  1. I agree @WRB I probably don't look good casting. I mean I've never really had issues with pain or casting distance for the most part but without reading this I would have been none the wiser. Besides being taught as a kid how to cast a zebco I've never thought there could be a wrong way to cast. This overhand lever cast looks so smooth and effortless though, I've probably seen it a thousand times and never even noticed
  2. I was reading the latest issue of bassmaster, in one of the articles they were talking about a guy with tendonitis or fishing elbow and the guy was talking about how he adjusted his casting which puts less strain on his arms. mainly casting with 2 hands and when overhead casting he uses his non casting hand to grab the bottom of the rod and use it like a lever pulling it backwards. Then I just happen to be watching Timmy Hortons show and got to see him doing exactly this. Does anyone do this? or am I the only one not lol? my overhand cast ends with more of a snapping action and if im heaving all day it can get pretty sore. I think I will be changing how I cast from now on, seems I learn something new all the time. Never knew I had an issue with casting
  3. Nothing wrong with 50# braid on the flipping stick. I prefer flurocarbon depending on the cover. If your flipping grass and pads go with the braid The second rod you listed a ton of different techniques that I use different line for. If I had to pick one line for jigs, senkos, spinner baits, swimbaits and top water lol I would have to go with mono although some of these presentations I would prefer something else.
  4. Sounds like a linkage issue. The throttle and shift linkages all are connected and need to be adjusted to work properly. I have this same engine and its easy to not get the shift rod all the way in place when installing the lower. I don't have a hot foot so your setup is a little different. Get a buddy or wife to move the controls while you watch the linkages and see what's happening, it will probably be easy to spot with a helper.
  5. That's true. Russ is the only one i can't remember ever loosing his cool. That lake looked like a flippers paradise, so many bushes it was crazy. Can't believe no one caught one over 4# though
  6. In case y'all didn't catch an earlier post war eagle has been bought by Pradco I believe so things might be changing. Hopefully not but it wouldn't hurt to stock up now
  7. Guess I'll be the oddball Berkley trilene 100% fluro for me in 17lb test
  8. It was on outdoor channel for me.
  9. My wife just Bought me some from a small company qwik8baits. They are non piercing. I haven't received them yet so can't comment on how much I like them yet
  10. This is only second hand from someone I know fishing the same event. They are found, no word on the condition of co angler and the boater was delirious. That's all I've heard
  11. Send your buddy one to test
  12. Same for me as far as favorites go. Followed closely by a 3/8 jig. I really love skipping
  13. Dang man that's an average of 12.6 bass per day. You must have 100 fish days. I don't keep count but it was more than last year and that's alright by me.
  14. I have 2 of the 2.0's. They are my jig rods and I set the hook hard. Never had an issue other than a guide insert falling out. Abu sent me a new rod for 9 bucks and I kept and fixed the other one. Great customer service
  15. One in the profile pic and here's another. She's one of them "mean unpredictable pit bulls" Not!
  16. Squirrel tail worm, the tail floats up. If its really important to you, you can make any worms tail float by injecting air In to it with a syringe and glue
  17. Win a tournament and have fun doing it!
  18. I prefer single tail grubs like kalins for the a-rig. I've tried paddle tails but catch more with the grubs
  19. No real wrong choice but in 1 & 2 the fish looks bigger not that a 12 and s half # bass needs any help looking big. Nice catch btw
  20. Good luck there's some big'uns swimming around Seminole. Especially during the spawn, I hope to be out there too
  21. Good question. I've never seen it either and the only disaster I've experienced was launching my boat without being in it and having the rope go with it. Luckily I didn't have to swim as another boater was there putting in and gave me a lift. There are some pretty steep ramps in my area and I see a lot of guys putting in and they tend to hit the gas to hard in the beginning causing the tires to break traction. This could be the case for some. Most are probably stupid mistakes. I pull my boat with a standard trans so I'm very cautious. Always in gear and parking break set
