucked into my rainsuit while fishing a tourney at lake of the ozarks. The local Wal-Mart there carries a FLW suit with a great jacket and bibs identical to what the FLW pros wear. I only paid $90 for the whole suit and I love it the coat espically. It is very warm in cold conditions and very comfortable in the heat. It has alot of pockets for storage and I have washed it several times without having to reactivate its rain proof abilities. This suit was hands down better than any BPS suit for half the money. Every once in a while you can find them on Ebay if your Wal-Mart doesn't carry them. I absolutely love it. Even though I'm more of a B.A.S.S. fan Harshman
  17. Those are simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harshman
  18. I saw something similar to the Bill Dance thing only the guy backed down the ramp got out of his truck and unhitched the trailer from the truck launching the trailer and all. I couldn't figure out what the hell this guy was doing , then when I realized I couldn't stop laughing. Harshman
  19. Navionics has a pretty good trade in setup. usually around June-July if their card has been updated you can send it back to them and buy the new updated one and you will get a small refund towards. Check out their website for more details. I realize this might not help right now but will help if you are thinking of getting another chip in the future.
  20. When are we going to trade? I can't wait, it's like Christmas all over again. Pleeeeeeeese, I can't wait much longer. Harshman
  21. GMAN A third method: use a portion of a weed guard ilo of the base pin and then remove it after pouring. You only have to use about a 1/3 of a weed guard to fit properly. Harshman
  22. Cabels can you explain why the rod would say medium action? I guess I've never taken the action in to account I usually look at what the rod reads and then test the amount of bend it has. I understand that all mediums are not created alike, but this one has me confused. Harshman
  23. Actually after looking at the rod I don't think Ineed to correct myself. It reads Medium Action on the rod. I am totally confused now. Harshman
  24. Sorry . I meant power just a habit to say action , all you ever see are rods advertised Med. Action or Heavy Action. etc. etc. Bad habit. I would say the action is around moderate fast to fast some where in that range. it is not spelled out on the rod I'm just going by feel after casting it a few times with a plug tied to it. Harshman
