  1. Fair enough, everyone entitled to their opinion.
  2. I'll have to check out your area then. Next to nothing up here.
  3. If you see or know of any 9.9 or 15-20hp motors that have not been in saltwater and are in good shape, let me know. Buddy of mine sold his that I used to borrow, been looking for one that's not brand new but not beat up either.
  4. LOL, is that how it is plated or stickered?
  5. Done, not a problem whatsoever. We won't go very fast, but hey what's the rush? LOL IIRC, it's a 9.9 motor? I think the aluminum aircraft carrier goes around 6-7mph with a 9.9. Good enough for me.
  6. Post spawn I would love to see what my rat baits would do down there next to all those trees hanging over the water. They really pick up their effectiveness when the water is >70. I'll come down and drop some bluegills on beds if ya like too. LIke I said, down for whatever.
  7. LOL, if you have never talked to Bobby in person then you have no idea what you are talking about. Trust me, his tone is lost on internet forums. Give him a call or meet him in person and I guarantee you will take his statement completely differently. There is truth in his post. I'm not defending him because he is a BR sponsor, I have no vested interest in that. I'm defending him as a stand up guy who does right by his customers. He's accessible and knows what customer service is all about. He also knows about marketing and how the fishing industry works. I didnt see "haterism" anywhere there. I'm skeptical of the "next big thing" ALWAYS too. I still can't catch a dang thing on a chatterbait. If it works for you, great.
  8. I'm down, just need a little notice. Obviously would prefer a little warmer water/weather than the last time we fished. A more stable platform for my big unwieldy behind wouldnt hurt either. I think I made it what, 20 minutes before the first attempt at swimming?
  9. LOL, with regards to what? I think you may find some differing opinions on that subject. I got two BIG names in my head that might disagree. You can probably figure out who.
  10. Like I said, I'm a Golden guy. That's his "bubblegum" bandana. 120lb fluffball
  11. Really, no one can answer that but you. Does it work for you? If "no" then switch, if it does then keep it up.
  12. If I had to pick just one swimbait (trust me, it becomes increasingly difficult) it would be a slow sinking Mattlures Hardgill. If it HAD to be a soft bait, it would be one of his Ultimate Bluegills with a boot tail.
  13. Swimbaits. Sounds funny but buy the most proven one(s) you can. May seem expensive at first but they will save you money and headaches in the long run. Buy whatever size matches the forage in your lakes. Personally, bigger is better because most people are throwing basic sized baits.
  14. 1/8th oz is pretty light, depending on where and how deep you want to fish it. Like RW said, keep the heavier weight toward the bottom so it will swim properly.
  15. Hooligan's post about the bait is spot on from what I know. The name's got "Rap" at the end much like their other recent stuff.
  16. Don't get me wrong Dwight, I'm a Golden Retriever guy at heart and I was pulling for the OE Sheepdog to win but that little guy's facia features and that name just crack me up.
  17. Understanding bass is never a bad thing. You never know what you might be able to pick up from it and apply to your personal situation on the water.
  18. Smallies like-a da sissy.
  19. I've got them on three of my swimbait sticks. I like the looks but their effect on my casting distance and the weight savings is negligible on a 8' or 8'6" rod. Spiral wrapped micros for me from now on. The spiral is the way to go, regardless of guide type.
  20. So will a Fat Ika or hell, for that matter, a Flying Lure.
  21. LOL, long story and waaaaay in the past. No biggie.
  22. LOL Quan, come on man. Gotta catch up! I was banned for two years and look how many I got! j/k
  23. Well, got to see a pic of the bait. Interesting looking. Didnt get to see the action but I was told that it's pretty cool. Supposedly gonna do some cool stuff in the water. If the action is what they say, the name fits the bait pretty well too.
  24. I think Dick's either carries it or did in the past. Just get it direct from Bobby and support the little guy.
