I'm a fan of "The Can" estrous call. Grunt calls are finicky and unless your population has aggressive deer, I've seen some large bucks get very alert when I grunted and not in a good way. The estrous calls don't seem to bother them as much and I've actually had spooky deer calm down with soft estrous calling. Deer are different everywhere, but I know NY has deer pressure like PA. I think it would likely apply to you. Only one way to find out and that's give it all a shot.
  2. Still can't believe no one took me up on that. At the very least I'm not some anonymous Ebay personality....
  3. I am a big fan of the Cardiff. Honestly, I dont think you would go wrong with the Luna or the Calcutta if you want to spend that much.
  4. I hit the river last week and the water is definitely cooling. You could feel it through the waders.
  5. Going to Deep Creek on Sunday. Hoping to get into them.
  6. I have a Ten Point, I also sell them. Unless a guy is dead set on another bow due to brand loyalty or money constraints, I can usually help them see the light. Tenpoint is the way to go IMHO. Shoot me a PM if you like. Maybe we can work something out.
  7. Nah, I'll just let it ride here. I throw the offer out occasionally.
  8. "I killed someone with a trident"
  9. Wow, not a single PM? That's surprising.
  10. Just throwing it out there but if anyone is interested in trying a pair of Costa 580 Glass at a discount (250 retail, get them for 170), shoot me a message. I know this is akin to posting Daiwa stuff on a Shimano thread, but we are talking about your eyes. Gear is replaceable, eyes are not.
  11. I like them. The Watermelon/Red is just about as good as it gets. They are a little bigger than most tubes which I like also.
  12. They are easy enough to make. Threaded rod, two washers and two lock nuts for each rod you put in the box. I zip tied snap swivels in mine onto the rod. Simple.
  13. LOL, you have my number if you want to go.
  14. Whatever you get, make sure you untie the factory knots and tie your own again. Some of them I have seen look like the chinese guys were teaching their kids to tie their shoes.
  15. 44 mag lure retriever. Awesome. I also carry one of BPS ones that looks like a big green crankbait.
  16. I can POSSIBLY understand losing baits if you are beating the bank. However, I'm not above swimming to get a lure that I've spent a good chunk of change on. If you are in a boat, there is almost no excuse to lose a lure unless you set the hook on something and snap off. I'm with Hooligan. A good plug knocker (I carry two) will pay for itself the first time you hang an expensive bait. They are simple to use and a MUST for fishing any kind of diving bait, treble bait, bottom contact bait, etc.
  17. LOL, I can't afford to pay the kind of chedda' places like that cost. I would however accept a free invitation to fish swimbaits at King Fisher.
  18. I'm sure there is some stuff up there but there are exactly ZERO plans and ZERO funds to refill. If, and that's a big IF, they ever put water in there again it's going to be waaaaaay in the future.
  19. When I get out the sissy stick, it's the lowest cost one I throw. 6'10" BPS Extreme and 2500 Symetre. Total cost on sale and after discounts was around $120 or so. Frog combo is also around that price, Fenwick Venture and Revo S-L
  20. All good suggestions but I'd say save up for a *** hardgill. The initial cost seems high but the overall value of longevity and effectiveness irons that out for you. I've had one for about 5 years now. It's beat up and looks like hell but it still swims and catches fish like nobody's business.
  21. The first one tail walked with about 3/4 of its body up out of the water. Kinda like a smallmouth....with bigger teeth.
  22. LOL, you know what I mean.
  23. Bro, that lake is DONE. Completely drained, no plans to fix the dam and refill.
  24. I'd say there is a reason Dwight fishes out of that big walleye boat and not a "bass" boat. This would serve as pretty good confirmation of that decision.
