What's your confidence lure?
3/8 brush jig with rage menace or twin tail grub Past several months this is being replaced by a crankbait. No one in particular because it depends but I've been getting bit on cranks at times and in places that they won't bite anything else

Ultravibe Speed Worm
Very popular around here and something I have tied on regularly. Depending on where I'm fishing I use both the regular and magnum sizes. 3/0 for regular and 5/0 for magnum. They are great for swimming around grass. GP with chartreuse on the tail is deadly. Another little tip that I haven't shared too much is to take a .22 bullet casing and take a notch out the tail right in the crease. Changes the action slightly and also keeps the tail from ripping as easily

No stank sandals
Have to agree although I have started wearing tennis shoes in the boat lately

Replacement treble hooks
I have a question that will hopefully add to this thread. When changing say the hooks on a SK 3xd, they are #6 but a lot of ppl recommend replacing with the mustad short shanks. Do you stay with a #6 or up size? And if you upsize does it affect how the crank deflects off wood? @A-Jay ?

Slowest Buzzbait
I can't claim I've tried them all but cavitron has the slowest I've tried along with some homemade ones. Clackers require more speed and weight has a lot to do with it as well. Can't help on bending blades.

Crankbait question
Well I think color is more important. . . . lol Back on topic. I unless the package has it listed which they normally do. You can't really tell if they rattle without opening them and holding the hooks like others have said

How do you keep your tackle bag from getting soaked?
Made of PVC material and is completely waterproof. Holds a ton. I use it when I fish as a coangler sometimes

Hydrofoil
I have a similar setup an 18 ft Procraft no jack plate and I added a foil. My reasons were the same as yours as well as get a bigger sweet spot. Running half throttle on plane my boat was either porpoising or pushing water unless you had it trimmed just right and any changes to speed meant making trim adjustments. Now I can run on plane from 23mph and up and not make near as many adjustments. They say they decrease top end speed but I haven't noticed much. Maybe 1 or 2 mph but the boat still runs 60 and that's plenty for me

Interference on My Helix 5 SI GPS
Screen shot might help. Also I don't like to run my depth finders through any switch. I run them straight to the battery and the positve gets an inline fuse. Does the band appear at deeper depths? I have the same unit and I don't get very good readings in less than 8ft but i don't remember any bands

Wonder when (or if) Toledo Bend will come back
I have nothing to offer here but I would love to catch 50 bass a day. Yep that'd suit me just fine

A question of etiquette.
I would idle through if they were across the mouth completely blocking. Most guys will never let up so idling is normally appreciated so I'm not throwing wakes their way.

Buying new humminbird helix, need opinions.

line size
Yes of course you can. I think they list the line size and then list how many yards of that size it will hold on that particular spool. They are not actually recommending you only use that size. I have both those reels and run anything from 10lb mono to 17lb fluro and 50lb braid

Is this catchable bass?
Good images. Maybe someone will know but the only way I've ever been able to know their bass is to catch one

MLF discussions
For some reason I look at fishing differently than other sports like you are referring. Mainly because there is another x factor in this sport and that's the fish. IMO these guys are never really competing with each other. They are always competing with the fish no matter the format. Also the bass master circuit and MLF are worlds apart and can't really be compared at all with regard to who is the best. Their just too different

crankbait sizing ?
Depends on how you like to fish and how technical you get with a specific presentation like cranks. Sure the 7.5 will probably work for a lot of shallow cover but at times the bass will be shallower and you would have to slow the retrieve greatly for the bait to run correctly. Which in turn might not get the same reaction from the bass. Buy one and fish it in your area and see if your body of water and fishing style requires more fine tuning. Hopefully that makes sense As for color you can go as simple or as complex as you like. My advice is to pick one shad color and one craw color and maybe one chartreuse black back for muddy water and be done

Home made cull clips?
I recently got fooled into buying the clamp on clips myself and they do more harm than the old style. Idk the science being it but the clips keep the bass from being able to close their mouth which keeps there gills from working properly and they die in the well. My advice is keep doing what your doing or start inserting the puncture clips just behind the gill plate and out the mouth. This works well and doesn't punch any holes in the mouth.
