  1. They're my favorite jig trailer right now.

They are also a great searching tool. I like to make long casts and Yo-yo them back to the boat. I like the Megabait spoon and the Pirk minnow by Terminator. The treble does have a tendency to catch the line but you can eliminate this problem by taking it off and use the little Gamakatsu assist hooks at the head of the lure.
  3. Bang Pure Crawfish.
  4. I understand that it is considered a saltwater bait but look at it. The rust proof hooks are just the same black nickel finish that most quality hard baits come with. The "six saltwater patterns" look identical to the patterns found on the freshwater X-Rap with the exception of maybe number 50. But even that pattern doesn't look like a mullet or a mackerel. I am just saying that the only thing that makes this a "salt water" bait is that that is how they are marketing it.
  5. What makes that bait look more like a saltwater bait fish than a freshwater one? Are you saying this just because you saw it in the Saltwater Sportsman catalog? Come on man.
  6. All the time!! I agree with fourbizzle. There is nothing better than nailing a jig fish in the back of heavy cover while blasting G&R's "Welcome to the Jungle."
  7. How can you complain about paint falling off if you are a Dodge guy? Just kidding, I drive a Dodge too, I just had to say it. I think that the Vibrashaft is a good bait at a decent price. I have one and I personally haven't had an experiences were the paint came off the head.
  8. Poe's 400 baby!!!!
  9. I have a 15+ but I don't know the name of the pattern. It has a white belly, yellow sides, and a red back. It gets deep for it's size and I have had some luck with it. Not my number one but I still like it.
  10. The bait you posted looks pretty neat. My best producing Buzzbaits are the Wareagles. $3.99-$4.99 at most places and they cast well, make good noise right out of the pack, and they stay on top very well. Like Zimmy said, be sure to use a trailer hook.
  11. Everyone is right, it just depends on what the fist want at the time. Of course I like what Skinny Bear says, "Elephants eat peanuts!"
  12. The 5" Florida Bass Super Spook has caught a lot of fish for me.
  13. I love the stinger hook in the back of that bait.
  14. Here is my experience. Pointers, Staysee, G-Splash, Bevy Shad, No Sammy, Splash Tail, CB 20, Flash Minnow, Worth every penny. Again, this is just from my experience.
  15. Zebco 33!!!! J/k I can't stand to go out without one of my Morrum 1600's. Hands down all time favorite.
  16. Great! Thanks for the info :] Gave it to you? Man you lucky dog. I am getting $40 off and I thought that was a good deal.
  17. I know it is off topic but just so everyone knows, those guys in Dixon are a joke and in no which way, shape, or form do they represent Socal guys and gals.
  18. I am debating purchasing this rod to use with large spinner baits (.5 oz and up) and I was wondering if anyone out there has used this rod. Any comments are appreciated. The 7ft one. Not the flipping rod. Thanks :]
  19. I think it is increasing at a depressing rate. The elite series is just as big of a "you know what" as Nascar. Wrapped boats? IMO the industry and sponsorships are killing it. Fishing shows that I used to enjoy watching are now no more than 23 minute commercials with 7 minutes of other commercials breaking it up. I know I am being overly negative but I have to vent to someone right ?
  20. No more than two total in fresh water. I believe you can have more in salt water.
  21. X-Tools are great. Makes culling fish a joy instead of a royal pain. If you don't want all the crazy features of the X-tool scale, the Rapala 50lb has worked for me. Last summer a group of us compared our scales at the ramp after we were showing off our day's hogs. Two guys had X-tools, my Rapala, and another guys Berkely. They were all within an ounce of each other on a 6lb fish.
  22. Trust me on this one RW, it's the GYCB Fat Ika. I am sure there are some of the socal boys on here that can back me on this one. Especially those who fish Lake Perris. They lowered the water there and if you walk the d**n, you can see that it is full of Fat Ikas with rusted 4/0 and 5/0 EWG hooks in them. That bait is a staple at that lake. I am not trying to say "oh, look at us, we're so cool because we have been fishing these for years." It's more like "d**n you guys are lucky." It used to be a magic bait, especially at night. But now I get just as many fish with a T-rigged ribbon tailed worm or a jig. Just like when the Senko first came out.
  23. Glad that is true for the rest of the country. Here in southern California you see everyone from the tourney anglers to the newbies throwing them. It's been that way for the last 3 or 4 years. Guys even use them in salt water out here.
  24. Yeah we did manage to get off topic. But The_Natural was right. You have to always be shopping. You are not going to find a place that has an everyday price that is substantially lower than Bass Pro, Wal-Mart, or any of the other major dealers. However, if you keep an eye out for sales at the online sites like Taklewarehouse, Bass Pro, Cabelas, FFO, Gofishin, etc... you will find some great deals. Many of the manufactures sell over stock on their own sites like GYCB and Assalt. To go back off topic real quick, 5 bass, I have bought plenty of Lucky Crafts and other high end baits I understand how Rapalas are a great value. What I was trying to say is that I remember when Rapalas were the expensive baits at most dealers.
  25. I can't believe that I Rapalas are now considered a value. I can remember when forking out $6+ for a Rapala seemed like a lot, and I'm only 25. I can't imagine what someone who remembers when the Shad Rap was introduced thinks.
