  1. Gee Muddy, even on those few occasions when you are being serious you still make me laugh
  2. Something just doesn't seem right to me about that arugument. I know that Calorlina Lunker Sauce preaches about water soluability all the time in their advertisements but I don't see oil disolving in the air and I can sure smell it. But maybe I am wrong. Perhaps I should ask the Professor.

I have used them for the last three years but I only do good with them when fished with a jighead inside like a normal tube. Can't buy a bite when I dropshot or split shot them. Fine baits but I wouldn't pay an inflated price on ebay for them. I used to love their original swimbaits that where solid instead of a tube like the baits you are talking about.

Those Persuaders are good baits. The huge flat heads keeps it up nice.
  5. The only trailers I use are twin tail grubs like you mentioned or a Sweet Beaver. Not that other trailers don't work, I just do well with these. I keep four colors of each. Black, Purple, Watermelon, and Green Pumpkin. I like the twin tail when I am fishing ledges or fishing fast and I use the Beaver when I am fishing slower.
  6. I have to agree with Roadwarrior 100% on this one. I just realized that I messed up and voted for the wrong one.
  7. I do pretty much the same thing as Shad master but I will stay close to the shore for a little while after the sun hits the water and fish the shallows with a fluke or a jerkbait for an hour or so before moving out. Find the shoreline that is closest the spots where you catch your daytime/afternoon fish and you should do alright.
  8. My girlfriend has this rod and I have barrowed it a couple of times and I do love it. I have never used it with a jig that had a brush gaurd but I've used it with 1/4-1/2oz spider jigs/hula grubs with open hooks and had a great hook up ratio.
  9. I would use it for sure. I found one of my old boxes that had a bottle Dr. Juice in it from fifteen years ago. I put some on a jig the other day and caught fish with it. I don't know that the old sent helped but I know it didn't hurt.
  10. You know KB I haven't had much luck with that style of frog out here. I probably just need to fish them more. I'm going to take this a motivation to try it tomorrow morning before work. Thanks.
  11. If you can, get yourself a good cranking stick and a baitcaster with a 5 to 1 gear ratio. I use a TD-S 7ft cranking rod with a 5 to 1 Lews Speed spool and I have thrown DT 16's and other deep cranks all day with ease.
  12. I haven't tried the Mullet yet. I have only thrown the regular. If you buy some of the regulars let me know what you think.
  13. I know a lot of guys on here swear by them but I personally don't like them. I "feel" like I don't get bit as much with them but I think it is just a mental thing. I swap them out for Owners or Gamakatsus whenever I want a color pattern that comes with those hooks.
  14. I agree, I have never been dissapointed with a Revenge bait. I especially like their spinner baits but when it comes to a football head jig I would suggest a Skinny Bear. By far my favorite jig. Try it with a Sweet Beaver trailer and you'll get bit. I don't know what the lakes are like by you but this time of year can be great for dragging a 3/4-1oz football around structure in 20+ feet out here in Southern Cal.
  15. I like to use the heads that BPS sells with the screw lock in a 3/16oz head with the Zoom shakey worm. The curl tail on that worm is great. It is almost like the GYCB curly tail but better because the tails don't rip off.
  16. It would be hard to tell because it has been my experience that when fishing cranks or other baits with multiple trebles, the fish may start off being hooked in one part of the mouth but during the battle a hook may come out and rehook in another part of the mouth. This seems to be true no mater how good the hooks are.
  17. Really? What kind of Florocarbon do you use? I use tweleve pound for my senkos and I have tried about five different brands but I never have good knot strength. I DS with 6lb Cuda which is Florocarbon coated and I use a Palomar on that all the time with great results.
  18. Aaron Martins uses an improved clinch knot when drop shotting because he uses florocarbon. Florocarbon and palomar knots don't go well together. They tend to break. Good luck with the drop shot and don't limit yourself to what everyone else it doing. My girlfriend slays em by drop shotting a 7.5" curly tail with a #2 Gamakatsu drop shot hook. Creature baits, senkos, flukes, try it all. Spinnerbait trailers work too.
  19. Ok, I can understand that it would be hard to believe that a carp wouldn't eat a duckling but to say that they don't eat meat is just wrong. Carp are omnivorous, not vegetarians. I have caught them on jigs, drop shots, and my girlfriend even caught one on a shallow crank, and no it wasn't snagged either.
  20. I like to retie every time because I am usally running cranks and jerks in rocks and other cover. By retieing each time I change baits I am removing any frayed line.
  21. If a bass is willing to jump out of the water to eat a dragon fly I have no doubt in my mind one would try to jump out to ****** a bird. I have had bass jump at least 6" out of the water to nab a yellow frog I had hanging form a branch. I also used to have a 75gl tank that housed an Arrowana, a Largemouth, and a Peacock Bass. I would hold shad by the tail about 4-6" above the water and all three of them would jump out of the water to grab the shad. It don't think bass chase birds on a regular basis but I sure believe they would.

I have one that is black with a red tail and large silver glitter on it that is a killer night bait for me. Very wide wobble. I have never tried one during the day. I would keep one in the package. I have seen the original (pre rapala) storms go for a lot of money on ebay.
  23. Black-Grape 7.5" Curlytail, Texas rigged Tenn shad Husky Jerk Pumpkinseed Spittin' Image Salt and Pepper 4" worm, Drop shot
  24. Black and Silver Rapala Skitter Prop by far. It doesn't cast as well as baits like the Splash Tail but it catches way more fish.
  25. Yeah me to! But sometimes its a little too sensitve and I set the hook to early if you know what I mean
