A half inch of ice is worth calling a state of emergency. A half inch of ice brings down trees and power lines in droves. Any ice at all on the roads will result in auto accidents that kill or maim people. Give me six inches of snow vs a half inch of ice any time. Six inches of snow is a PITA, but at least you can drive in it.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have been trying fervently to locate a Mom & Pop (no fast food) restaurant that opens early enough to cater to fishermen who want a hot breakfast, yet is located no more than a ten-to-fifteen minute drive from the resort. The Doublehead will gladly cater breakfast, but we must guarantee a minimum of twenty-five people. In addition, breakfast will cost each individual about $12. I don't know about you folks, but $12 is a little too pricey for me, plus I doubt that most all of us will want to have breakfast. Therefore we can't guarantee twenty-five people. My hope is to find a place where the locals frequent; you know, where the farmers and ranchers hang out. No success yet. All help would be appreciated.

Marty, it's not so much the crappy weather that you folks up north get, it's the rapid changes that we have. Tonight the low here in Tulsa will be about 6. Tomorrow afternoon the high will be about 38. On Thursday the high will be pushing the seventies.

Do not rely upon the advice given on this forum to determine your ideal reel. Almost all are biased. Read the articles in our Fishing Articles section, and watch the videos, then find a rod and reel that feels good in your hands, and is in your price and buy it. There are a host of rod and reel manufacturers out there that will fit your criteria.

eo, I haven't used the Hevicore, but I use other Tuff-Line braid almost exclusively. I have a spool of 50# Hevicore that I will be trying out during the next several weeks on a trip to Mexico.

I can't speak for the Fenwick's as I don't own one. One the other hand, the Carbonlite is a sweetheart rod, comparing very well to rods selling for over twice the price.
