How long does it take you to get ready?
I agree with WRB. Preparation for the next fishing trip begins with the end of the last trip. Anywhere from one to four hours for me, depending on what needs to be done.

The best day I have ever had.
Went fishing last week at a private game reserve in NE Missouri called Trophy Country. The first day went OK, but on the second day, on a different lake, Ghoti and I boated about sixty bass! Most were in the one to three pound range. The great majority of the bass were caught on Rage Tail Space Monkeys. I used the SMs on an Evolution shaky-head jig. The Monkeys were soaked for a week or so in JJ's magic. Ghoti T-rigged his without JJ's and did just as well or better. Those bass seemed to love those baits! Thanks to Big-O and Rage Tail for such great lures. One point I would like to make is that I have little experience fishing a jig. I knew the bite would be subtle, but I had no idea how subtle it could be. I truly believe that the JJ's scent caused the bass to hang on to the lure just long enough for me to feel their presence an then set the hook.

Burley is no longer the Dinkmaster
For what it's worth, the hat is made by Colombia Sportswear. The black part around the hat is actually a mesh that allows air movement across the head. The underside of the brim is made of black material to reduce glare. I bought it at Academy Sports.

The Back In Time thread
In the past I lived the moment, for good or bad. There are things I would have done differently, but the past is the past.

Real important stuff here.....
If I'm going to cook steaks, I use charcoal. If I'm going to slow cook something like ribs, or cook for a group, I use gas. If I'm going to smoke something like a roast or turkey, I use my smoker. Three pits on one 12'x12' patio.

Burley is no longer the Dinkmaster
I tackled a little old lady and took it away from her. With the exception of that trailer ball perched on the end of my nose, the hat shades my entire head. Besides, I lost my coon-skin cap.

Ways to Observe Memorial Day
I do nothing special other than pause and remember. It's enough for me. I remember.

Burley is no longer the Dinkmaster
This little guy definitely bit off more than he could chew. He's hooked in both the mouth and the dorsal fin.

electronics question.
The answer is yes - and no. The sound waves from the transducer work only in liquid, so theoretically, a transducer pulse hitting an air bladder would not be reflected back to the transducer, thus leaving an area of the screen where no data would appear. However, the air bladder always seems to have a fish surrounding it that will provide plenty of reflection, so the bladder is never "not seen" by the transducer.

Lowrance
I'm amazed that you have not already visited the Lowrance website. They offer a LOT of information on their site, plus their help board is exceptional. Just don't try to call them and talk to a live person - unless have nothing better to do for the next hour or so.

Boat Buddy. Good or bad?
Most everything I've read says it's a P.O.S.

Burley's Random Photo of the Day - Killin' time...
BL, I'm surprised that there aren't a bunch of pretty girls around begging for your favors. A hunk like you deserves so much more!

Need some advice please
I agree with Skillet. Any time you can wet a hook is the right time. As a young man, any lure you are comfortable with is the right one. Go fishing!

Upgrading my Electronics
Jack, I would recommend the Fishy-Wishy 25, made by Matell. It's much more suitable for someone of your skill level.

Bass Boat Crash
Unfortunately, there is no cure for STOOPID. His mother must have insisted on the PFD and kill switch.

**4th Annual BR RoadTrip--VIDEO**
Great job Russ, as usual. To be honest I slowed the playback speed down to get a better look at the pictures. Laughed my butt off when I heard Big-O and JJ talking about their products at half speed. I knew they were mentally challenged to begin with, but the half speed video confirms it. ;D

And they say the internet is useless..
So, I suppose you solved the problem by flipping that little switch from Heat to Cool, didn't you?

Best spining reel 50-100$
There is no "best." There are only opinions on what an individual considers to be the best.

How well do bass see braid?
I use braid on every reel I own. I also use a flouro leader on every one of them. Fish Chris uses a Blood Knot. I use a Stren Knot. Neither of us has ever had the knot fail when tied correctly, and neither of us has had any problems with the knot going through the guides. So, if bass can see braid under certain conditions, why give them the opportunity of shying away from the bite? Use a leader.

Re: Best fluorocarbon for fishing cover???
You start a poll on Flouro, but give the respondents only three choices? How are you going to find out which is the Best line (assuming there is such a thing) with such a limited number of choices? As far as I'm concerned, your poll is useless for gaining any meaningful data.
