  1. Welcome to the Forum! Even after fishing since I was a young boy, questions still arrive, and they always will. Just ask away!
  2. Agreed with LBH lol
  3. Nice Bass! Well done. "If you want big results take big risks"
  4. Welcome partner!
  5. It is not scientifically proven that bass WILL NOT strike a lure containing any type of carbon monoxide etc. But at lab tests at Berkley, fish did seem tro be somewhat detered by the smell of "niccotine" on baits. Ciggaretes and cigars contain this chemical I believe. There is nothing positive that comes with smoking. The negatives beat it out 1000-1
  6. LOL I think it would be smart to say that a scumfrog is the best frog catching lure on the market. Now we know why Kermit the frog dosent hang around farm ponds ;D ;D
  7. Ive caught just about everything on a rebel crawfish. They are great lures and will catch almost any freshwater fish almost anywhere. -WM
  8. Yes Avid thats exactly what I was thinking. I have a St.Croix premier in 6'6 M F..its also a very reliable rod..but I think this time i may upgrade to the avid -WM

  12. Ok so I came the the conclusion that I need about three more rods to complete my arsenal to cover just about an given situation. I definately need a fliping stick. What im looking for is a rod that I can just pitch jigs with, but not so heavy. Just pitching it to visible targets, when it isnt so thick...like laydowns etc. Lots of time I will want to pitch or flip to a target but I wont actually need a "flipping stick". Would a 7ft MH action rod be good for this? I figured if I get this I could do some pitching as well as spinnerbaiting etc. Also Ive been using frogs a lot and im wondering what the best rod would be for this. (i.e) bronzeeye frog ..etc I think a 7 MH could cover both of these situations im thinking about...I could throw spinnerbaits with this, as well as frogs and pitch some closer targets. What ya think?
  13. Before, during and after. But if I had to put them in order it would still be before, during and after. 1. Before- dense cloud cover that moves fish out from their hiding spots to roam the shallows looking for bait and food, most fish become generally active before the rain. During- A great time to fish (for me anyways) but some people worry about getting wet. I love fishing during the rain. After- After is really neutral. The only thing you have to be careful of is runoff that stains the water and makes it terribly muddy. When this happens bass visibility is limited and makes the strike zone a lot smaller, calling for accurate casts and lures with a lot of noise and vibration. If a bass cant see a lure, theres no chance you can catch him/her -WM
  14. Its a sand wash pit in this town called Pennsgrove...its a really nice lake.lot of steep drop offs and timber. Its about 150 acres.
  15. Wow Excellent work man..those are some nice baits. They even look better than some of the brands at dicks, basspro etc.

  19. Well yesterday was a very interesting day. me and pops decided to go fishing. So we get to the lake its about 5:45am and I drop the trolling motor. ;D man im so excited and I cant wait to catch some bass. Than all of the sudden after a minute of speed trolling to our spot it dies!!!! > :-/ OH CRAP! So we tried to figure out if it was a short fuse or not and my dad said he mustve forgot to charge the batteries. Luckily on the back of our 14 foot john boat we have another trolling motor that had full batteries. But still I was so frsutrated that I ddint even want to fish. By the time we got to our spot after fiddling with the motor, it was too late for my gameplan: throw spinnerbaitsjust under the surface and an LC sammy to find some fish. The sun came up very quick and the fish just werent in the cove we hit. So I told pops to drive me back out to the main lake where I located some submerged timber on my graph last time we went there. My dad making the first cast caught a nice fish maybe 4 pounds. Than cast after cast we nailed them. I got a couple 2/12 -3 pounders and it was great. We were throwing YUM Ribbontail Worms in blue fleck in about 14 foot of water with submerged timber poking out at the top. We had a ball. We went from almost leaving out of frustration to smiling from the minute we caught the fish to the minute we left. The bass were in a typical post-spawn- pre summer pattern...it was deeper water with quick access to shallow water. Everyhting was perfect. Algae on the trees, baitfish around. I knew they would be there and we got em All in all good day at the lake..
  20. GJ Rand Will they evers top coming? lol

  23. I try to go fishing wherever and whenever I can. yesterday me and NJfishinGUY did 16 hours at lake Hopatcong and another smaller lake. He had an excelnt day but I only caught 5 pickerel. I missed a lot of bass on frogs and spinnerbaits in the morning, but I never gave up, 15 hours in and still fishing hard for bass. Guess im a little obsessed -WM
