  1. The 17th is what Bass Pro told me yesterday as well, so now that you have read it on the internet twice, it has to be true.
  2. Well good luck to you. Nice to see the season getting closer.
  3. Check the sponsors list. Delaware Valley Tackle. Tons of great reviews.
  4. I do not like the ZMan weedless at all. Seems like I picked up more grass and moss on the weed Guard than without it. I am using the Siebert heads almost exclusively now because the hooks hold up.
  5. I absolutely love my new Fitzgerald rod so I will be replacing some of my old rods, Reels I have nothing but Shimano spinning, although my wife has a Pflueger I do like. BC is a mix of Daiwa and Lew's.
  6. To add to Roadwarrior's link, I buy all of my jigs from Siebert. One of the reasons for that is because they are big enough to offer good pricing and a large selection, but small enough that they can serve as more of a boutique vendor. In other words, if you send Mike an email about your specific water that you fish in, he has the experience to make a recommendation for you on color, size and specific model. If you really want to just dive in, go buy a Dredge Jig package for $15. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Dredge-Jig-Pack-455.htm This will be a minimal investment, you get to try the product out in several proven colors, and I guarantee you will have found your long term jig supplier.
  7. I do. Great entertainment to me.
  8. Do a Disney search. Within the past month or so, there was a pretty long thread covering most of this. In a nutshell, don't plan on walking around Disney bank fishing. Opportunities are very limited. Expand your search to Orlando fishing and you will find a lot of places to go.

Welcome. Other than the obvious PFD, that is a very broad question. Try to narrow your focus in regards to where you are fishing, how, and for what and repost the question in the boats and kayak forum. For example, if you occasionally fish for bass, but love paddling your kayak and trolling, an anchor trolley might not be the place to start.
  10. I'll be out with Steve Boyd of Florida Bass Adventures about a week before you. This will be my second year out with Steve. If I break 10, I'll make sure you and everyone else knows about it.
  11. With the terrible weather lately, this has been the status of my Sea Ghost 130. Up on racks, and getting prepped for the 2017 season. Are any of you fishing any of the KBF or KBS events this year? How about local kayak tournaments? I'll be fishing tournaments in Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Arkansas this year so far. Would love to meet some folks from the site.
  12. Tape is your friend when you are learning. Pull off some line that will be a bit more then the max you will be pitching then put tape on the reel. Now, when you practice, you will have very little line to backlash.
  13. I rarely use gybc senkos, but when I do, I use two o-rings and it does not seem to make any difference in hookups. I do however get to spend more time with my expensive worm rigging it before it gets torn in half when a bluegill swims by at a rapid pace.

    Welcome
  15. I'll side with the lazy theory since that is the reason I tie leaders as long as I do. I still think double digit leaders are a bit excessive though but if it works for you, it works for you.
  16. 7'3" MH F is a sweet spot for me with everything you suggested except frogs. I prefer a bit more length there. I have two of them set up with 8.1:1 Tatulas so I think you are on the right track in my eyes. I've got an extra brand new Black if your interested for a good price if you are happy with your current medium.
  17. What is the reason behind such long leaders? I fish a lot of clear water but can't recall ever tieing on a leader that was long enough to reach the reel. On a seven foot rod, that's a good eight to nine foot leader or longer.
  18. Bet that got the heart pumping a bit.
  19. My nephew Connor, who my wife and I raise, and his first bass caught on a spinnerbait. The funny thing about it is my 23 year old son is in town visiting and now wants to learn how to fish. He had no interest in it until Connor started talking about it. He is also obviously wearing a shirt in honor of @Catt
  20. I caught the three yesterday just south of you. All it takes is raingear, layering, and a little bit of luck that there won't be a 1/2" of ice on the water when you get there.
  21. Yea. Big Invisx fan myself. Welcome back Seaguar.
  22. I'm lazy. I use the Strike King EZ rigs so all I need to carry is a 200 yard spool of line.
  23. Not sure if this fits the rules, but I have three Mega Bass Pop Max lures, two of which have hit the water a handful of times, the third is a virgin. They do nothing for me so they sit in my topwater box and I ignore them.
