  1. Wasn't in time to get what I needed. Thanks for sharing though

I won't ever go without one again after losing a big un. I don't use it much but its there just I case
  3. Waiting for the ledge bite to try out tremor heads. Picked some up in the fall but never got em wet
  4. I would choose a MH and fast action but since there is no standard for action across different brands I will quote Andy Montgomery and say find the rod with an 80/20 action. 80percent backbone 20percent tip. This is a good definition of fast action in my opinion
  5. That's some screen you got on the front there Wayne. If I saw you on the lake I'd swear you were watching TV
  6. I agree about the split shot crimping line which I why I do the same as you but I always thought I was just using a finesse Carolina rig
  7. Thank you @Darren. what you explained about why you like XF is what I was looking for, your reason makes sense to me I will just have to find out if I feel the same since to this point I've never owned an XF spinning rod. As for line I want to say again I respect your and @NHBull opinion about line and while I don't disagree I haven't had had any negative experiences while using 20lb braid and until I do i see no reason to change. No biggie there though to each his own. Thanks again yall.
  8. Well we are talking braid so 20lb test is probably like 8lb mono when you compare diameter. I appreciate your opinion but I have had zero issues with line in this application. This is something I did not consider, I should stop assuming all brands are alike in the descriptions
  9. 6'8 is about what I'm looking for and will be using 20 to 30lb braid so no line twist. Thanks for the answers
  10. Thinking about getting a new spinning rod for weightless presentations and it seems most prefer an XF action and I cant figure out why? maybe im thinking about this wrong but when throwing baits that weigh around an 1/8th oz wouldn't a slower action make the lure load the rod up better? also wouldn't a slower action allow you to play the fish a little better? please correct me if im wrong. so what action do you prefer for weightless rigs and why?
  11. Not a Ned rig guy but I'm sure it will work. I would suggest Trig worm or wacky rig along with your search bait of choice.(crank, spinner, buzz, swimbait)
  12. I believe I will be upgrading transducers myself after seeing this. Thanks wayne EDIT: just checked pricing, sure wish I knew about the trade in deal a few years ago. The HDSI runs around $170
  13. Normally a backlash mid cast has to do with brakes since bait is normally being caught in wind. But since your brakes are near maxed out I'm not sure what's happening. I will say 20lb braid is pretty small for a BC. I use 30lb minimum. I also don't fish weightless senkos. This is a job for a spinning reel. Have you tried throwing any other lures with some more weight to them?
  14. Well wheeler got the points to garuntee his spot in MLF. I was rooting for him after Ott Defoe didn't make it. I definatley think Jacob deserves it more than Keith poche. That was definately my favorite select round from Michigan so far. Lot of healthy largemouth in that lake. Plus its always fun watching them eat the frog.
  15. I have a trig worm tied on 24/7/365 Caught about 11 today on a wacky trick worm on my local river today though
  16. Lol its always a new member. I think they find the thread from a Google search and then sign up just to comment on it
  17. that pretty much sums it up, gotta love getting there at daylight though when its calm and a little fog over the water and their hitting topwater of course. my favorite time to fish has to be when everyone else aint fishing. normally weekdays and at night
  18. Need? 1 rod&reel will do it. Now want or to make yourself more efficient is a different story. I caught a lot of fish with 2 rods before I decided to add. If what you listed is what you have then they will work fine. If you have yet to get them I would get 2 MH and lose the H. Very few of my fishing requires a H rod, MH makes up the majority of my setups. As for the spinning I would go M
  19. I've never done it and I don't know if all TM are alike but the ones I've had apart seems all you would need to do is adjust the shaft gear. Kinda hard to explain but loosen and remove cable gear ( its straight with teeth) and adjust the shaft gear until its where you want it, then reassemble. I came here to say that trying to adjust this might cause you to lose mobility but the small amount you want shouldn't change anything.
  20. I've yet to find a situation where a bass won't eat a senko in their face
  21. I have a 7ft MH shock and it is my crankbait rod. Ive never wanted to spend a ton of money on rods. I couldn't tell you what a specific crank rod feels like but I can tell you I catch plenty of fish cranking that shock rod
  22. Trig plastic Weightless plastic Jig Of course I fish others but these are always on deck/in hand
  23. Nice! I really like to catch one of them one day
  24. As the title states, bream (bluegill, shell cracker) are spawning in my area right now and I'd like to hear everyone's favorite imitations and presentations. I suppose my go to's are swim jigs, square bills and some poppers. Topwater always plays a big role this time of year. I've also been wanting to give the rage shell cracker a shot but have yet to get any. So what ya got?
