I know that Owner makes the twist lock hooks, but I'm wondering if there is anywhere you can get the springs that go with these. I will be using some paddletail swim baits this year and threading the bait through the hook will greatly reduce its durability and how long it will last. If anyone knows where I can purchase these, please reveal Thanks -wm

Thanks, those are nice and I actually need something like that for this winter when finesse fishing with tail spins, but i was looking for more of the actual shakey head style with the stand up position etc. Those look like they would be good with grubs. They are actually called tailspinners. thanks for your input -mike

The same way you fish every other shakey head, with either a finesse or trick worm. I just thoguht the vibration would help bass in dingy water find it better

I don't know if these even exist but if they do I would like to purchase some. The point of the Colorado blade would be to give off more vibration to help bass find the worm easier, because i feel that vibration is an important key when visibility is low especially when using finesse and trick worms. I did some searches on shaky heads but couldn't find any companies that make them. It would look maybe something like this... if anyone has any info please post -wm

Thanks Bobby for thr article. I must say I am a proud user of MegaStrike and am having success with it. I also use spray scents to mask any unwanted odors sometimes, such as BANG and Baitmate. Even though Baitmate is oil based it is still said to contain amino acids..how is this different from megastrike? Also is there any information on what berkley is actually using with their baits? I know berkely products are unbelieveable at times, it has to be in the scent and taste because there are some days where powerbait just outproduces other plastics hands down.

ROFL Agreed...well Russ in all seriousness Garys arent the only baits that fall apart, I have worms and other plastics that become unusable just because of the piercing of the hook barb in the head, even an alurring bait trick stick will wear out after 7854 fish lol....... This is really weird because I was going to post a thread tonight asking about a glue to repair plastics.... coincidence? probably!

Well I must say my life is going through a tussel right now in a ot of different aspects. School is going good for the most part I must say, its just my money situation and all the negativity that goes on around where I live. My mom woke me up monday morning around 8:00 and told me my window was smashed, someone had thrown a giant rock through it. Now this was very upsetting. I layed there in my bed feeling betrayed, by some of my old friends whom I no longer associate with no more. What was even more upsetting was this is the second time this has happened since July. Its hard enough to manage things with only a part time job and going to school. not to mention my mom might have to be selling the house soon to get an apartment, as she is a single parent and works full time, and her one job was lost due to the company no longer in business. I had a good talk with my dad today about alot of things, and he told me not to let this negativity and things I cant control bring me down. If it wasn't for my dad I would probably be throwing rocks through windows today just like the people who did it to mine, simply because he and my mom have raised me to be a proper person, and have taught me so many things along the way. Im really not quite sure why im posting this thread, I just feel i need to get a few things out, its good to see that people read things like this for the most part and im hoping it will give me a boost of confidence and motivation. Ive learned theres things in life we just cant control, and this is one of them. I have an idea who might have done it but theres really nothing I can do, as it could have been anybody and there is no evidence to support the claim. We already have enough things to worry about in life, but this is just really upsetting and adds on. Well with all that being said dad and I are going out thursday for a day of fishing. Which is just what I need because theres probably not a better way for a persons problems to run down a fishing line and have that moment of excitement when hooking into a bass. Yup as soon as that temp starts dropping in the fall the PICk love it and they go nuts! If anyone is actually going for them I advise dog walking baits such as the sammy or zara spook...its almost easier than blinking.

Please clarify your question, so far I 've understood .... nothing :-? , first you entitle your question: bullet or no bullet which I assume means bullet sinker ( or at least that 's how I understand it given the context ), then you tell us that you fish pretty clear water and then you ask if you should use a bead which I assume means glass bead. Which was it: 1.- should you use a bullet sinker or not because you fish very clear water or 2.- because you fish very clear water you should also use a glass bead along with the bullet sinker or not ? YZ Hybrid Ultra Soft isnt mono. Its a flurocarbon coplymer blend and has way way less stretch than mono. In my opinion its the best line out there when not using flurocarbon or braid.

I caught one the the biggest bass of my life yesterday on a black shad culprit worm. As a general rule i like colors that stand out more in dirty water and natural or less offensive colors in clear water. Yesterday the water I was fishing was somewhat on the clear side, and I was using the black shad culprit worm. The thing I like about this color is on the top it is a light black, and on the bottom a greyish kind of clear color. If you ever look at a species chart containing freshwater fish, almost always youll find there is not a fish that swims that dosen't have a darker back than its belly. So in this case it was a good worm choice for a scenario where visibility was high. Of couse Ive caught fish with much brighter colors even in very clear water, but again it all comes down to confidence.
