3.4 inches and almost 1.25 ounces? So it's kind of a crankbait/small swimbait hybrid?
  2. http://www.imaginationbassin.com/gblanks.htm That is their website. Pretty weak but give them a call, you can get better information on more options. The prices listed are for lower end blanks, while they offer higher quality blanks for more money but you need to call to find out about that stuff.
  3. If line visibility is a concern you can always use a fluoro leader
  4. Anyone see #5 on Oklahoma pulling on Harvin's leg after that tackle? He has got to be the dirtiest college player I have ever seen. The guy is a thug. I watched him talk crap and hit late (and generally act like a thug) against Texas Tech when they were up a few scores and he's playing dirty again in this game. What a d

Thanks for the info bizz. Do you know how big that bluegill bait is?

Yeah, I looked at the others and was equally shocked at them.
  7. I think you can rent canoes at Riverbend.
  8. I have the Tube model which is Medium Power, Fast Action and 7' long. I use it for weightless plastics, shakyheads, flukes, and topwaters with 6 or 8lb copoly lines. I also use it with 20lb braid for fishing it in vegetation. I know most people use baitcasters and heavy line around vegetation but I have used it for small paddletails and frogs as well as shaky heads in pretty thick weeds and it has plenty of strength as long as you don't let the fish get too far into the weeds. BTW, I have it paired with a Stradic 2500

I don't know if it is Japanese. It is made by a company that I haven't heard of before, I just saw it on TW listed with the crankbaits and thought it was an extremely weird shape for a crank. It may actually be a swimbait as sometimes TW puts swimbaits with lips in the "Crankbait" category. I will most likely be at the fishing expo but I don't know if I'll be spending too much. I kind of tapped myself out after Christmas. I do need to go to Bass Pro to get a fly reel with a gift card, though. I basically just want to check out all the tackle and meet with some of the Central VA guys like you and Micro.
  10. Yes. I have used it for shaky heading around or in weeds. I usually use 20lb test with a Fintech Title Shot Jighead. I like the Title Shots because they come through vegetation much better than the average shaky head jig. I only use that tackle when I'm fishing near or in vegetation.

First of all, does this thing look goofy to anyone else? And secondly, $68.99?
  12. see my thread like two threads down.
  13. Great, I hope they get a few sales from my recommendation. Then maybe they can get a website worth a #&^#. ;D
  14. It was very funny the first time but I just watched it a second time and I was disappointed.
  15. We will see by tonight if the Big 12 was really as difficult as everyone thought it was.
  16. I would agree with that ranking.
  17. Springsteen sucks. My friend went to a concert and he said it was the worst thing he's ever done. He said it was loaded with 40-50 year olds still trying to be "cool"
  18. well, ok, but in Virginia, I don't think it could happen that way.
  19. Where's the proof behind this statement? I'll ask this question again. Why is the smoker's "freedom" to smoke more important than the non-smoker's "freedom" to not be subjected to that smoke? Why should the smoker trump the non-smoker? Because the non-smoker already has the freedom not to be subjected to smoke; they can just walk away from the smoke or refuse to patronize smoky establishments.
  20. Looks even better than I imagined. Feels great in the hand, too.
  21. I really don't think second hand smoke is that big of a deal in terms of the probability of getting cancer. MAYBE if you work in a bar or restaurant for decades....but if you are only exposed when you go out to eat every once in a while or when you go to bars for a few years when you are young then that is just paranoia. People do stupid stuff all the time, but it isn't the government's role to ban it. I'm not too fond of outlawing personal choice, even if it is about something harmful like smoking. IMO, as long as it doesn't unreasonably affect other people negatively then leave it alone.
  22. Agreed. This is America. It is the market's job to influence the business' decisions, not the government's. If enough people decide they don't like it, they can get a business to ban it once they realize they are losing money by allowing smoking. besides, in Virginia I think the rural and urban populations will greatly out vote suburbia on this...
  23. How much do they weigh and do they come in a smaller version?
  24. The split-grip extracts a little more sensitivity out of the blank, but I wouldn't say it is substantial. exactly, it would only make it a little lighter and a little more sensitive...so basically they just restyled the Premier. I agree with your point to an extent....it is definitely the same SCII blank that the Premier uses, but it looks and feels quite different (in the hand...I haven't fished one). Facelift might be a little understated; everything is different but the blank (I think anyway). If I wouldn't have known it used the SCII blank, I'd have guessed it to be a much more expensive rod. Looks do have something to do with it, but that is part of the deal. Great product launch IMHO...they will sell a bunch of these guaranteed. Yeah, I guess my problem is that I see the blank as the main and almost whole part of the rod. It is the working aspect of the rod, everything else is comfort or preference related to me (besides guides)
