  1. whatever they are, I want some.
  2. When I first started fishing it seemed like I bought every type of soft plastic they made. Now I all use are worms, senkos, tubes, and creatures. If you find a soft plastic from each one of these bait categories that you like the most, you can really clear out a lot of unnecessary baits in your tackle box. I think those are pretty much the basics, but after that you can always throw in lizards, frogs, flukes, craws, grubs, etc... btw, i include ikas in the "creature" category.
  3. yeah, it happens. The key is to just be careful and know that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. It's cliche, but it's true.
  4. Lol, i don't think I've ever heard somebody refer to Fredericksburg as "highly populated." ;D My phobia would be of diseases. I used to always think I had some sort of crazy disease when I was younger. No it doesn't happen so much, but I occasionally still think I've got some sort of life threatening illness without any evidence to suggest so... Another one would be biting popsicles and anything involving damage to fingernails (ripping fingernails off/nails going through fingernails, etc...)
  5. yeah, i agree with burley on that one too. If you are going to spend that much money, you should go to a store to actually hold the item you are thinking about purchasing. That way you can learn more about the item. Then, if you are satisfied with the product, you can search on the internet for better deals. Just make sure that you buy from a respected site. Lots of sites have reviews on their customer service, but just try to stick to the mainstream ones and you'll be fine.
  6. I fish spinnerbaits successfully with my spinning gear...
  7. www.buydig.com www.tigerdirect.com www.buy.com www.mwave.com good sites, have some awesome sales You should have threatened to call the Better Business Bureau. Probably could have made more progress that way.
  8. It is basically like having a pegged bullet weight, but easier. A pegged weight is a bullet weight that you put a toothpick into and break off and allow the wood to swell so that the weight is held in place by the pressure of the swollen toothpick. I've used Jobee hooks and they are easier and quicker than having to to get a weight and a hook out, but they seem to get snagged an awful lot. I'm not sure if that's something I'm doing or if it is just a problem with the product. Also, the hooks felt a little thin to me.
  9. Muddy, just find some Abita Beer and have your own Mardi Gras. my friend goes to school in New Orleans and their classes are cancelled for Mardi Gras all week.

Oh, I can understand why he has so many shows with walleye, it has something to do with his funny accent. ;D But seroiusly, I don't care what kind of fish he fishes for in his shows, it's just that I DON'T fish for walleyes so I don't find those segments interesting, that's all. I did see his carp segment though, that was a good episode. I also like to watch James and Dan Sura catch those big ol' muskies and pikes (they seem to fish for them more often than Al) I also like how Al tries to send a christian message at the end of the show. All in all, one of my dream fishing trips would be to go smallie fishing on a small river with both James and Al. They certainly know how to catch smallies.
  11. Anybody tried these? They look awesome!
  12. wow, that is way more money than I would ever spend on a reel! It sure is purty though.

agreed on the Lindner's Angling Edge, cabela10. That show is great. I've seen most of em. The only thing I don't like is how often they do walleye stuff. I do, however love how often they also do smallmouth shows. The Aaron Martin Show is ok(besides his laugh), it's the Scott Martin show that I didn't like. It's called The Scott Martin Challenge and he is Roland's son.

That's true, I have to do a lot of deleting as well. But still, it's better than what you get anywhere else.
  15. uh, yeah! 2004 National Champions (Div. 1-AA) hahaha. Some of our other sports are pretty good too! (Last year our baseball team beat VT 15-5) Eat that Hokies. ;D
  16. GO DUKES
  17. this is something that I've just realized. When I first started fishing I was trying to find the answer to so many questions. Because of this type of reasoning, I can learn a few things and apply it to different scenarios to find answers myself instead of having to find an answer for each scenario.
  18. I've had the same thing happen with the geese. Sometimes they make bombing runs on me. If they worked on their trajectory, I'd be in trouble. I know they're trying to do it too, they wait till the fly over me and then splooshes start happening in the water all over the place....
  19. Anyone tried Norman Fat Boy's in wood? They look like they'd work well. I have one but I haven't tried it in wood yet.

Versus is by far the best channel for fishing shows. I don't get it at school, but I have my tivo at home set to record almost all of the shows while I'm gone. That way when I go back home to visit, I can catch up on hours and hours of bass shows.
  21. just forget it troutfisher. You can't argue with people who won't respond to any of your arguments with anything other than "you're brainwashed." Arguing on the internet is dumb, no matter how hard you try, you can't win... And btw, if we went to an all out war with NK, we would destroy them. They might have a big army, but quality is better than quantity. We would destroy every country in the world except maybe China in a war and that isn't just pride, that's almost fact.
  22. Iraq does have a history of supporting terrorists. Maybe not Al-Qaeda, but plenty of other international terrorist organizations. Another reason why some European countries did not support our invasion was probably that they stood to lose billions from oil deals they had with Saddam.
  23. by what? There are also always those who want to beleive in something other than mainstream so they can feel special; like they're onto somethine secret and important. It must make you feel "special" to be right about everything and not to have given in to the "herd." But wait, you are now in the majority. You are part of a bigger herd than we are! You have been made a Hillary cheerleader! But seroiusly, I hate when people come to saying others are brainwashed when they can't refute something...It's lame. Is it worse to "beleive everything someone says" or to automatically discredit and beleive counter to what that person says? Both are irrational and unwise. Just because someone has come to a different conclusion doesn't mean they don't know the issues.
  24. forget it. :-/
