Not the only reason I love her, but...
Thanks for the kind words. I'm a lucky man for sure.

Not the only reason I love her, but...
it is sure one of them. She is a 5'10" fishing machine! Two weekends ago my girl and I went out for a little bank fishing and the rain came down hard. I caught one dink on a drop shot and that was it for five hours of fishing. It told her one more cast and we would head in to grab lunch. I got my cast in, turned around to walk up the ramp and I hear an explosion next to the shore. She had this on the end of her line. She caught it by working a homemade shallow diving, flat sided crank like a jerkbait. Got the pics but forgot to weigh it.

10minute outing
Nice fish! God how I miss Florida!!! I can remember runing back and forth from the water to the car as the isolated T-stroms would come through. I have goose bumps just thinking about it.

New Lure Color = GREAT DAY!(PicS)
Nice. I too wish I had a pond like that around my house. At least one that is legal to fish

Steven Segal has fallen a long long way...
Anyone who puts his thumbs into the eyesockets of a drug dealer in his movies is OK with me. I haven't seen any of his new stuff, the last movie of his that I saw was Fire Down Below or something like that. I would have to say that I really enjoy his movies. Its all about good guys overcoming the bad guys which is something you don't see that much anymore. What I would consider evil or bad behavior is now everywhere on TV and movies. The worst part is that they glorify it. It really makes me sad :'( But to get back to the energy drink, you have to admit, its pretty darn funny.

One Day, Five Hours Driving, Two Lakes, Four Fish.
My buddy and I decided to skip a tourny and spend the weekend doing some fun fishing. Headed down to the San Diego area to spend the weekend fishing down there. Got to the first lake Firday morning and found out that the lake that we were going to fish on Saturday was closed so we figured that we would just fish the same lake for two days. Spent half the day at El Capitan and it was slow. Some small drop shot fish and only two keepers by 12:30. We decided to just head home and catch a couple of hours in the afternoon at our home lake and then we would head to a Ventura County Lake on Saturday. I ended sticking two keepers at our home lake. I'll post Saturday's report once I load the pics. First fish Friday morning. Caught on a Spittin Image Second fish. Caught on a DD22 Two fish from the afternoon. Big one was six and some change. Both on a Spittin Image.

That one moment,...you knew
When I was in five I went out with my dad, brother, and sister. I was using the classic red and white bobber with a chunk of night crawler on an eagle claw snelled hook. I still remember watching the bobber get pulled under and I missed the first one. But that day I caught a bluegill that was 6.5" and a largemouth that was 6". That same year I got my first subscription to Bassmasters and it has been my life ever since.

Bass Fishing games for the PC
I have to disagree, it's all about The Black Bass for NES!!! As far as a PC fishing game goes, my favorites are Trophy Bass I & II. I absolutly hate the new one that Bass Pro put out. By trying to make it realistic they just made it look lame.

Anywhere in San Diego have the following species?
There are a couple of Northern California Lakes that have pike and they are doing everything they can to get rid of them. As for smallies, the closest lake to you would be Diamond Valley over in Hemet. It will probably be over and hour drive though.

So Cali fishing?
Hey Jeremy, hit me up when you head out this way. I am about an hour and a half north of there but I spend a lot of time fishing SD bay for Spotted Bay Bass and Halibut. There are also a few lakes that I am pretty familiar with down there. One way or another we'll catch some.

Not the usual....w/ pics
And the last pic looks more like a muskie than a pike but I can't tell for sure. Regardless of all that, those are great looking fish! Good job!

Sam Adams Octoberfest
I love the Octoberfest. Not only is it a good beer but whenever I order one I know that it won't be long before the Winter Lager is out... which is by far my favorite!

St. Croix vs. Loomis
That's why I buy St. Croix, I've never had one break. I almost crushed my Legend Tournament DS rod with my garage door two weeks ago. It was bent in a U and put a 12" scratch down the side of the blank through the blue gel coat exposing the graphite. Took it out that weekend and stuck a 6.5lb on it that had me wrapped up in trees. I had to really pull on this fish and the rod stood up great!

St. Croix vs. Loomis
You're right Ronnie, I forgot that St. Croix came out with that cheap line of rods. But those aren't the rods I am talking about. The Avids and the Legend tournament and elite are made in the US by an American owened comapany where as the profits of Loomis rods are going to a Japanese company. When I compare the performance of the rod, the price, and the that fact that it is made here, St. Croix comes out on top in my book. As far as reels go, all of the fly reels that Loomis offers are made overseas as well. I figured that their rods were no longer made here because they don't mention it anymore. It's hard to find US made stuff anymore and I am glad to know that Loomis rods are still made here. I am in the manufacturing industry and I am constantly bombarded by sales people wanting us to move production overseas and it sickens me! I can't always buy US made but I do whenever I can.

Did i get a bad Revo?
I have that same reel and it casts like a dream for me. I would have to second Raul's question.

St. Croix vs. Loomis
Personally, I'm a St. Croix fan. But you can't go compairing a an Avid to an IMX or GLX. They are in completely different price ranges. Compare your Avid to a Loomis that is in that price range or the IMX or GLX to a Legend Tournament or Legend Elite. It has been in my experience that I have always gotten the best bang for my buck when I go with a St. Croix. Loomis are good rods but I can get an equally good rod that is owned and made in the US for less money by going with a St. Croix. But like DanekM said, both companies offer rods that the other doesn't.

Getting warmed up :-)
Nice! I was out fishing Coyotee Point a few months ago and I was using my UL with 2lb and a little bead head nymph to catch shiner perch for bait. While I was reeling in one of the perch, a four pounder hit it and got hooked. Hell of a fight. Bet you had fun with yours! Those SW stripers fight much harder than the land locked ones.
