I throw most of my cranks on this Lews BB25SS 4 Ball Bearing 5.5:1 Gear Ratio Not the best looking but you couldn't ask for a better cranking reel. Especially for deep cranks.

I had a M 6' HMX spinning rod that was very nice. Light, sensitive, and strong. I gave it away because I don't like using a rod that short. If it was 6'6" I would have kept it for sure.

Rapalas seem to have a thicker clear coat than the Bagleys that I have. The only problem I have ever encountered with Rapala finishes is on some chrome fat raps and shad raps. They seem to take on water because the chrome turns to a cream color.

I have also had some great sucess with blade baits. My favorite is the Lucky Craft Cymbal Vibe. It is a little lighter than most blades but the action on the fall is just awesome.

I use a TD-S Cranking rod for most of my cranking and it performs great! I also have a 7ft ML BPS crankin' stick I mainly throw lipless cranks on. It's an OK rod but great for the price.

A four pounder is a good fish anywhere at any time of the year. Way to go 5lb!

Here I am. Thanks for the concern there. I've been so busy at work that I haven't had much time to run surf this place lately. I'm like capt'n cali, the fires were 30 miles away from me but I did have to evacuate due to fires back in 02. 80% of the shore line and surrounding hills of one of my favorite lakes burnt down. It's going to be pretty ugly when the rains come.

Thanks for sharing with us. The hopkins/worm reminds me of one of those wobbling eel baits people use for stipers. I've had a lot of luck with the spoon by casting it out and leting it sink to the bottom, then pulling it up and letting it flutter back down and just do that all the way back to the boat. Covers more water that way.

I like the Hot Sauce oil for Bearings and Ardent Reel Butter Grease for the rest.

I forgot all about those things. I used to fish the Eel River a lot and I can still remember squeezing those to death when I'd catch them. I despise Monkeys. I don't know why, they just bug the hell out of me when I see them on TV.

Hey hey hey, calm down there boy. I didn't say they should have shown mercy, they should have shown some class. It's like being in a street fight. You don't show mercy, but once you've knocked your opponent down to the point where he's not getting up you can either A) Show some class and help if back up and say nice fight or start kicking the crap out of him while he is on the ground. If you think we should just let teams in pro sports just run up the score then why do they stop the game in baseball if the winning team is up at bat in the bottom of the ninth. Why not just let them have at it? They still have three outs to use up right? Why not let them prove what hot shots they are?

I would have to say that the Pats showed no class. SD could have done the same thing to Houston on Sunday but they kept it cool and didn't continue smashing them in the second half and let Houston keep some dignity.

Way to go there I lip em bare handed and it does tear you up a bit but not bad enough to stop me from doing so.

Same goes for Salmon fishing up north. They bite the Salmon off just behind the head so all you get is a head with the intestines hanging out.

I stuck the fish in my left hand on my TBC69MLXF with 6lb cuda. It went six and some change. I also caught an 11lb blue cat with it. I am sure the Avid would stand up just as well.

That's great to win on a day when it's a tough bite. Anyone can go out there and have a chance at winning when the fish are chewing, but to win on a day like that, now that says something!
