  1. The "P" hole?!? HA...you think they could think of a better name for the hole.
  2. Driving a 1993 Chevy Suburban and love it! Haven't had to use 4x4 to pull the boat out. I dont think in the 20+ years I have been boating that I have used 4x4 on any vehicle to pull a boat out. Up here in Minnesnowta I would never buy 2x4. But thats just me.
  3. Personally I like fallen trees the best because of the different lures I am able to use. Spinnerbaits are my favorite to use for falldowns. Crankbaits can also be very productive.
  4. I live in Minnesota. My biggest SM was 3 to 4#, and my biggest LM was around 6#. I just started fishing tournaments last year and my biggest 5 fish stringer was around 7#. I have'nt figured out the secret to the bigger fish yet.
  5. Welcome Catnip! Im sure you will have plenty to add to the board.
  6. 16ft Northpoint Troller Mirro Craft with a 25hp US Marine 35# Minnkota trolling motor and an Eagle depthfinder. In the process of gutting it and putting not rotten wood in it.
  7. Nice Boat!!! How did you get that little scratch on the side? JK!!!
  8. I like to cut holes in the ice and fish!
  9. Everyday I work I sign on. I usually check it numerous times during a 12 hour shift.
  10. I think the best way to describe skipping under structure is to think about casting the same way you would skip a rock. Sidearm or underhanded throw/cast. It's all in the wrist. You don't need to cast it very hard to get it skipping very far. I do agree that the spincast is easier to learn on, but it is possible with a baitcast. Good luck!
  11. I will pray for them tonight also. What a sad situation.
  12. If you take them fishing and they aren't having a good time I think I would just push them in the lake.... Maybe they will like swimming instead.
  13. Did you at least yell FOUR when you dropped the knife?
  14. I didnt know there were people out there that hate fishing! One of the things I like about the Casting Kids program and Jr. Clubs is that it gives people education starting at a younger age. I belonged to a club last year that took the Jr. Club out fishing twice. Nobody caught very much that day but everyone still had a lot of fun.
  15. I think that 75% of Bass fishing is half skill!
  16. Sorry about that ... I fish in Minnesota. Biggest fish I have caught up here is a 5 Lb. Thanks again for all of the tips!
  17. All that info gives me a good place to start. Thanks guys!
  18. I would pick the 10 pounder!! Here in Minnesnowta that would give me the state record.
  19. Can anyone tell me how to catch bigger fish? Last year was my first year fishing club tournaments. I didnt have a problem getting a limit but I did have a problem catching fish with some size. Can anyone give me some tips or hints for catching those fish in the 2-4 pound range so I can throw back the fish in the 1-2 pound range. Any info will be appreciated.
  20. Here are some sites that might get you headed the right way. Just E-Mail somebody and tell them that you are interested in joining the club. Good Luck!! www.smallboatbassclub.com www.omahabassanglers.tripod.com www.nebraskabass.com
  21. My biggest bass was a 5 Lb. 4 oz. on a really shallow and weedy lake in Minnesota. It was mid July sunny and about 90 degrees. I got only one fish that day. Nothing was working so i was casting a skitter pop in the holes in the weeds. I twitched it once or twice than let it sit. The 5 pounder hammered it!!! I think it was around 1 p.m.
  22. Thank you all for your help. I am in the process of taking the old interior out of my boat now.
  23. Try looking at www.ncbass.com. Look at the Board of Directors page and drop one of them an E-mail.
  24. It's hard to tell by the description of the fish. I would try looking on a state website. Minnesota's is the Department of Natural Resources. They usually have pictures of the fish that can help you out.
  25. I am thinking about gutting my 16' aluminum fishing boat. It has a console. I had previously built a casting deck in the front within the last 4 years but now the flooring is rotting. Have any of you rebuilt a boat? What am I going to get my self into? Is there some type of durable material better than wood that i can use for the flooring and the decks? Thanks in advance!
