  1. LOL that was a good one.

My superstition is that I don't take a shower before I go out fishing. I don't remember how this started. If I fish starting later in the day (after I have taken a shower) I usually don't do as well.
  3. I live in Minnesota. I have seen it on OLN during weekdays between the hours of 7-10am. I can't remember the exact time. Good show.
  4. Im planning to work on getting more confident using crank baits. In the past I have only used Rattle Traps. I want to be able to use all kinds of crankbaits by the end of the season. I also want to fish more deep structure more this year. I figure this will also help me learn crankbaits.
  5. I am predicting my best this year will be 5 Lbs. I would like to break my personal best of 5Lb 7oz but I am predicting a tough year here in Minnesota.
  6. Awesome fish!! I get really jealous when I see fish that big because I know I will probably never get the chance at one. I live in Minnesota where the fish rarely get over 6Lb. Consider yourselves lucky to be living where you live.
  7. I would probaby guess that I fish 75% finesse and 25% power. I caught most of my keepers using the finesse baits last year in my club tournaments.
  8. I have a 16 ft aluminum v hull and I have a 40Lb thrust Minnkota trolling motor. How many batteries should I have for my trolling motor? I usually fish lakes but I want to start fishing on the Mississippi River and on an electric motor only lake this year. I have heard that the current effects the battery.
  9. I would poop my pants.
  10. G Man! Gerald Swindle. He just makes me laugh.
  11. The best way I have learned new baits and techniques is not bringing the lures you are comfortable with along. Last year for two days in a row I focused on fishing just with a jig. Now it is one of my "go to lures". I did the same thing the year before with soft plastics. I wasnt confident using any plastic before. I spent a day or two focusing on the plastics only and became more familiar with the lures.

  13. I voted occassionally. I can definately say that I don't consider it one of my "go to baits" but I still throw it at least once every time out. Its good for at least a fish or two.
  14. Awesome pictures! I would love to have that opportunity. It would be interesting to see what kind of crap you could find on the bottom right after they drain it.

Thanks for the quick and detailed answers! I am going to have to do some shopping. Thanks again!
  16. Nice work John. I didn't see anything that I would change.

Hey all, I was in the hobby shop the other day looking at airbrushes. How do I know which one to get? I don't want to spend $150. What do I look for in a quality one?
  18. Very nice work! I'm impressed.
  19. Nice job guys. Last summer I made my own jigs (no pic yet though). I want to try my own crankbaits this year. It looks like a lot of fun.
  20. I fish in the club level for tournaments. I still consider myself a recreational fisherman. I am a very competitive person, but I dont get bent out of shape when I lose.
  21. Hey Steltz, I have 3 Pinnacle baitcasters and I love them! I just bought the Matrix II and I really like it. My opinion is that you can't go wrong with a Pinnacle. But that is just me.
  22. What's that old saying? 75% of fishing is half mental...or something along those lines.
  23. I have only driven there once. It took around 5 hours. But I have a Cabelas that is about 45 minutes from me.
  24. Are you fishing with the right end of the pole?
