  1. I thought it was just me. I also bought some of that cheap fluro and after the 3rd bird nest that I had to cut to get out. I stripped and re-spooled on the boat I might not be the greatest with a bait aster but I've never had that much trouble. I know only use fluro as a leader. I haveno issues with braid or mono except the occasional operator error
  2. Sounds like you did everything right. Only thing I can think I would of done is try a different swimbait similar to the fluke
  3. I would reccomend a Jon boat if only for the room alone. There are many ways to customize it to even be a small bass boat. Check out tinboats.net or .com can't remember. I started with a Jon and customized it, then after a few years sold it and made almost enough money to purchase a real bass boat. i still miss that boat though
  4. I second the pro qualifier bait caster. IMO it's the best bang for your buck, the online reviews say it all
  5. No I don't. I always use trailers on bladed jigs. If you want to know which ones do a quick search. There have been many topics about this in the last week
  6. I agree with the search baits like a Carolina rig but I just want to say that jigs and t-rig are not the problem, these baits will catch bigger bass as long as they are there. Find some points leading out from shallows to deper water or some ledges. I too struggle with deep water fishing but it's something you have to do to get better at.
  7. Did yall weigh her? What you catch it on?
  8. This will be moved to fishing reports but I will be the first to tell you that's a nice fish man. Idk what's up with your bottom picture but the bass appears to weigh more than you do haha
  9. Sounds to me like your not feeling the bite as well on the heavier rod and letting the bass swallow it before you set the hook once I get a really good feel for a lure on a certain rod I don't like to change it up because things like this happen. Either I dont work it the same or miss strikes, it just throws me off
  10. All the fish I lose are huge obviously. At least a few state records.
  11. No you cannot view on computer. This could possibly erase some data on chip as well so don't try it
  12. I been using quicksilver for as long as I've had a boat. Along with everyone else I know. Never had a problem as long as you mix it right
  13. I googled but not much new information. Lot of history and things from the 80's & 90's. I know of a few 10's being caught but none bigger. Eufaula has went threw a lot of changes with drought and diseases. Has good numbers and most tourneys go in the 20's to some low 30's. Who knows.
  14. Well Catt it seems you need to get on the ball friend. How would I find some of this information out about my home lake?
  15. When the fish are shallow Lol I'm sorry, I don't own one I these lures but I always have the best success with top water early and late in the day
  16. Live bait will always be better than artificial, most of us use artificial lures for the challenge and it's a little more fun fishing them. Of course catching is always the goal but we all spend more time fishing than catching. I suggest you do both. If your bank fishing from one spot use some lures that can be cast long distance. Try a red eye shad or Carolina rig. You could always have another pole with live bait sitting in some kind of pole holder while your working a lure. Good luck
  17. Yea I got one last fall for 89. Then 2 weeks later they dropped to 79 an I got another.
  18. I don't know when but it will be on sale again eventually. I'm also waiting on the sale. The pro qualifier is the only bait caster I buy
  19. What brand jigs are these? I like the compact skirts
  20. Welcome to the forum bud
  21. This. Also wouldn't hurt to check compression
  22. I I can't get fresh bait and don't want to use chicken livers(they work great tho) I'll sometimes pick up some mullet from the fish market and cut it into small strips. Works pretty good but nothing beats fresh bait for cats
  23. Normally the arrow sits on plastic gear teeth. As long as there not damaged you should be able to remove head and re-align as the above poster said. It's not hard to do. I fished a season without an arrow as well and even though I got pretty good at it. Let me tell you I want an arrow!
  24. I feel like this would be an easy problem to figure out in person, there isn't too much it could be. as A-jay said pics would help
