My taxidermist gave me 3 options for the layout of my PB (12lb 8oz) replica mount...  Which do you like?

No real wrong choice but in 1 & 2 the fish looks bigger not that a 12 and s half # bass needs any help looking big.

Nice catch btw

I like the second one, less background clutter taking away from the fish.

I'd go with number 2.  If the replica is going is going up on the wall then the lower nameplate will be easier to see.

Awesome catch - is that the fish in your profile pic?

When I went to pick up my PB replica mount it in a old underwater tree branches and absolutely beautiful a true work of art. The problem was I had no place to display a 3' by 4' tree branch with the bass. So I told the Munoz to save the tree for someone else and thank him for his efforts.

What is important is how the looks to you!

I'll post pics when I get it.  He told me it'll be complete by February on my largemouth and then March-May on my smallie...

Yeah, it's going on the wall in my office.  I like the lower nameplate too...

LOL.  Thanks!

Well, I'm heading back to Chickamauga in a couple weeks!  :thumbsup3:

Plus, there was a 14.53lb caught a couple days ago, so your plan "B" might work............!

Awesome fish, congrats!!! I just had my first replica done as well in 2017, here's how mine is laid out. This fish is a far cry from yours as it went 6.74, but still turned out awesome in my book. Oh and #2 would be my choice.

Yours looks good, I thought about putting a baitfish or lure in my mount, but I probably won't

Dave sent me some updated pics...  It should be finished in a couple weeks.  Scale detail is awesome, can't wait to see it in person!

That is Incredible!!  Who is doing your bass?  I have a Smallmouth I want done and have been shopping around for years, because I want someone who will match the picture vs. just painting a general smallmouth pattern, which your taxidermist seems to have done excellently!!.

Thanks!  I did a ton of research and Dave's name came up several times as being one of the best in the country...  I noticed with a lot of the other replica companies (Lake Fork, etc) would just do an overall air brush paint job with zero scale detail, etc.  Granted, all of those type companies were in the $500-$700 price range and I paid roughly tripe that for each of my fish...  My theory is there's a reason a Lamborghini costs more than a Ford Fusion.....!!!!  Dave is also doing my PB smallie (6lb 4oz) and he said he should have it finished by May 1st.  My largemouth he's doing is 12lb 8oz.  It's about a 1 year turn around time with him now.  I'm jacked up, can't wait to see it in person and put it up on the wall.....  He has a "studio grade" (economical) and a "master grade" (his top of the line/"platinum" finish), both my largemouth and smallie are master grades.

Check him out - www.davecampbellfish.com

Wow that truly is an art. I'm looking into trying this out as a hobby and I've done a ton of reading and watching of videos and I can say hands down that's the most detail I've ever seen.

There is a ton of tedious work that goes into the ones I've seen on YouTube and this one goes way above those. I can only hope to be half that good if I go through with it.

When you get it back can you post the picture of the actual and the replica?

Yep, he's one of the best in the country.  I noticed that others (Lake Fork Taxidermy, etc.) were just doing general air brush paint jobs with little detail...  Dave does each individual scale!  My avatar pic is my PB, but yeah I can post more pics of the actual vs replica.

I think it looks phenomenal!
