I was told you want to match the lense color with the water color. I use a tea or brown color lense, due to our rivers are that color (iron ). And on the ocean I would go with a blue or green. I don't buy expensive eye wear anymore ether because I either loose them or break them. In the long run I'm sure everyone has their prefference.

I talked with a buddy of mine and he tells me when he would go cat-fishing they would lower a can of dog food with holes punched in it. He says the smell attracts the cats and then you would send down your baited hook and bang your on. I've never tried this but it sounds good. I did ask him however, why they din't use cans of cat food?

Just to add some if not all fire dept,especially rural dept, can tell you if and how safe the ice is if your not sure. They keep track because they're the ones that are usually first responders should someone fall through.

And American investors. And unless your self employed, i'm pretty sure the company you work for,the execs don't share there profits with you, thats why you get a pay check. Thats why it's important to keep the jobs in America. And anyone can share in the profits just buy stock in the company. Oh and its Chevy and Ford that are closing factories here in the states and Toyota and Honda that are building new ones, go figure.

Just to add to all these great points (i own a Honda Pilot), if your worried about buying foreign vs American made don't. Toyota has plants in America and Canada. And my Honda was assembled in Canada, parts made in US. The only part made in Japan and shipped here was the transmision. Many American made vehicles parts are made in Mexico not totaly sure where they put them together. True it's a foreign company but Americas aren't loosing jobs to them because the cars are made here. And just to add i believe Toyota will be racing in NASCAR this year.

With all the advancements in techknowledgy today it's BS that we are still dependent on oil. Ther are synthetics like Amsoil, created in 70's. It's oil company greed that hold America back . I'm gonna stop now because this rant could go on and on. And don't get me started on pharmaceutical companies, the last disease cured was polio 50 years ago, now they just treat disease,more profitable.
