  1. Welcom, If you like bass fishing, this is the best place to spend some time, If you can't be on the water. Falcon
  2. I've never used anything but Gamakatsu EWG's for my plastics. I just like the extra space for better hook-ups. Falcon
  3. That was great!! Falcon
  4. Growing up my cousins and I fished a farm pond near my grandparents house. We always offered to help with chores and cleaned the area whether it was our mess or not. We also promised to catch and release only. Falcon
  5. Two years ago my wife helped me set up a program to log all my information. It sounds very similar to Catt's. After every trip, once all my gear is put away, I go right to the computer and document everything. I used to keep all my data in a notebook but that wasn't as neat as the computer, plus I was always misplacing the notebook. Falcon
  6. I'm with Raul, I enjoy being on the water. Although I would like to break the 7# mark on the smallies, I've been stuck on 6-15 for too long. Falcon
  7. That's too funny!!! Falcon
  8. That's right detroit1. You have to be from Michigan to understand "circle of trust". That was a good show. Falcon
  9. What a sweet set-up. Not everybody takes such care to color co-ordinate their rod and reel. It looks like a match made in Heaven. Enjoy. Falcon
  10. I always use the split shot rig when I'm using shiners. Falcon
  11. I got a stream fly fishing thermometer from BPS. It's in a protective metal case, and can be thrown into the water to get water temp at the bottom or any other level. It cost $9.99 in the fly fishing dept. Falcon
  12. Although I enjoy the "kid in a candy store" feeling when I go to BPS, Gander Mountain, or Cabelas. There is nothing like feeling the fish pick up your bait, setting the hook, and fighting it back to the boat or shore. Falcon
  13. I always did like the Blazer in red. Falcon
  14. Nice truck!!! It's not a beater anymore. Falcon
  15. Here in Michigan, we have a RAP Line (Report All Poaching). If we see anybody doing anything illegal, just call that number and they are pretty quick to respond. I've used it a couple times. Do you have anything like that in Cali? Falcon
  16. Fluke has the best idea. Falcon
  17. Hey Bassn Blvd, If you do catch the fish don't kill it. Check with pet stores in your area. We have a store in my area that buys exotic fish that people don't want and sells them to other people. You might make some money. Falcon
  18. I've been watching WGFS from the first show. I think it's the best show ESPN airs on Saturday morning. Go easy on Zona. All of us Michigan guys come on as goofy and arrogant until you get to know us.LOL Falcon
  19. I have two KVD Signature Series Rods (casting) that I like very much. They are a very good bargain. Falcon
  20. Great chart Russ. Thanks for posting. Falcon
  21. Here in Michigan: Resident = $15.00.......All species = $28.00 Senior (65 years or older) = $11.20 Military = $1.00 Nonresident = $34.00.....All species = $42.00.....24 hr = $7.00 These fees are for 2007. Rumor has it they will all be going up considerably for 2008. Falcon
  22. Welcome to the best fishing site on he net. As has been mentioned, read the articles and ask questions and before you know it, you'll have a PHD in bass fishing. More than anything, take Zel's advice. A day on the water with Dad and a friend will almost always be successful. A slow, boring day of fishing will be a fast turn-off. Good luck, Falcon
  23. VERY FUNNY!!! Falcon
  24. Michigan is the same as Texas. As explained on page 21 of the fishing guide. "Length Measurement Directions: Measure fish from tip of nose (or lower jaw) to tip of tail in a straight line (DO NOT measure in a curve around body from nose to tail). Measure to closest 1/8th inch. Tail and jaw should be pinched together." Falcon
  25. I like Bassin, however it isn't a monthly magazine. Bassmaster is pretty good. In-fisherman is a great all species magazine, I like it alot. Falcon
