Learning experience trip today
As fishballer said bass might be on beds in the shallow water not trying to actually eat the brush hog just move it. I also prefer straight shank hooks and really cross their eyes on the hook set.

What's your follow up after spinnerbait?
Try a lipless crank, if you think a moving bait is key but spinners are normally a search tool for me so if I can see there are bass in the area then slow down with soft plastics and jigs

Pad Crashers
Black popper produces best most of the time for me. I also like sunburn and another color with a yellow belly that I can't remember. I had never used the all white frog until you sent it to me for fishmas. I will be giving it a go in the next month

Finding Balance
Indeed she needs a hobby of her own. My wife used to go with me every weekend but got burnout and now is painting. She still comes sometimes but we don't have any issues since we both have our own hobbies. Just make the time off the water count and every now and then take a weekend when the fishing's tough and do something she likes.

Running Time
All engines will have some carbon build up. Depending on age and how its been used you could always fog it with seafoam

Snap Swivel
Not at all but I've never found one I really liked. Its also still good practice to retie after catching a couple fish. Don't want to lose a giant over something stupid like that.

Screw-In Underspin
A screw lock with a blade screwed into the back of a plastic is called the MJ rig. You will find more info searching this name. I doubt there is a rig out there without a name lol, even if its only a small difference

Is a spincast reel still a legit option?
Where I grew up in Florida a lot of guys still use 808's for saltwater red fishing. Its probably not the best but they do the trick and don't cost much to replace if needed.

Several questions about craw worms
The difference your asking about seems to come down to action. Fast flapping claws vs more stiff subtle claws. I can't tell you when one works better than another only the bass know that. I definatley throw craws with fast action more. I like a rage craw, lobster and big bite baits swimming craw. All of these can be t-rigged or used for trailers. I also use zoom twin tail grubs as a jig trailer a lot when I'm trying to mimmick a craw.

what action are lightning shock rods?
The shock rods also advertise as being for super lines. Aka no stretch so I suppose the moderate action is suppose to compensate. I have 2 of them one medium 6'6 I use for top water and a 7ft MH I use for most cranks
-
what action are lightning shock rods?
I would definatley classify the shock series as moderate action. The original lightning rods were more fast action.

Jig skipping rod characteristics
Not even close to mastering this technique so I will answer only part of your question. Match the rod with your height. Not the same as your height but choose the length that allows you to underhand skip without throwing completely side armed. This allows you to utilize your wrist more than your arm. This is something I just learned from watching Andy Montgomery and wish i would have seen it sooner

Chatterbait first impression
It catches more fish if you call it a bladed jig

What do you do for a living?
Diesel mechanic, not for those with weak backs. Idk if there is such a thing as the perfect job. Anything you enjoy doing will turn into work and will lose its appeal so I would choose anything that you are good at and pays well. Make your life about the things you do away from work. When I die I hope no ones says he was a good mechanic. I would much rather them say he was a great witness for Christ, family man and fisherman.

I see BASS.
I'm sure someone with a definte answer will chime in but I've seen the same thing lately. Been seeing fry in the cove where I caught a bedding female about 10 days prior. I have a question to add to yours, How many fry come from a single bed?

Helix 9 depth indication problem
what is different about the other transducer? are you adding it or replacing your original tranducer?
-
Helix 9 depth indication problem
The depth finder is losing the bottom as you speed up. ive never had a depthfinder read bottom depth accurately over 10mph. I think some of the thru-hull transducers hold on to the bottom longer but I cant say that for sure. I believe some on here have stated they still get readings around 15mph but that has never been the case for me. Wayne should chime in soon

Best Worm For Weighted Wacky Jig Head ?
I haven't found any that wiggle quite like a senko but I still throw finesse worms and jelly worms weightless or wacky

River fishing for large mouth bass
@scaleface fishes the Mississippi I believe and does pretty well. Idk his experienced I am but I love fishing the Chattahoochee and do so often since I live so close to it. The main difference for me is on a ricer I am always fishing cover and throwing into the nastiest stuff I can find. I will also add that current plays a huge role in how the bass are positioned. The other thing that is very important but not mentioned is how close to the bank river fish will be. There are many undercuts and sometimes if my lure doesn't bounce off the bank I won't get bit.

MLF discussions
Boy that was a tough MLF to watch. Too bad for Chris lane getting a skunk. Just shows it happens to everyone. Anybody else not care for Dave lefebre? No big deal if he didn't want to give away his tackle but he clearly lied even to the camera guy. He had just said at the end off the period he was guna tie on a DT10 at the break lol

Rustoleum Bed Liner
My advice is to test it on something else first. It is not easy to remove if you changed your mind
