  1. Same here thought my phone had a virus. If I still had an iPhone I would screenshot it @Glenn but I'm not sure how to do it on a droid. The popup takes you to "get-today.com" one it come up you have no choice but to click ok
  2. It will definitely work but you might find the shock series to have a little too soft of a tip for froggin. The original lightning's might be better. I also really like Berkeley cherry woods for an inexpensive rod it does well. I have 2 shock rods and both only get used for treble hook baits at the moment.
  3. I also cut out the bloodline on the hybrids in my lake. It does ruin a good fillet but its the only way they taste worth a crap
  4. Good point roger
  5. Depending on the body of water and even where you are in the country you may never see clear water like some of the guys up north. For me here in Alabama clear is visibility of around 6ft. This is not the norm, lightly stained would be 3 to 4 and stained being around 1 and a half to 2. Muddy is less that a foot. These terms like most others are not set standards and are used loosely. I don't put a while lot of thought into my color choices just make a decision based on what I see that day. If its pretty clear I will use lighter colors. Really muddy I will choose black. Bass are predators though and largemouth especially feed with all of their senses, not just with sight.
  6. I really enjoy this style of tournament. I wouldnt want to see them get rid of the traditional bassmaster style tournaments but I think it would be great if they continued with 5 fish limits but weighed and released the fish immediately. This would mean no more culling or weigh in events. The 5 biggest fish weighed for the day would be your score. Many might not agree with me on this but with the amount of tournaments and bass anglers these days I think it would be much easier on the bass population. Just my .02 cents
  7. Normally Friday at around 12 my time(central)
  8. I vaguely remember that. I will agree he is somewhat of a sore loser. Seems he gets very emotional whether he's winning or losing.
  9. This is kind of hard to explain but don't make 2 holes in the heat shrink. Do everything else the same way but only one hole in the heat shrink. Still run the hook eye so its under the shrink with only the line showing. I haven't missed any fish using Wayne's method. It looks like the right hook but just to be sure it need to be an octopus hook. BTW I need to give a huge shutout to @Wayne P. and say thanks for sharing this with us. Caught many fish with this rig
  10. I'm looking for some suggestions on a good headlamp for night fishing. Would like to have both red and white lights but am more interested in using the red. So what's your favorite?
  11. Check out jerkbaits. I reccomend kvd's model and also rapala xraps. For tips on how to fish them read the sticky at the top of the fishing tackle forum. A lot of good info in there
  12. Being on the bank will definatley make t harder since your not above the water like you would be in a boat. Just keep practicing though and if you ever get a boat you"ll be a pro since your having to learn the hard way
  13. In order to walk a topwater left and right you must jerk with slack in the line and develop a cadence. If you can't work the rod straight its probably to do with it being to long for your height as I mentioned earlier. I use a 6'6 rod for top water and I still don't work it straight down but pretty close
  14. All rods are preference. I'm sure it would work well tho however I prefer a shorter rod for walking baits but this comes down to your height as well. Also I'm assuming your talking about the veritas 2.0? I would wait if your not in a hurry, I think there going on sale soon due to a newer model coming out
  15. Well whatda ya know today's MLF episode was held on my home lake eufaula. No more than 20 mins from my house and I had no idea they were even here! It says it was filmed in the fall, I took a several vacation days last Oct/Nov and might have been there at the same time. There was one day I was watching 2 guys ride around the lake with a helicopter flying low like it was filming beside them. Idk if it was for MLF or not I just assumed it was for tourism or advertisement. Wish I could a met some of the guys
  16. Same here, no telling how many fish I've run off cover when trying to be stealthy
  17. Very vague question. I carry a Springfield XD9 and I love it. Just as, if not more reliable than a glock which I'm not knocking I just can't stand the grip angle of a glock and has a few features I enjoy. No manual safety (only grip and trigger) a bullet in the chamber indicator and a cocked indicator( both of which I can feel with my thumb without having to see) The other would be a ruger mkiii .22 Very accurate and great for target practice and snake gun
  18. I thought it was just my local store when I went in the other day they had just started their going out of business sale. That's crazy
  19. Good discussion! Care to share your favorite brand/size?
  20. I agree with him why did the engine quit? To your other question if the starter got stuck in the flywheel and you ran it like that it will burn up a starter quickly
  21. Sounds like its losing prime, idk much about that engine having not owned any outboard newer than 97 but I am a mechanic. Fuel injected I assume? If so could be a one way check valve or pressure regulator. Start with simple fuel system checks, if your not familiar with your engine call a shop. No sense in wasting a lot of time when it could be a simple 30 min fix
  22. depends on the day both of those worms work well when swam just above the bottom, always rig tail down and they mimic a paddle tail, most days they want it even slower though just pulled with rod and bringing up slack with reel like you would work a lizard or creature bait
  23. practice, practice, practice. don't worry about the other guys waiting just do your thing
  24. 6'6 to 7' MH fast action rod 30lb power pro 3/0 straight shank gama hook. zoom ultravibe worm/ragetail cut'r 3/16 oz to 1/4 oz bullet weight pegged jig is a close second with pretty much same setup
