  1. This is also what I have but really only because that's that came on mine, curious to hear other responses
  2. Is there a place in your lineup for a medium light casting rod? If so what lures, presentations? I admittedly use rods that are a little overkill the majority of the time because I fish around more cover than anything and need to direct fish away quickly but have recently started using rods with more tip to them and love the difference it makes in casting. I recently Bought a rod lot that included a medium light casting rod that I believe is marketed toward top water but it feels way more whippy than what I'm used to even more than my crank rods. What are your thoughts on these light action bait casting rods?
  3. Yea I goofed that up. Forerunners are great too
  4. Toyota tundra is probably the most reliable SUV across the years and they have the same engine as the tundras so should pull fine
  5. As you can tell it has a lot to do with preference. The only universal agreement is that offset round bend don't mix with thick plastics. Those require EWG or straight shanks
  6. Round bend are standard worm hooks or any plastic that isn't too thick that when the plastic slides down during a hook set there is still plenty of room for the hook to penetrate and hold the fish. Thicker plastics call for EWG I myself prefer EWG for all but the smallest of worms like finesse worms, but I'm in the minority on this
  7. Spro bronzey and pad crashers for me as well. Been checking into the new Stanford frog ad well though, not just because of the frog fur but because of the details on the bottom Being that all the frog fishers are in this thread and rods have already been mentioned, what rod do y'all recommend for making accurate cast to cover. The average heavy frog rod just doesn't load well enough on a cast for me to pinpoint targets with a high enough percentage. Or is that just me?
  8. A ram mount should do what you want
  9. @Siebert Outdoors yep Mike has great customer service
  10. Almost when I was distracted a big spot bit and immediately made a run for it.
  11. Fished a local club tourney Saturday and was able to finish 3rd. If only i could have got rid of a 12 incher that cost me 1st place. Only a pound separated us. Here's my best 2 from the day caught on a jig
  12. Ones of the guys in my local bass club loves them. He has several, I can't comment on performance but they are super light weight
  13. Never heard or seen anything like that. I guess that's what you meant by the cool foot?, what's the benefit over a standard pedal?
  14. Is it just the picture or is that thing 2 ft long?
  15. I have a 6'6 m as a backup squarebill rod.
  16. didn't want to divulge this but take the blades off a spinnerbait and run tandem shad raps instead. crazy action!
  17. I believe all anglers go through phases, and one that is with us from the beginning is that there is some secret lure that will always catch fish, its of course not true. A broader statement that ill make is that there really aren't any secrets anymore, atleast none that are required to know in order to catch fish. The information is out there but some must be learned simply on your own by fishing. Here's two statements that I have found to be 100% true 1. every lure I own will catch fish 2. no matter how tough it is someone is catching them
  18. Plenty lol. I've had plenty of times after a tourney or whatever and talking about how I caught all my fish on the bottom and couldn't get a bite on top water or something and the other guy says I caught all my fish on top water and none on bottom. And many more complete opposites. Crazy how that works
  19. @ww2farmer and @A-Jay pretty much summed up my definition. I'm not fishing blind I'm just fishing different cover/structure with different presentations in the area I'm fishing looking for the active bass. Even if one is producing better than another I can't help myself.
  20. About how often would you say you develop a pattern and run it all day as opposed to junk fish? I would say I'm about 70/30 in favor of junk fishing For example yesterday at the lake I started out looking for beds in the back of the creeks and caught a few males, cranked up a few on main lake ditches near flats, fished some rip rap around the dam, and ended the day skipping docks. This is pretty normal for me and even days when I do feel I've dialed them in its more to do with a certain bait or depth. Rarely getting a true consistent pattern. How bout y'all?
  21. Line is not the issue here. Jigs require a good hook set. Reel down and get all the slack out and then hammer it home. I don't like using leaders with jigs either straight braid or straight fluro, too many knots otherwise.
  22. My guess is a combinations between the swivel and not rigging the fluke completely straight on the hook. My advice, ditch the snap swivels all together for all presentations and tie direct
  23. I will be fishing, but I'd be fishing even if it wasn't a full moon. I prefer prespawn over the actual spawn. Just because you can see a female doesn't mean you can catch her. They aren't eating at this point. Anyone who has spent hours on a single bed will tell you the same thing.
  24. Google is your friend Boat-trailer tires require a lot of air pressure — in most cases, between 50 and 65 psi. In fact, the correct pressure is almost always the maximum-rated pressure for that tire, which is molded right on the sidewall. Maintaining that pressure is critically important to towing safety. Tire pressure determines the load the tire can safely carry. The load capacity of the trailer was determined with that specific tire pressure as a factor. If you roll out of the driveway towing your boat with less than the max psi in the trailer tires, you have effectively reduced the load capacity of the entire trailer. Underinflated and thus overloaded tires are the leading cause of trailer-tire failure; the tires overheat and fall apart.
