  1. They do this on inline spinners for muskie and it works just the blades are alot larger but if one was to shrink it down for bass i dont know why it qouldnt qork. But qhen was the lasr timw u seensomeone using an inline spinner for bass
  2. Go to Wal-Mart get some Devcon 2ton epoxy and some sowing thread...find a box cut b grooves in two opposing sides so the rod can sit in there and not roll...now pike a hole in one of the sides with out the v run thread through it. Proceed from there it don't have to be pretty to look better then duct tape and super glue. If I just want it to be fishable just wrap the thread around the rod and eye don't worry about everything being packed together just pile the thread on there and then use Devcon epoxy to seal it all up
  3. Ya but even at 60 It still seems like allot of leader and defeats the purpose of the braid which is to add sensitivity.9 Is probably over kill but I use the same rod for drop shot as I do shaky heads and neds so I lose allot of line real quick if I switch from drop shot to the others and as the day progresses I might want to go back to drop shot. I settled on 9' because that usually leaves me with 2-3' left at the end of a trip They probably spooled up on one rod then transferred it to another and there back g was exposed lol and u know how fiaherman r u see one guy do it so u try it next thing I know something on accident becomes the new hot thing in sport fishing
  4. As always fishkamp very informative...thanks u were very helpful guys looks like the standard ct it is
  5. I run about 9' I guess in my mind the only advantage of a longer leader would be to not have to retire it as often. But 25' seems awfully extreme kinda seems it would defeat the purpose of braid depending on what you are doing. I find myself running a drop shot vertically in 15-20' of water often so the braid would rarely see the light of day
  6. According to everything I've read the tat ct and ct type r are basically identical except the type r Has a .55 oz spool and ct has .62 ounce spool and the type r Has 2crbb and 5 bb instead of 7bb so in my mind I could get ct then just up grade bearings and have a better real then spending the extra $50 On the type r. Some one please correct me if I'm mistaken then there is the spool is the spool really worth it I'd it anything special it's not like it's an sv spool or a hlcspool it's just a tad lighter ?
  7. To all the daiwa fanatics out there. I've slowly been dipping my toes in the daiwa pool with my first one being a tat sv. Now old like to try another one but here is my dilemma .im interested in the tat ct or ct type r but I'm not sure if the type r is really worth the extra coin with all the upgrades out there. So in all of your honest opinions with hand on experience is it worth the extra money to get the type r or just get the basic ct then up grade the bearings and possibly upgrade the spool later on down the road
  8. Megabass vision 110 did the trick for me this morning.made it out early after some bass then once the sun came up over the trees changed to gills and started look in for dinner
  9. What exactly r u trying to throw. Finesse cranks.and jigs or more weightless plastics.or do you want more of a do all rod. Sorry I misread ur post u said finesse casting or bfs which is the same thing so you woyld be better suited jumping up to the champion series for a split grip which retail for 249 but can be found on flee bay right at ur budget. Take a look at this rod http://dobynsrods.com/rod/702c/ Another rod right around 149 on TW which can be found cheaper else where is the daiwa tatula line I've heard great things about these rods as well the model Ild look into would be the TAT701MLRB they call it a regular bend but after speaking with guys on this rod its more of a fast action then moderate. Sorry to burst your bubble and give you more to choose from since you already had two picked out but seeing that e6x on there just left a bad taste in my mouth I have heard more bad then good about those rods
  10. If the e6x is ur price range u should take a long look at dobyns Sierra line lot of good rods to be had there and I have not heard one bad thing about them
  11. Before pulling the trigger on a pelican u should check out the otter stealth 1200 or 2000 they are supposed to be very stable. Keep an open mind because it is a duck hunting boat but I think it would have good possibilities for someone looking for a small craft
  12. These after market spools are losing grams not ounces Uld never be able to feel the difference in weight
  13. I dunno about super but sniper is the ( . )( . ) I run it for all my floro needs
  14. Man I keep hearing good things I gotta get my hands on one of these
  15. Made mine out of a 2' chunk of 1x2 and a carriage bolt then went to hard ware and grabbed a spring for tension. I have a whole $1.23 in to it and to be honest I think it does a better job due to the reel is on the rod and I can crank down on the tension to really keep the line tight.
  16. Find out what stage the bass are in in that part of the state . Use your electronics to find them and the forage. Then throw everything plus the kitchen sink at them til u get bit then repeat. I'm guessing with the rains finally slowing down and the water temps and lvls getting back to normal the bite should be decent and about normal for this time of year especially with the big ass heat wave heading in on sunday.. They should be chasing better then as of late. Now speculating based on the fish here they r probably past post spawn or at least dwindling down and more scattered. moving on to there summer holding areas i.e. ledges weeds lillies deep flats and channels. Sorry not more specific but its that time of year
  17. I knew this was gonna get entertaining

He'll call any brand and ask them directly they know there product don't just Google it and guess what u think will work if u really don't know. I like solar bats because they are from right here in indiana I see allot of guys recommend Costa or Oakley as well so as far as brand it's a Ford Chevy dodge situation dig out what brand u want to go with (solar bat) lol and give them a call they have reps there that know what they are talk in about.
  21. Oh well to be honest it's gonna be the easiest way to get a crank to di ve deeper. Yes u can add weight to somewhere but it will mess with the movement of the lure not saying fish won't bite it
  22. All depends on type of line and it's diameter...by running heavier mini u can get a bait to shallow up quite a bit
  23. Clam makes some weights you add to the treble hook to use for ice fishing I would think u may be able to use them in summer fishing as well...i gotta ask though why are u so adamant about 30# floro
  24. dsqui replied to CybrSlydr's topic in Fishing Tackle
Call solarbat tell them where u are and what u want them for I'm sure they can steer you in the right direction
