I have a three foot paddle in my Tracker. It's completely useless, but the law says I have to have a paddle.

Just a thought, but have you considered the Atchafalaya Basin? It's only thirty minutes away. With modern electronics, hardly anyone gets lost in there anymore.

Ahem? I had a hundred foot cord and two twenty-fives, with splitters. I think Scott had a two-hundred footer. I have no idea how many feet the other boaters carried, but we managed, barely. And now, Mr. Ahemer, how many feet of cord did you, personally, bring with you?

I had a similar problem once but was able to cure it by repeatedly squeezing the bulb. Come to find out, the bulb/fuel line was sucking air. Once I replaced it, everything was fine.

unhbass, I paid $4500 for my '89 two years ago, primarily because the 60 hp Johnson was newly rebuilt. To tell you the truth, I don't mind if my boat leaks. That's what bilge pumps are for. I love my old leaky boat. BTW, jmorgan, as the old adage says "It is better to remain silent and let people think you are a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Joe, with respect, Kenlake lodge was the most boater unfriendly place I've ever been to. Yes we all managed to get our boats parked (on the muddy lawn) and yes, most of us were able to recharge our batteries from only three outlets. Unfortunately, I was one of the unlucky ones whose outlet failed. After two hours on the water the next day I had no power to my TM. If it weren't for the foresight of several members who had with them over 400' of extension cords and splitters, it would have been a disaster. For that reason, and others, I believe that Glenn will confirm that Kenlake Lodge will never again be the site of the annual BR get-together.

The problem is that lazy people want instant gratification, so they don't even bother trying to research the wealth of information provided here. They just blindly post a question that has probably been asked, and answered, a hundred times before. An equally severe problem is that other members actually bother to answer the very same repeated questions - and I plead guilty to having done the same. With 20,000 registered members, there will be a huge percentage of the lazy who ask previously answered questions - and there will be a huge percentage of those not-so-lazy who will be more than willing to provide a response. Maybe a great big red flashing sticky would help, but I doubt it.

Chris, if you'll pay the freight charges I'll ship you my Ark. I got it finished just before we got 7" of rain. I didn't have time to load a bunch of animals, but I did see a couple of Hooters girls walking up the gangway. ;D

trackers are welded, there are no rivets. My 1990 Tracker is put together with rivets and leaks like a sieve. I don't know when Tracker started making welded hulls, but I guarantee you it was after 1990.

Glenn, when I read that you had won, I walked into the den to tell my wife. As soon as I uttered the words Kentucky Derby, she started telling me a story about one of her clients. The client's parents were heading for the Derby, so he handed them a thousand dollars to bet on a horse that he KNEW was going to win. Well, being somewhat elderly, they put the money on the wrong horse. He won fifty grand!

I was about to complain about it, but when I think about threads that go on for umpteen pages, I have to agree with Glenn. Just the Road Trip sticky alone is up to seventy-eight pages. As for that asinine "post something about the poster above you" thread, only an idiot would try to download all of the pages. Good move, Glenn!

I agree with Muddy. I have two BPS Extremes that I still use. They are a great reel for the money, even if not bought on sale. The ability to adjust the break externally is a great plus for a Novice. I don't hesitate to recommend it.

It may have been cheaper if the dogs had been taken to the Humane Society instead of to the Human Society. Those humans hate it when animals are brought in. ;D ;D ;D

Did you drain the gas after last season? If you didn't, you will have to remove the gunk from your carberator.

All I can tell you is that adding a hydrofoil (Doelfins) to my 60 hp Tracker made a huge difference in my hole shot. As for top end speed or changes in handling, I don't know. It's my first boat, and I was too new at it to look for those nuances. BTW, when I'm alone, my GPS top speed is 38 mph. Not bad for a little 17' tin boat.
