  1. i like trackers myself, my uncle had one, my buddy has one and im in the market for one now myself. alot of people say they have bad customer service but i guess thats not as big if its used and older. other than that the older ones i believe are said to be a little to thin and not as wide as some of the more stable aluminums and glass boats. ive never had a problem. ive had a 12' john and this is a stable yacht to me lol if youve never had a bass boat im sure youd be happy with it tho. they are nice boats and they are really affordable. Ryan
  2. so basically it just a deeper hull
  3. what is a padded type hull? , im lookin at a 1997 pro team 17 is that a older 175 or the 170 heres a pic
  4. ok ive just realized the difference now, i see the 165 and the tx17 are the older models and the tx170 and tx175 are the newer models. i also see the diffrence in hull shape, the older tx17 looks more like a big john boat. so what is the advantages of the newer models and in what year did they change each model over to the new hull style?
  5. is anyone familiar with the 165/170 versions and the 175 versoins to tell me if it makes a diffrence or not. id like the 40hp if i can get it even tho most lakes in nj are 9.9hp restricted but ill get a kicker for those days. basically im lookin for someone who can say for sure either dont worry about it they are the same deal or go for the 175 because the room is way better on it.
  6. ok i finally sold my trans am and now im gonna be buying a bass boat. im gonna go with a bass tracker because i have fished on them and like them plus they seem to be the most available and affordable. probably gonna go with something between 1990 and 2000. my biggest choice is boat size and motor. do i look for a boat with a 25hp or a 40hp and my biggest choice do i go with the 165/170 TX or the 175TX. i know theres a slight difference in size, length and width but will the little bit be noticeable on the water. we have smaller lakes out biggest being like 3000 acres most of the ones i fish will be between 150 and 800 but a couple upwards of 1500. ive been seeing alot of the 170s for sale one inpiticular for sale a 1997 w/25hp merc for 4k really clean and low hours. it seems like it would be good for me but i just cant help but think ill buy the 165/170 and then wish i had gone the little bit bigger in the 175. now im fishin in a 12' john so anything will be a yaht to me but what do it do. Ryan
  7. my 2 biggest both came on the same biat a strike king chart colorado spinnerbait
  8. i havent expeirianced a day quite like that yet but my father has told me of a day he had that was crazy here in NJ. he went fishing probably 15 years ago on a rainy mothers day with a buddy from work. they hit the lake and they could do no wrong. he said the bass were insane and feeding everywhere u looked. they sat in one spot and probably cought 40 largemouth each all around 3.5-4.5lbs. one after another. they eventually went home but it was crazy and unfortuneatly the guy he was with was set on staying put but if it was his boat he would have moved to find bigger ones cause the lake they were on definatly held more. one day if i see a rainy mothers day im goin out there lol.
  9. im in the exact same boat, im lookin at either the 320,320c or the humingbird 565
  10. itll be fine for slow rolling as long as u wanna run deeper with it. if your gonna use it in real shallow water then u might wanna go with the colorado blades as someone said already. the willows will run probably 2 feet deeper then a colordo will when slow rolling. imo
  11. yeah it didnt seem to heavy, maybe the heavy has alot more weight to it. i compared it to a all star rod there of the same rating and the all star was alot heavier feeling and it was like 55 compared to 39. i cant wait to get my new reel so i can actually try it out but i think itll be good. im just lookin for someone to say weether they had a great expeiriance with it or if it was a junky rod when they used it.
  12. hey i just grabbed a new rod last night on clearance at dicks for 39 bucks. just wondering if anyone has anything good or bad to say about it. its a Shimano Clarus IM-7 6'6" medium heavy trigger rod. 10 fuji eyes. nice cork handle, seemed like a great rod for the bucks and will match with my new baitcaster on its way.
  13. it did intrest me but unfortuneatly its sold already

  15. oh well ive used mine and my friends and i can clearly see a diffrence between the two so im guessing im not in that group(i hope) anyway im gonna look into them more but i guess the eagles are a good start to chose from if nuttin else. i actually seen a nice hummingbird at dicks for 200 i likes alot
  16. i duno its a portable one and i dont like it, i dont like the clarity my friends got the 320c and i liked it when i fished on his boat maybe ill look into that one.
  17. is this one as good, if i was gonna spend an extra few bucks is the color worth it Eagle® FishEasy® 320C Color Compact Fishfinder also a member on another forum offered me a almost new garmin unit for a good price is it worth trying or is it a junker http://www.garmin.com/products/ff90/#
  18. i know here in NJ people have been doin the best with slow rollin spinnerbiats and workin jigs. the water here is in the low 40's but people are still killin em. recently they seemed to be on flats with dieing weeds which was great for pullin spinnerbiats throu but now it seems they are movein to the wintering holes in the deep water.
  19. this year was my 1st year of all out serious bass only fishing. im completely hooked and next year i plan on doin some tournaments and learning as much as possible. anyway my real thing i need to work on is working offshore structure and deep stuff. i got a cheap eagle portable depth finder from a friend but i really dont like it. anyway next year i wanna get a better one and im wondering what kind would be a good beginner fish finder for me. i dont wanna spend much more than 150 bucks. any input apprceiated. im gonna use it on my 12" john for now untill i get a bass boat. i actually was lookin at this one on sale but i dunno if its any good. 20. ehh your just fine, i got a 12ft john and me 215 and my buddy 240 both fish in it with a big battery and a ton of equiment little johns always ride low in the water dont worry about it just fish, oh and who the hell wears a pfd the whole time your fishing thats nuts and when your in motin i think apliues to gas outboards not 1mph trolling motors.
  21. dont be a wussy just do it. your only 11 life will go on if she says no believe me.
  22. if i were you i wouldnt even bring the car there at all, get a new shop they sound like a total sham and just lookin to rip you off, if they are that messed up then would you trust there work. do the header on your own its easy. get the ball joint done somewhere else and the muffler like someone else said is cheap at any cheap muffler shop. yes u can weld steel headers, they are made by welding them so what kinda sense does that make. im a pretty hardcore car guy and have done alot from headers to full motor swaps with cams and stuff. my mechanic knows i know what they are doin if i have them do sumthin i cant or dont feel like so i dont worry about them ripping me. you need to find someone new that is honest with you
  23. id ask him, im blunt with my friends if i dont like somethin i tell them. just be like dude u need to slow down and chill. hell probably say oh dont worry about it always drive like this there nuttin to worry about, then you say well just slow down anyway man no need to be goin nuts.
  24. i keep thinking about it but my gf doesnt like beards. but d**n it really does help in the cold windy weather. even when i just got my goat goin and i shave it off regardless of season my chin feels so cold and breezy
