  1. Thanks for clearing that up. Seems like a strange setup to me but I guess its a great opportunity for those without boats to tourney fish.
  2. I fish jigs probably more than anything else and I like having 2 jig setups. I also have no where near $800 in them tho. Not even 300 combined. Your possibilities are endless
  3. Someone explain this to me cuz I honestly don't know. This whole boater non boater getting paired up, are they not fishing as a team?
  4. I do. 30 yards of mono and then a 100 yard braid leader connected with alberto knot
  5. Only show that really holds my interest is MLF
  6. I use my SI and GPS hand in hand. The GPS (along with a map card) shows me the structure/depth, Then I use the SI to inspect the structure for different types of cover(brush, rock) and also for baitfish. They are both very important tools for me
  7. Idk if you have ever had GPS or not but it is one of my most useful tools. I have the previous model helix 5 and I love it. Of course I want a bigger screen but for my budget it has definitely changed my fishing for the better.
  8. Thats awesome man! This was not the case for me this weekend lol.
  9. Definitely a wealth of information on here and some really good fisherman. Its also help me immensely. Lot easier getting answers on here than from other local guys who are worried about giving up info on there "secret spots" or "techniques"
  10. I use mono for cranking and top water. I've went to braid for all jigs and t-rig presentations. Only tried fluro once and hated it. Need to give it another shot with better quality line, I could live without it though
  11. You guys up north must be losing it, come to Alabama and I'll take you fishing. Maybe get some sanity back
  12. No pic? Well congrats. I also caught me first bass of the year today.
  13. They stay there because the area provides everything they need. They will stay as long as this is true. When something changes they will adjust accordingly.
  14. If you could made a log of all tackle sales in the country for the last 10 years, I think it would pretty much reflect what @Raul just said
  15. I've done it before. What do you want to know?
  16. Same here with 1/2 ounce although I picked up a few 3/4 oz tungsten 2-taps last fall and did well. I have many colors and they're all good. Just pick one and start fishing. As for retrieve all that you listed, I also like to fish it like a spoon when bass are busting on shad schools. I just throw it in the middle and let it shimmy to the bottom.
  17. The one they're biting I hope.
  18. Only thing I really try to make long cast with is a crankbait and Carolina rig. Too me a long cast is around 40-45 yards. This is just an estimate as I've never measured
  19. Seibert outdoors dredge brush jig for everywhere except grass(brown, green, orange, blue, black colors) Strike king hack attack swim jig (bluegills my favor color)
  20. Most of the stuff that contradicts are "theories". Much like any other area of life or science. It either can't be or hasn't yet been "proved"
  21. This is why I had mike at seibert make me a jig with blue, green, brown and orange. I may be totally wrong but I think bass get keyed in on a certain color sometimes and as long as your lure has that color somewhere on it that it will trigger a bite.
  22. now that does look like blue sapphire @Team9nine
  23. I don't know of any crayfish that is just blue. The craws change colors throughout the year in what is called molting. In Alabama they get some blue tints in certain areas of there body but are never completely blue. At least not to my knowledge. I want to add that I and many others regularly catch fish on black jigs with blue sapphire plastic craws. I think it has something to do with the color blue not disappearing at deeper depths like some other colors do
  24. The bass Jeff is holding at the top of this page disagrees with you, or maybe she thought it was so ridiculous she just had to kill it. Either way
  25. I do as well. And I'm using a 5.2.1 pro qualifier
