  1. I've caught over 200 LMB in Lake St. Clair, so far this season. Falcon
  2. My biggest was 6lb-15oz. I caught her in August of 2002, on a custom painted #7 Shad Rap in 12 feet of water. Three years ago I finally had one over seven pounds, but I lost it at the boat because I was stupid. A few weeks ago, when Ghoti was visiting, we saw a smallie floating that was well over seven pounds. It broke my heart, that I didn't catch it before it died. Falcon
  3. Lake St.Clair is a VERY clear lake. For the baits you mentioned: Popper- Frog, or Chrome Blue. Spinnerbait- White, or Translucent Buzzbait- Recently, Black has been producing, or White. Falcon
  4. As Steezy said, wearing shoes with good support is very important. After six spine surgeries, I found out how important good shoes are. Before you use a brace, it's probably more important to get your core muscles in shape. My doctor didn't want me to depend on a brace. He said it was better to just stay in shape. If the problem continues, maybe you should see a doctor. Just a suggestion. Falcon
  5. I stand all the time. I get more distance on my casts, and better hook sets, while standing. When I used to walleye fish, I sat all the time while trolling. Falcon
  6. A spinnerbait would be a great choice for the conditions you are fishing. As Catt said, keep them moving and they are quite snag free. Falcon
  7. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. I used to fish Lake Nipissing. My son was stationed at the NORAD base in North Bay for four years. Falcon
  8. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. It's good to have another Michigan member. What part of the state do you live? Falcon
  9. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. You live in Grimlin's neck of the woods. Falcon
  10. Here in S.E. Michigan, we've had the second coldest summer on record. Our mean temperture is 7.5 degrees lower than normal. On the plus side, fishing has been great. Falcon
  11. When I saw the title to this post, I thought you were talking about me. Falcon
  12. I use Duo Lock clips with mono and braid, and have never had a problem. I've never used Crosslocks, but a few of my buddys like them. Falcon
  13. All it takes is getting hit in the face by a Junebug at 50 MPH+, or a long run in the rain. You won't ask why someone needs a helmet. Falcon
  14. I keep all my spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and chatterbaits in a BPS binder. Falcon
  15. ***, 7" Hookup, in Red Shad, Black/Blue, or Watermelonseed. Falcon
  16. I have most of my success with shad, or crawdad patterns. Hot pink is another good color for smallies. Falcon
  17. Here's another vote for the Bomber Square "A", in Threadfin Shad. If that's not an option, then the Rapala Shallow Shad Rap in Shad or Purpledescent, and Shad. Falcon
  18. Welcome to the best fishing site on the net. Falcon
  19. Ten years ago my wife gave me a set of Columbia's. As of last week, they're still working perfectly. Falcon
  20. I've got some baits in storage boxes and some in bags, and I've never noticed a difference. Falcon
  21. I would definately throw spinnerbaits in that lake. Falcon
  22. My buddys and I have some Muskie baits that look like they've been through a war, but they still catch alot of fish. Falcon
  23. The DC Shad, and Peanut are both good lures. Falcon
  24. I agree 100% with Catt. For many years, I would buy any $20.00 combo that MIGHT last one season. After more equipment failures than I care to admit, I started purchasing quality equipment, and fishing has been more successful, and fun since. Falcon
  25. An F-6 Helin Flatfish, frog pattern. I still have the lure. Mr. Helin gave it to me. Falcon
