8' XH, fast
LOL, I remember that like it was yesterday. As soon as I saw that it was the rod and not you going overboard, I could laugh about it. That think looked like a marker buoy bobbing in the water ;D

Bass REALLY like the Salty Trick Sticks!!!
Thats not a bad idea... i really don't like the o-ring method but i might give that a try. where do you get heat shrink tubing? Any hardware store or home improvement store (Lowes, Home Depot) should have it. It will likely be w/ the electrical connectors.

A day on the lake with Muddy
LOL, us two? Nah... I kept asking him if he was catching anyone, giving him a little ego boost (like he needed it). Each time I asked him, he got a little more cocky. By the end of the day, it seemed like he would just cruise past and hold up the number of fingers for people he wrote up... Like I said, thoroughly entertaining to me. ;D

Illegal outboard motor use
Ok, here goes... I saw your response to the "kid" comment earlier, but your lack of personal accountability, to me, shows a kid's mentality... I agree with you 100% that a HP restriction might not be the way to go on any given lake. The fact still remains that there IS one on this lake. That has to mean something to the people using the lake. It is not up to the general public to decide which rules to follow, but it is their duty to abide by them. If those with the larger boats wish to use the lake, they should do so within the rules or find some other place to go. I am in no way, shape or form perfect. Far from it, in fact. I have broken laws and continue to do so (the cliche speeding analogy). But I know the consequences and have no one to blame but myself when I receive a ticket or some other form of reprimand. Really, how can this point be argued any further?

Illegal outboard motor use
I didnt put any words into your mouth, read what you have been posting and what you just posted again. Because there is no one to enforce the law and there are so many people breaking the law, is there really a law? Yes, there most certainly is a law. And it is being broken. What I am "misunderstanding" is how you see ZERO wrong in breaking a law you might not agree with.

Illegal outboard motor use
That is a very dangerous way of thinking...akin to saying that since there are not enough fish wardens, then I can keep as many fish as I want. Since there are not enough game wardens, I can kill as many deer as I want. Since there are not enough police officers, I can steal as many things as I want. As long as I dont get caught, I didnt do anything wrong? Like I said, very dangerous way of thinking....

md state record largemouth
Sean, that wasnt directed at you... In that post you quoted, I am the next poster under the picture. I remember that thread well. I always believe that pictures remove a lot of the doubt with big bass. I have little doubt that ptomacbass caught a large fish. I am sure his dad caught a large fish, maybe one that weighed 7lbs. You and I both know, there is a BIG difference in a 7lb and a 10lb largemouth bass though... Pictures would help. Pictures of a fish on a scale would really help...

Illegal outboard motor use
To me, the bottom line is people know the law. If you choose to break the law, prepare to suffer consequences. If you are unable to deal with the consequences, dont break the law. Ultimately, people are going to do things to break or bend written laws. What I dont want to hear about is when these people point fingers around and say "Well, everyone else does it too!" It's a simple concept to grasp. Obey the law or pay the fines. Pretty cut and dry if you ask me...

Fish Attractant on Sunglasses!?!
What have you used to try and take it off? They sell lense cleaners at Walmart that are specifically designed for all types of glasses. You may also want to try KVD Line and Lure. Works on glasses too. Wayne

Sun Tan Lotion
You know what will also keep you from catching more bass? Skin cancer Put the lotion on. Get the kind in a spray bottle and it will never touch your hands.

Dead Bass
Come on Dave. You are a smart kid. If it wont be eaten, there are more discreet ways to dispose of it. The world is full of garbage cans. Take them home and toss them. While it is not the most useful way to dispose of a dead fish, it is better than having "floaters" where all the anti's can use it for ammo. Another option is to dig a hole, put the fish in and plant a flower in the hole. When I used to fish for trout and kept a fish or two, my mother would take the entrails and use them for fertilizer. At the small tournaments I fish, there is one guy that will take the fish to eat. There are very few dead fish (immediately) at these tournaments, but every single one is consumed. Like I said, numerous ways to do it other than throwing them back in the water....

A day on the lake with Muddy
Well, I finally made the trek to Mauch Chunk Lake to fish with the Mudster and what a time it was... First, I gotta say that Muddy is a class act. Very entertaining and very knowledgeable about his home lake. I had to laugh that he lives in the area and I still beat him to the lake (I live 2.5 hours away). LOL We started off fishing over shallow weed beds. Let me tell you, Muddy REALLY CAN FISH. LOL Him and his dang watermelon purple swirl Trick Sticks were kicking my rear when we first started. I picked up the big stick and started throwing the wake bait. You should have seen the look on his face when that thing started crashing the water. All day long, every cast I threw....All I hear from the front of the boat is Muddy chuckling to himself when that thing hit the water. We fished different types of cover and structure, most notably the very defined creek channel and the pads/slop at the upper end. Fish were caught a variety of ways including soft plastics, swimbait, deep jig, crankbaits. Muddy also got introduced to the Rage Tail baits and the RT Shad seemed to mesmerize him. At one point, I pulled out the JJ's Magic and Muddy's Italian garlic meter went through the roof!!! It got even better on the next cast when I pulled in a largemouth from the creek channel. LOL Muddy decides that he needs to try some as well. On his very first cast, the bait doesn't even hit the water and a fish has the bait. I think JJ can expect an order sometime in the near future The evening ended fishing in the slop and Muddy catching fish w/ the Ika and * in the lily pads. All in all, we had a decent day. Nothing huge, but more than enough fish to keep you in the game. Muddy, thanks for being a great host. The meatballs were awesome and so was the conversation. I will post the pic of Muddy's biggest of the day at some point today. Wayne PS...Muddy wasnt lying when he said they have a jackazz for a Fish Warden up there. When asked why he thought all the lily pads had disappeared, his PROFESSIONAL response was, "Huh? How should I know? I'm not a biologist." It was funny watching this guy go from boat to boat and pester people. You could see his head getting bigger as he went up the lake....I was thoroughly entertained ;D

I KNEW Alpster was an Abu Garcia man! (I have proof)

The "eyes" have it
Russ, contact Matt at Mattlures. He sent me some eyes for a bluegill that was having issues. Not sure where he gets them, but if you can wait (and I remember) I will bring some with me next month.
