  1. This! When the water temps drop and those big bass start slowing down and become less willing to go very far for a meal, I want to tempt them with something to make it worth their while.
  2. Nothing yet. I’m a little bummed about the way they’re doing it this year. I’ve been pretty successful in grabbing some over the past couple years, though the good colors are usually snatched up pretty quick. They said the 1st through the 7th for notifications. Been nice if they could’ve nailed down a day to send them out.

Crankbait: Deps Evoke 1.8 Topwater: Evergreen Shower Blows Worm: 5” Senko rigged weightless Finesse Worm: OSP 3D Wacky neko rigged Creature: OSP Dolive Beaver on a free rig Spinnerbait: Megabass SV-3 DW 1/2 oz
  4. Roboworm is a must have drop shot for me. I’ve also been using the OSP HP 3D Wacky on a drop shot and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. Tons of good ones out there but a few that I’d recommend: Don Iovino straight tail worms, OSP Dolive Gill, Jackall Flick Shake, Jackall ishad, Yamamoto Kut Tail worm, Keitech Easy Shaker, and don’t forget to include some sort of small paddletail like the Keitech 2.8”.
  5. I would consider the 21 Scorpion DC - can get it from Japan Lure Shop for right around $220 or so last I looked. For the rod I would also second the suggestion above on the Expride - best bang for your buck on rods anywhere period, imo.
  6. I recently watched a video on this very topic that made a compelling argument. I’ll see if I can dig it up real quick…
  7. Some of my TW sales goodies and a few not so on sale items…
  8. I just use the regular 3700 size Plano Edge. I actually prefer them over the Edge jig boxes.
  9. Can’t seem to remember the $5 off TW promo code. Anyone have it?
  10. OSP 5” HP 3D wacky in Morning Dawn nail weighted and fished on a size 1 Scrum hook has been absolutely deadly and will get me bit when nothing else will. One of my favorites on a drop shot or neko rig!
  11. I like these: OSP Rod Holder They are good quality will attach to pretty much any pack or just a belt.
  12. I fish a spot very similar to that. I normally start by throwing a topwater - either a Pompadour or a Whooper Plopper. If that doesn’t work I throw a weightless Fluke and/or paddle tail. Then I’ll go with either a drop shot or free rig. If all that fails I’ll toss a light punch rig. So basically I start from the top and work to the bottom, hiding the hook point in anything I’m throwing down in the muck to keep it weedless.
  13. I buy and try out all sorts of buzzbaits, including some of the more expensive JDM brands just because I’m a sick in the head tackle junky, but in all honesty there’s no need for anything other than a Cavitron imo. You need a black one and a white one. I’ll occasionally throw on a paddle tail or a crazy flapper.
  14. That’s exactly what I have on my Swimbait setup and would never even think of using anything else.
  15. I leave them in the bags now, though I’m not too worried about mixing colors. Some years back I left some in a Plano 3700 with some standard baits and it was a gooey mess.
  16. Jackall MC60 SR are on sale right now at TW for $10.49. If you’re wanting topwater I’d look at a crawler bait like the Pompadour. If you’re wanting to be just below the surface, check out the Imakatsu Waddle Bat
  17. Just picked one up and love it so far. Great rod for the $$$.
  18. I have one and like it a lot. I’ve thrown a ton of different stuff on it and it’s handled it all with ease. Good quality and comfortable to use. Great value, lots of bang for your buck imo.
  19. They're good quality baits for sure, both the poppers and their walking baits. I don’t feel like they’re overpriced at their normal price if that helps. I think it’s just the super deep discount that drives the frenzy - baits that are normally $25 are suddenly 3 for $25 so people go nuts.
  20. Last year I was on the phone with them naming colors and she’d say, yeah, we still have some of those, and by the time she added it to the queue that color was all gone. Probably happened with half a dozen colors as we were trying to get my order done.
  21. Awesome to hear… That’s what I was shooting for, something super versatile. I’ll probably also throw some frogs and some mega-sized topwater crawlers on it as well.
  22. Round two. First time I’ve ordered from 7 Palms but they had a ton of stock I couldn’t find elsewhere, prices were good, and shipping was reasonably fast all things considered. Also got in the Tequila Baccarac I ordered from TW during the sale. Have a Met DC on order for this. Hoping this rod can really perform well across this wide range of weights. And the Twin Power also showed up for my new Wind Buster. I will get this one out and christen it tomorrow on some light jerk baits.
  23. Yeah, the WRM202 is a much better hook IMO. I also like their Spin Muscle hooks. As for Owner, I like their Mosquito hooks, their standard wacky hooks, and their Sniper finesse neko hooks. If you look at the design of all these hooks and compare the alignment of the hook point to the Decoy hook mentioned earlier, you can easily see why these would allow a better hookup ratio.
  24. Its just a very poorly designed hook. Look at how the point aligns with the eye and the gap between the two. Compare that to a similar hook by Owner or Hayabusa and think about how the differences might relate to hookup ratio.
