  1. They have a 72 mh fast it's a great all around rod have ur local shop order it
  2. In another topic team nine states he rarely used beaver for trailer.do to them ripping off frequently this got me thinking...what kind of trailer is everyone using when skipping jigs
  3. What kind of super glue do you all use when fishing a Ned rig, swim baits, or jigs. How long do you let the glue set before using it. I've been using loc tite gel for all 3 and am wondering if there is a better option out there. I went through a bag of plastics the other day skipping jigs with no fish involved. I'm not very good at skipping so the beaver kept tearing off. I was in open water so I know no weeds or any structure were to blame.
  4. My biggest like came on one of those
  5. Skipping jigs will be my new adventure this year
  6. I like that cause it right one company's fast is another ex fast
  7. Ok lol back to the question at hand mhor h mod fast or ex fast for a rod we got a little off subject... I don't want to use spinning gear because I'm trying to limit my number of rods in my boat
  8. dsqui replied to Adam vanhecke's topic in Fishing Tackle
I'm just stating my opinion based on what has happened in my boat over the years. The x rap always gets out fished by a 110 even on days they seem to be eating anything
  9. Hey every thread needs that one guy that says something that has nothing to do with the original posted question it's all in the fun of be in on these sites
  10. dsqui replied to Adam vanhecke's topic in Fishing Tackle
Guess I'll be "that guy" best way to use a x rap is throw them in the trash and buy a megabass vision 110
  11. Poppers and buzzbaits are a great option as well
  12. I'm not real familiar with what to look for in a rod for skipping jigs. I know I'm going to pair it with a tatula sv lined with 17-20# cxx and I know I want a 6'6" most jigs will be 3/8 with occasional 1/4&1/2 oz thrown in. The trailer will depend on the day. Mostly want this rod for skipping docks with maybe an occasional laydown. Most the lakes i fish are highly developed so not alot of trees in the water. So there's the details now here's the question mh or heavy. Mod fast or fast or extra fast
  13. Try your local boy scouts
  14. Smallies are bedding and PM are starting in my area on one lake that I know of. Managed quite a few today with the big girl coming in close to 4.5 all came on a Ned rig and a megabass 110 . On a side note I've never seen so many rock bass omg I probably caught 40 Of em all on the Ned it was a fun day on the lake
  15. Gear ratios aren't everything u need to pay more attention to ipt of the reel bigger spools and wider spools = more ipt think of it like only filling ur spool with day 30 feet versus filling it with line try casting it . It don't work well it does but not right now when ur reeling it's in reverse of that
  16. I don't get it why no line twist... line is line no matter the diameter it all twists. Not to beat a dead horse but that line is over kill u may not notice it but u are not casting to ur full potential with heavy line like that for light baits lighter line would cast farther. Not a big deal fishing chocolate milk but on clear lakes could be costing u fish and u would never notice the issue. I don't mean because of the fish seeing line I'm talk in about you having to be closer to the target.
  17. Trilene knot or double davys knot but I forgot how exactly to tie the double davys so I stick to the trilene knot
  18. Contact lews supposedly they are coming out with a flipping specific reel this year... for $139 msrp it's gonna be hard to beat a tournament mb in there 8 gear I run this on my frog rod...i run a quantum accurist on my flipping rod I like the flipping switch option. And im not planning on casting the reel and just flipping I don't run any brakes so I didn't see the point in spending a whole lot on it.
  19. It's awesome u guys mentioned small poppers and jerks as this was my intention for the reel...since I've only been able to handle the 103 ildlike to get a few things straight u guys are saying the 105 is smaller then a 103 but the 103 had more after market Parts. I'll be purchasing the reel at my local shop since I like to support the small business so at 279 msrp what about the zillion for 20 more what size is it more along the 103 or 105 or is it its own demon in size. I'll be honest right now I don't see myself tuning the reel so aftermarket parts availability aren't a big deal...ill probably spool the reel with either 12-14 cxx so I can get the reel for skipping docks and lay downs as well after switching rods of course
  20. I've been kick in around picking up a daiwa with a sv spool so here is the big question what would one gain in going up series of reels. I've looked at tatula sv, sv103/105, and the zillion sv. What would i gain by purchasing the ladder over the tatula sv
  21. Must have been one of those days of your bad luck must be rubbing off on me lol my motor wouldn't start spilled oil everywhere filling it up control box is messed up once u get started won't shift into gear and to top it off my trolling motor to K a crap guess it's true boat really does stand for Break Out Another Thousand
  22. Not knowing the lake old still approach it like any other bass in general are creatures of habit old say study a lake mapand hit the local shops for ideas on where to start then try to duplicate them on the contour map
  23. If you are truly planing on swimming it yet a yama twin tail grub
  24. Lol I really like the second one kinda reminds me of the old Budweiser commercials with the frogs
  25. I just wish sennet made a smaller pace maker that thing is killer
