Did some checking on the Dodge lifetime warranty. There are quite a few stipulations to it. They require regular service to be done and documented and the only sure way to do this is to get it done at the dealership who will fill out the service record which leads to generated revenue from overpriced service. They will use the service interval charts to get out of warranty repairs. If you didn't replace that timing belt at 60K miles, and it failed at 70K, well guess what, that was negligence, and the damage to the engine isn't covered and the warranty is now void. And what about wear items such as the waterpump, exhaust, alternator, power steering pump etc. I imagine there is a stipulation on those. And the vehicle has to be brought in every 5 years for a dealer inspection, which the dealer could easily say this has been neglected and your warranty is void, the inspection has to be done within 60 days of the 5 year mark or the warranty is void. The biggest thing is it is only to the original owner and non-transferable which they are playing into the fact that most (I say 70-80%) of people only keep a new car 2-4 years and trade. Then the standard warranty would have more than sufficed and this is all just talk but makes for great marketing. You also need to take into consideration is Chrysler/Dodge even gonna be around in the next 10 years. They have been bailed out by the .gov twice and Mercedes was the latest to try and turn them around and found it was a lost cause and dumped them. Like it or not Mercedes is probably the most reliable best built cars on the road. I never thought much of them till my cousin started working at a delaership as a mechanic and was telling me how well built they are, and I have helped him work on his personal Mercedes and they are built like tanks. Get this the new warranty is 36K like all others but say you have transmission go out, which I haven't heard him talk about unless the car had 200K+, but you can buy a rebuilt trans from Mercedes and they give a 100K warranty on the rebuilt ones.

Okay, so what about Toyota Tundra's ???
Nothing really wrong with the yota's but for the way I use a truck they wouldn't be as durable, but of course you can't compare a 1/2 ton gas to a 3/4 diesel (06 chevy). I also have a F-150 and the Uplander van and believe it or not I have a geo metro as well, although I don't see me hooking the boat to it. They don't have to repackage the black just get a cheap one off the lot and swap the chrome for the black on it. That way they don't even have to order the black new just remove and replace.

fatmanslim: The Dodge has a lifetime warranty for a reason, just like Burley said all your buying is a guaranteed piece of crap. I work on all different brands of trucks here daily and just form woking on them putting in goosenecks/5th wheels and about any other accessorie (including fiberglass covers Fish Chris) the frame and undercarriage on the Tundra and the Dodge pale in comparison to the Chevy or Ford. The sheet metal isn't nearly as sturdy either especially on the Dodge, I don't even have to pre-drill to put a scre win a Dodge just a little pressure and the screw jumps through the metal. The same with the frame I do have to drill through them for 5th wheels but usually it takes 3 different bits to make a 1/2 inch hole in a Chevy or Ford on the Tundra and Dodge I can just go right through with the 1/2 inch bit first instead of starting with a 1/4 and then a 3/8 then the 1/2. The frame metal is not as thick and is softer and easier to drill. Fish Chris: Seems as though you are set on the Tundra no matter what, and for how you use your truck not hauling anything of significance it will be fine with the lighter suspension components and frame. For your use you would get just as good service form a V6 mini-van like an Uplander or Sienna, plus with the van you have more room for your tackle and rods the truck bed is way to short to carry a good swimbait rod or about any other rod for that matter without bending them. Or you could just opt for the Colt Vista Wagon, lunkers don't care what kind of car you drive to get the boat in the water, ain't that ritght Randall, or hell even ask Mike D a geo will suffice as well. As far as the cruise control don't worry about it you can easily get an aftermarket system, I use Rostra/Audiovox and for the Tundra it would cost about $250-$300 installed(depending on where you go) and is a simple install for this truck with a steering wheel mounted RF switch. For the money to get the use out of a truck if you plan on using it like a truck the the Chevy or Ford is the only way to go, they have heavier frames and suspension components that are made to work.

Back from Lake Ray Roberts -TX
I have tried finding some boat rentals and all I can come up with is pontoons. No lanes cut or marked, that is spectacular Texas was really on top of this one wasn't they. Wait a sec this is an Army C.O.E. lake isn't it? That would explain it. :

Back from Lake Ray Roberts -TX
I am heading down to visit with kin in Sanger in July the week of the 4th and was wanting to hit Ray Roberts, my uncle only lives about 10-15 minutes away from it. I was thinkin of draggin my boat along but with gas prices the way they are and I will only be able to hit the water maybe one or two days I don't know if it would be worth it. Now what's it gonna cost to get one of you guys to take me out and let's stick some of those Texas pigs. Or is there any kind of bass boat rentals, or is it all pontoon?

lipping or w/e its called a bass
And when removing the hook try and keep a hold of the lip or they will bite you, ain't that right Burley. One of the funniest things I have ever heard on the boat I was still fishing Burley was trying to get a guthook out and all of a sudden he yells "Oww the (s)ucker bit me!"

What's up with this photo ???
That's just to much work to put into saying that isn't George's fish. Who cares the fish in that pic is bigger than any Bass any of us on here have ever caught and like it or not it was caught evidenced by it beign in the pic. If that fish isn't 22+ it isn't an ounce.

Bill Dance
I am not much on meeting celebrities and all that star chasin stuff, they are no better than me. But I have to admit that meeting Bill Dance is not compared with that and would be absolutely the coolest. On Seagal, my said the same thing about him being an arse, the movie Fire Down Below was filmed in her hometown. She said the rest were all great esp. Marg Helgenberger.

Trilene MAXX
I started using it last year and love it. Didn't know it till I was fishing a club tourny one night that it is flourescent.

how do you tell if their are crawdads
I agree with fishizzle, see a body of water and know that there is a 99% chance there are craws in it.

My Favorite Topwater...
My go-to topwater is a Gaines (used to be Worden's) Crippled Killer. I also like the Rapala Skitter Pop, and last year my new favorite became the Scum frog.

Lake Russell
And you try and blame me when you plan a trip to some good fishin water and it turns on ya. ;D Guess we'll just have to hit the river and throw the secret weapon on ultralights. I know we can catch a ton of fish that way.

Pond Bassers
I have a small 1/3 acre pond on our land in KY and I use the same stuff I use on the big lakes, save for the deep cranks. I do catch alot on a Rocket Shad and Senkos in it more than anything else. Last year started frog fishin and got some good bites everywhere on it more especially in the ponds I fish.

Holston va/tn need a little help
I guess you are reffering to South Holston Lake and not the river. As far as the lake goes I most commonly reffer to it as The Dead Sea. In a 100 mile radius it is absolutely the worst lake to try and fish and do any good. Right now the Float and Fly is still about the go to on it, when the water warms more then a fluke or jerkbait off main lake points. With the lake as low as it is I would concentrate more toward the dam end from the 421 bridge and down. Our club has a tourny there next week and I won't be fishing it.

What would you qualify as a "dink"
Beat me to it. I was gonna paraphrase Low_Budget and say by definition anything Burley catches. ;D

I have to get...
It's not so much drifting, but on such a big wide open lake the wind makes big waves that a small boat like ours can't handle when you need to make a run across the lake to the spot you want to fish. Fish Chris, I can't afford the better boat either. That's why I got what I do it just isn't condusive to tournament fishing on the big bodies of water like that when the weather turns bad.
