  2. what brand is it?? Eagle/Lowrance have a tech line and they will help you with thier products, you can find the # on thier website.
  3. 5 lber on a bobber and nightcrawler while fishing for bream........ : : ;)
  4. I hope you have a strong back,, and like hernia surgeries, if you are gonna try and lift a boat like that.... wow, could not even imagine trying to put my 14 up in a truck or on top of a car or van..... makes my back hurt just thinking about it............ why not find a trailer????????????? you can find jon boats with trailers fairly cheap if you look around some........... I hate to see someone ruin thier back or worse, just trying to lift up a boat.. Now if it is lifting a fish, that is a diff. story.... ;D
  5. Ditto the above 3 replies......
  6. I would suggest working the clubs first. If meeting women is tough in high expectation places like the clubs, try the super market. I've found a couple keepers in the frozen foods aisle. No Bass should ever have to go through that. Man, LBH you took the words right out of my mouth.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D my only oother question is ummmmmmmmm,,,, wellllllllllllllllllllllllll shoot, never mind, this is a family forum..... : : :-[ :-[ :-[ :-/ :-/
  7. Guilty of the same. :-/
  8. Rather than all the confusion,, I am just telling my family gift cards to Cabelas or BPS are fine with me.... then i can go get what I want...
  9. As my daddy would say.... Somedays the bear eats,,,, some days you do.. Took me till I was about 17 to figure out what he meant.
  10. Thanks for the info.. as far as incorporating it into the design. If you ever fished out of the boat, you would understand my feelings about it just being in the way(it is a shin whacker). I will check with this welder, to see what he thinks about the hull thickness. I should have taken welding when I was in school..........lol

The holidays USED to be my favorite time to relax, and enjoy family. Now, I have literally given up trying to enjoy the holidays. It has become more of a you didnt get what you wanted, did that person really serve that? Man, those relatives were jsut rude, well, I bought everyone what they wanted, now we can not pay the bills time of year. Even the churches put pressure on you for more money. I would rather just have the time off to go fishing,,,,, at least that way the days could be enjoyed. just my .02 worth. Depressing HUH?
  12. Ronnie, I am building a casting deck covering the front from the seat forward. However, I do not want to deck the entire boat, would like that middle area to be lower, and open. If you have looked at LBH's boat, I am thinking the middle section on mine to be like his. I am also gonna deck the back end, to cover the batteries, etc... i am putting a 8 in. pedestal in the back, and probably a 12 or 14 in the front. The boat is a 14 ft. Fisher, inside width is 39 in. across the bottom. It is a very stable boat. I just do not want to add more weight than neccesary. I guess my other question is this, how do you tell if the hull is thick enough to weld on?????? I have found a local welder that does aluminum, however, I do not want him attempting to weld on the hull if it is not thick enough.
  13. Well, I am getting ready to start working on my boat. I have materials lined up for the most part. However, one thing keeps stumping me. If you look at the picture below, you will see this little 14x14 baitwell in the boat. I want it gone. It is just in the way. However, it is an added on unit (looks factory done) and is rivetted thru the hull and there is the issue of the drain hole thru the hull as well. I am thinking of just using a cut off wheel and cutting it down till I can just put my floor panel over it. I have decided for now to just use an aerator and cooler for a livewell for tourny days. I want that whole middle section open with just a floor in place to make it level and safer/easier to walk on. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Having lived within spitting distance of the Lamiglass factory in SW Washington, I grew up loving thier rods. I even backed over one with my truck, (it was an accident) took it back to them, I actually told them the true story, and they still handed me a brand new rod, free of charge... it was an 8.5 ft graphite salmon rod, original purchase price was like 200.00. Next trip into them, they had it hanging on the wall,,, with some smart a$$ quote about driving over your rod..... After Lamiglass,, it would have to be G Loomis.... They do some quality work,,,, they should since the guy who started it, if my memory serves me correct, worked for Lamiglass first...
  15. how about one of those ultra light #1 or 2 fly fishing rods. I used to have one that was only 4 ft. long. I paired it with a micro spinning reel for bank fishing for rainbow trout.... talk about having fun.....
  16. One of my most memorable moments was about 10 yrs. ago. It was middle of September. I was sitting on the shore of Yellowstone Lake, waiting for it to get light, so I could go wake up my brother and go hiking. The sun started to come over the mtn. tops, the elk were bugling in the background, fish were jumping in front of me, and not one human sound could be heard. It was like God, sent me a little picture of heaven to start the day.... that is why I love early mornings, especially if am gonna be in the outdoors. You get to see and hear things, that disappear when the daily rush starts.
  17. LBH, I could not agree more with you. I miss my winters from the north. I miss having a White Christmas or a White Halloween for that matter, certain years... I grew up in Montana, so I was used to the snow, and temps down to 20 below. As for your reasons, the one I remember the best, is sitting around the wood stove, drinking hot chocolate, coffee or adult beverages, and listening to everyone laughing, telling stories, and making plans for spring. Heck, one of my cousins met his future wife sitting around a woodstove like that... I have a buddy in Montana, that rides his snowmobile to work everyday during the winter... about 4 miles. Now that is cool.... He has a little sled he pulls behind in case his wife calls and asks him to pick up some things at the store....
  18. You can keep the eggnog,, give me a B-52 in a big strong cup of coffee..... Warm ya right up, and tastes great.
  19. Muddy, do not give up, even though I have been throwing a b/c reel for over 20 yrs. I still get a professional birds nest once in awhile, however.... you will come to love that reel, for the accuracy it gives you. I practice cast at a coffee can at varied distance for accuracy. You can also skip baits real well with a b/c. for going under brush or a dock, etc.... I learned on one of those old Blue Diawa rod and reel combos that was like casting with a broomstick. I think I went thru enough line that the line companies all sent me Christmas cards that year. ;D ;D ;D

I use my Gerber Multi tool for everything in the boat...... why have a pair of pliers when I can have one tool for everything. From a screwdriver, knife to cutters, and a file, etc... all on my belt, where it dont get lost.
  21. Catt, as a trained gunsmith, I could not agree more about the Ithaca. It is a fine weapon and I know many a hunter who will spend whatever it takes to get one fixed rather than buy a new shotgun. They are like the 870's in that they are very durable, shoot extremely well, and were designed to lessen felt recoil.
  22. OK, my bags are packed, come on aliens and come get me...... oh wait, you said sexy AND good looking..... darn it, guess you wont be coming my way then, I just have the sexy part ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
  23. Isnt he the one that was on the stupid romance show my wife watches,,, ummmmm oh yea,, Bachelor????? If so, who cares about the money,, he has one beautiful woman at his side, and she loves to fish too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I will see that Lynx and raise you one of these.
  25. You lucky devil When I was very young, I used to dream about running my own trap-line in British Columbia (really). Roger In my opinion, for other than big LMB, the Pacific Northwest probably has one of the best fisheries in the world... you can catch freshwater fish, saltwater fish, everything from suckers and squawfish to salmon, steelhead, lake trout, crappie, perch, bluegill, bass, kokanee, sturgeon, snapper, cod, flounder, etc..... all within about an 1.5 hr. drive, depending where you live. So, yes, I have to agree, I was lucky growing up there, and having so many fishing and hunting opportunities... Seen and experienced things a lot of people only get to see on T.V.
