  1. You are right! I can remember when Woo won a BASS tournament by pitching a Phenom Worm with a spincaster.
  2. PM sent Brotha.
  3. Each member has a certain label under their name and each one is based on the number of posts that member has made. But if you look at the labels, not a single one references the knowledge or skill level of the fisherman or woman. I believe that the excellent BR staff has it set this way on purpose.
  4. Mann-o-lure. They still make them. I was at a tackle shop in northern California on Sunday and they had them hanging on the wall. It's probably a Hopkins smoothie. Here is a link. http://www.tackledirect.com/hopsmootlur.html The spoon that BPS is advertising as "Free-style" spoons are a freshwater adpatation of the "butterfly spoons" that have been used for deep water salt water fishing. I have been useing the Gamakatsu stinger hooks on megabait, hopkins, and war eagle spoons for two years now and while it is a geat remedy for catching your line on your treble, I perfer an EWG treble. And BTW, I don't care for the BPS spoons.
  5. I may sound a little out dated but I still like craw worms. Most any brand will do except the Yamamoto craws. They make good baits but it has been my experience that they tear way to easy for flipping the heavy stuff. I used to love the Riverside Big Claw. By the way, do you guys know if Mister Twister still makes the fighting craw?
  6. Still waiting for someone by me to carry them. They have them in the Bass Pro catalog but they don't have them in the store by my house. Non of the other tackle shops I frequent have them either. Looking forward to trying it though.
  7. Nice fish man! I just checked out the Dirty Jigs site. Nice looking jigs. I like the Pumpkinseed Bream skirt. Looks a lot like the Lil' Hustler Bluegill pattern.
  8. Looks like I really missed out this weekend It doesn't suprise me that you stuck that fish on a trick worm. Down here in the "put and take" lakes where they stock 10lb+ trout, there are guys who do very well with 7" powerworms.
  9. That is sweet you made it down here. I know you have been looking forward to checking it out.
  10. Nice 5lb. When I was a kid I used to use my UL setup and fish the small twin tailed beetle spin bodies weightless. I could get it walk under the water. Bass and big redear used to chew it up
  11. My Dad has a couple of old "Spots" that have the same gold stick on eyes and the same texture on the body. These were before the "Super Spots"
  12. Most people would have never started fishing if it wasn't for those.
  13. ;D ;D ;D That's a good one Rayre. Lets see, one makes bad music and the other makes bad plays... hmm. Looks like a lose lose Brokejew, think you should stick to fishing Just messing around. I'm actually a 9er fan.
  14. Yeah, I am heading up to Millbrae tomorrow afternoon and will just be up until Sunday. Don't know if I will have a chance to do any fishing. Maybe for a couple of hours on Saturday morning. I'll send you a PM this evening.
  15. Anything from a BR advertiser or suggested by a BR member. Just kidding. I can't think of a manufacture out there that is so horrible that you should boycott everything they make. Sure some products turn out to be junk but not even everyones favorite Lucky Craft is free from junk baits. I've even caught fish on Cactus Jack's bleeding crankbaits. Yes, the ones they sold on TV with the sent tablets.
  16. Looks a lot better than the BBZ-1. (Not that the BBZ-1 is the best out there or anything) Can't wait to toss one of those around. Thanks for the heads up on these.
  17. Non taken, she wasn't that long. Just a short chunky northern Nice Brokejew, now I know where to go when I head up to the Bay area this weekend
  18. Oh wait, I just realized his name is Brokejew. :-[
  19. I think those fish are at least 30% larger than that. The fish in my avatar went over 6lbs and it doesn't look that much bigger than his. Unless of course Brokejaw is only 5'1" ;D
  20. Nice fish bro! I have that same sweater. Looks like I'm not the only one spending too much money on TW.
  21. I have never fished New Mexico but I would suggest heading out in March and just cover water with a jerkbait. That's my favorite early season thing to do.
  22. Yeah, it looks just like a footloose to me. Even has the triple grip on the front that comes stock on those baits. Or at least they used to.
  23. You can find reels that have more features in the same price range but I don't think that any of them are better reels. IMO it is like the Ambassadeur of spinning reels.
  24. Just call the guys at TW. They are always extremely helpful whenever I have a question like this.
  25. This is true except for the "swirl colors" that Kanami offers. Those are not made in the same factory according to guys at the Yamamoto both at the 06 Bassathon.
