  1. I tend to agree with Ghoti. We always here how colors turn to shades of gray after a certain depth. It makes sense that sound would be a more important factor. Nice post Gary. Falcon
  2. I use Gamakatsu EWG's exclusively. I've never had any break, and I don't believe I've ever had any bend. Falcon
  3. I get Bassin and Bassmasters. I'm heading to the Inside Line site right now. Falcon
  4. For me it's, Shad Raps jointed and straight, Rattlin Raps, C.C. Grappler Shad, Frenzy divers, X-Raps. Falcon
  5. I agree with Cabela10. Try the sandy flats. Smallmouth love sand and gravel. Don't overlook the weeded areas either, here on St. Clair I always pull them out of the weeds. Falcon
  6. Liquidsoap hit the nail on the head. a long time ago I was talking to a DNR fisheries biologist and he told me "how would like it if i stuck my hands in your lungs?" it's the same for the fish. Just my opinion. Falcon
  7. I've been a member since 2003. They're OK but I'm letting my membership run out. They do send things to "field test" but they are never high dollar items like they make it sound. They did send me a nice saddle bag to put on my snowmobile for icefishing. The only problem was, they forgot to ask if I had a snowmobile.........................NOT. It did make a friend of my son very happy though. Falcon
  8. I just consulted my log, and it was three. Most of my outings are only 2-3 hours because of my spine problems. There are those wonderful days when St. Clair will bless me with 20+ for the same time frame, but they are always followed with a double dose of pain medication. Falcon
  9. I have a beer mug collection that my wife wishes i didn't. It's funny because I don't even drink beer anymore. Falcon
  10. I have a 7' med Crankin Stick and it has served me well. You can't find a better rod for the price. Personally, I like the power hump, but I have larger hands. Falcon
  11. Sorry to say, I don't have any pics of myself fishing as a kid. My dad introduced me to fishing at five years old, but my mom always took the pictures and she never went fishing with us. Falcon
  12. LBH and GMAN, whenever you guys are ready to come here to St. Clair, I'd be happy to take you out. It would be great to meet you and share some ideas. Falcon
  13. I have to admit, every time I read the names of all the Reaction Innovations products i crack up. Falcon
  14. If you spend enough time at the boat ramp you can write a book. Falcon
  15. Robert, thanks for posting. I'm going to try the shakey rig this season, so any info I can get is welcomed. Falcon
  16. Nice smallie!!! You're killing me, all the pictures you've posted recently are making my blood boil because all my smallies are under the ice.LOL Keep up the good work. Falcon
  17. Nice fish!! What lake is that? Looks like bass Heaven. I'm going through bass withdrawl right now. My lake has ice. Falcon
  18. Welcome Bluecraw, Sounds like your son is on the right track. It's good to see you have him interested in fishing already. Keep up the good work, Falcon
  19. Welcome to the best bass fishing site on the net. I agree with Low_Budget_Hookers, a jig with a crawdad trailer would work in those rocks. Falcon
  20. Welcome Calumet, I can't help you with your question, but if you give this site a little time, someone will give you the answer. This place is the BEST. Falcon
  21. Last week, my grandson was telling me about this REALLY COOL fishing gun. I didn't know what the devil he was talking about. Then on the Cartoon Network, this commercial came on and my grandson called me into the room and I saw Roland Martin hawking this crazy thing. I guess if the money is right..................................... Falcon
  22. Bimbleton, No offense was taken, I was just trying to show that these guys could fish long before all these gagets came into play. I think that all those companies pay the pros to hawk their products. As has been stated, alot of these magazines have made our beloved sport too commercialized. Personally, the only electronic device I have is the depth finder on my console. But I only fish the lake I have lived on for over thirty years. Falcon
  23. That's really cool, I like Preston Clark. I've met a few pros myself. Most of them (except for Mr. Muskie Pete Maina) were pretty down-to-earth guys. They like to share ideas and talk about this great sport. They never had a problem answering questions or signing autographs. How's the fishing in Lakeland? I'm hoping to make a trip down there during spring training, and see a couple Tiger games. Some of my fishing tackle will probably tag along. Falcon
