  1. Wouldn't surprise me that much. There was a 10+ caught from somewhere near Loudoun County last year.
  2. Pony Pasture is on the James River in Richmond, VA.
  3. I'm level 70 at first prestige. I could easily be third or fourth prestige by now but I've been working on some of the long term challenges so I haven't prestiged for a while. I'm working on Lightweight VI right now. Once I get that, I might prestige again.
  4. I'll just have to add this spot to the COT.
  5. The Occoquan is a good all year fishery because it is much deeper than a lot of other tributaries of the Potomac. BUT Come warm weather, I think you would be better off fishing a place like Mattawoman creek. You can drive an hour and launch way back in the creek in an idle only area so there aren't wakes to deal with and there is vegetation EVERYWHERE. I think I'd be careful with a Hobie at Pony Pasture, it is VERY rocky. You'd have to be very careful with the pedal drive flipper things.
  6. I guess the only thing I would say is that part of it for me is personal achievement. I don't value a bass caught from private water as much as a bass caught from public or pressured water. It might sound stupid but I get satisfaction if I can be successful in difficult scenarios. That's part of the whole challenge to me. Yes, I enjoy catching fish, but I enjoy being able to catch fish when others can't even more. I want to be able to succeed in any conditions, not just the easy ones. You don't get better by not challenging yourself.
  7. From in store comparisons it's got more memory than Invizx.
  8. oh no! Another member for the Hobie Gang! welcome!
  9. I have almost had that very same thing happen to me. Now I almost always remember to check the ceiling fans before I pick up my rods.
  10. white perch.
  11. Snook? This would be easier with a picture.
  12. I haven't heard a specific release date for the PS3 map pack. All I've heard is that it will be later than the xbox release.
  13. I think I would have scored higher in high school because all that stuff was fresh in my mind. I got 26.
  14. ?????, the Potomac will be 68 fairly soon...I mean the Potomac will be at temps that make bass active soon. If bass are active in both places, I don't see what the point in fishing Anna is. Nothing against Anna, the Potomac is just an awesome fishery. I'd rather fish the P'mac than any other lake in the state except for one or two. Anna is nice for the winter bass fix because it's warm but that's the only real advantage I see over anywhere else.
  15. I like my rods to balance within an inch or two of the front of the reel seat. Reel weight IS significant if you don't want to add weights to your rod to balance it out before the weight of the reel is added.
  16. water temp in the Potomac is almost 50 already. It won't take very long for it to become the same temp as Anna.
  17. Just don't eat fish from 4MR. In fact, be careful handling them. It is extremely polluted. The state has declared it "unsafe for fishing or swimming". The last time I fished there I found out the next day that there had been a sewage leak with an unknown source.
  18. My Citica E is better looking.
  19. ahahahaha What did you clean them out of?
  20. ya got me ..i see now n.v. lol no worries. Good luck on your outing anyways!
  21. It's the law. Be glad he didn't write you a ticket. You didn't have a leg to stand on. I was trying to remember the regulation for that today. If the vessel is over 16' you need a throw, correct?
  22. At the MOST I use 8lb on spinning reels. If I have to use line heavier than that I switch to baitcasters. The reason for that is spinning reels don't handle heavier line (which tends to be more coily and thicker than it's lighter counterparts) very well. I think the vast majority of experienced anglers will agree that 12 lb line and higher is better reserved for baitcasters or larger sized spinning reels. Sure, some people might be alright with using heavy mono on spinning reels but I'm almost certain they'd be happier if they tried lighter lines instead.
  23. That's what I thought but I didn't know Florida was now part of Northern Virginia. ;D Just kidding, I'm just bustin your balls.
