Bread & butter technique
Every so often there are topics similar to this but not quite. The thought came to me while i was watching some TV tournaments. Basically what is your bread and butter or comfort zone technique. If you were thrown onto a lake with any attribute you want, what are you going to be keying in on that perfectly fits your style? Any vegetation, structure or cover. What would you look for and how would you fish it? I realize other variables come into play and feel free to add weather, water clarity or wind if you like.

Pro qualifier anti reverse slipping?
I don't see why not since I've already had it out. Do you sell reel parts?

Looking at a 89 Stratos 20' with a 200hp mercury
Are you looking for a project or to go fishing? That's the question I would be asking. Nothing wrong either way just know that even most boats that go for around 5k will still need maintenance and tweaking to your style of fishing. I've owned several used boats and even the ones in great shape cost me money and time. Not all to be functional but so that I was happy with it.

Are smaller baits better to use for this?
The saying goes big bait= big fish I don't disagree but the right bait in the right place at the right time matters more.

Pro qualifier anti reverse slipping?
Well I took the bearing out and flushed. Seemed to be working well just turning the sleeve by hand but once it was back together I can still turn the crank backwards more than I should. Seems I might need a new bearing?

Have you ever found an under water spring ?
Depending on where you are in the country. I'm from Florida and there are literally springs everywhere. I don't know of any springs in my local lake of Alabama, but I do know of some spring fed creeks that pour into it. I wonder how you would find one since depth finders only read surface temps. Good question tho

Braid guys - what's your take?
I dont use any leader unless I'm fishing a C-rig. Either straight braid, fluro or mono. I use all 3. Does fluro help me get bites I wouldnt on braid? I have no clue but I use it anyway unless I'm fishing thick vegetation. I spool about 50 yards of fluro on my reels at a time with mono underneath and I do the same with braid. Cost is about 4 bucks difference doing it this way.

Are Microwave guides worth an upcharge?
Guess the jokes on me I thought you made a typo about micro guides. Never heard of microwave guides.

Pro qualifier anti reverse slipping?
Ok I know what you mean now. I didn't oil them but I did grease them. But I greased all of my reels there and the rest are fine. Should they not be lubed at all?

Kissing fish
Every other day on the WFN I see guys kissing bass. Why? How many of yall out there are kissing these fish? No wonder the bass are boat shy.

Pro qualifier anti reverse slipping?
Its possible as I said I don't know what component is responsible for the anti reverse. Where are the needle bearing located?

Pro qualifier anti reverse slipping?
Have a BPS pro qualifier only about 2 years old and just recently noticed that when I tighten up the spool it will not completely hold. I can turn the handle in reverse, not freely but there is definately something wrong. I have cleaned this reel myself before and it could be my fault but I have taken it back apart just to check, but I don't know which components are responsible for the anti reverse. Any ideas? Thanks @Delaware Valley Tackle

What's your preferred method of fishing?
Anything that keeps my line tight. My favorite are either top water or the days I can call my shots while pitching jigs to cover

The Annual Boom or Bust Lure thread - 2017 edition
Boom lures or rigs? If both not much has changed. Shakyhead, wacky rig, jigs and ultravibe worms. The only new to me has been SK caffeine shads. They catch fish and look great in the water Duds have spinnerbaits. Ha entire caught a fish all year and have almost quit using them

Hunting crankbaits
Hunting is a term that might be old but has definately gained popularity recently to the point that manufactures are using it in there description. I only have one crank that I would describe to have a hunting action like small jaw said it has an erratic action. It will run normal and then cut one way or the other without me doing anything different. The crank is a bomber 5A. That crank does catch me fish but I can never tell if its going to reach its depth I do prefer a crank to run true and dig into the bottom. I have no idea how you could build one to have that action with any precision since it will probably end up being way off balance and be unusable. Its normally do to some small imperfection and would be hard to duplicate IMO

Shaky head hookset
Makes good sense to me tom. I guess all that time trying to keep my t-rig worms straight kept me from doing this. I don't have a huge hookup problem with shaky heads but I will still do this from now on

GY 5" swim senko
