  1. That zillion is S/V so it should be air brake not magnetic
  2. So I jumped to the dark side and got a tat sv. Very smooth reel but I know something is set up wrong after seeing many people post how well this thing casts. I set it up like I would any other bait caster. Find where the bait falls and hits the water but don't back lash then back everything off slowly from cast to cast to find the perfect spot I just can't seem to find it. I know it's got to be me because of all the rave these things get. I bought it for skipping jigs but want to try thw 8.1.1 ratio for jerks. I just can't get the distance like I do with a lews. I havnt given up on the reel I really want to like it it feels good in the hand and skips jigs nicely I just think I'm not doin something right. Anyone have any advice for this thing. I know to tighten the spool tension down to where there is no play in the spool then back it up maybe a quarter turn to get a little wiggle. Maybe I need more wiggle then what I have it could it be something else. Or is it just that these reels aren't as great as every one claims them to be
  3. Last tournament for the year man it's awfully early for it to be the last one
  4. I disagree with the Tackle lots. More times then not u are just getting junk someone else don't want any More Start by finding what style of fishing u like to do then go From there no point in having deep diving crank baits if ur a shallow water Angler or having alot of crabkbaits to find out you like fishing slop
  5. Do u have a link to this chart ild like too see it
  6. The imx Pro falls between the imx and glx doesn't it not the e6x
  7. Ganders problem is they quit carrying everything. There selection is horrible. And musky baits really there are only a hand full of lakes with them and there are specialty shops for that. I remember going into gm as a kid and the selection was huge now it's tailored more to the person who fished say maybe 4-6 times a year. Why is it they can't carry high end gear but field and stream (dicks sporting goods) can
  8. Wow top water already lol I think our lakes up here are still kinda cold they were getting close but this big cold front really dropped the temp 54.2º... I made it out last night caught maybe 8-10 bass and one short walleye all on a jerk bait except the walleye he came on the Ned had allot of biteson drop shot just nothing commited think they were gills or perch grabbing the tail. Bite has been tough since I broke my lucky color waiting for my order of replacements to come in .
  9. Ya unfortunately there selection is kinda horrible well I've personally fished the mojo series scii I was happy with there performance until they started breaking but when I bought all mine there weren't allot of options in the 120 range and they were top notch at that price point. Now allot of companies have joined that market. I have a shimano exage 7'2" mh fast that I started fishing about a month ago they are very co.parable to the fury line u might check them out. Quite a few options in the exage line as well there at that $99 price point not sure if bps carries them though either Another option is to buy the rod somewhere else and buy other things that I need with that money from the rod.
  10. I switched to stand bobber a few years ago on my fill rods best bobber I've ever used well slip bobber that is
  11. For 109 you can get a dobyns fury imho it's a better option..better warranty better customer service and 20 cheaper
  12. I use the ardent stuff it's pretty good but that's basing that on not using anything else. One guys said it's the worst so I guess I'll have to try something else since I thought it was decent
  13. Handers deals by me were a joke 10% off...last week before They were closing they had 20% off. No real good deals to be found here
  14. I have a dobyns champ extreme hp 742 I use it for Ned rigs shaky head drop shot weightless t rigs spybaiting senkos neko rigging pretty much anything finesse. Ya needless to say I love that rod
  15. Take a look at the dobyns fury, and shimano exage line of rods gonna be hard to beat Also if I'm throwing true weightless t rigs I'm using spinning gear
  16. But the lews they have better customer service plus I can get it at a local shop and support local business
  17. Ya he has a huge selection of those as well. He also pours his own tubes and sells them. He was a huge help the few times I've been there kinda weird place wen u walk in it's the pharmacy side then u walk through a little doorway and I r in megabass heaven lol from the bait side u can actually see him filling prescriptions and he'll come out and chat as the locals stop in
  18. Mike is a great guy. He's about an hour from my house and carries allot of colors other places dont, including megabass website.
  19. In my opinion allot of it will depend on where the water temp was before it dropped. The fish here seemed to hold close to the neds that were already there. Mostly smallies. The lm were still a little slow to move in but they were starting. Now keep in mind fish never seem to do what they are supposed to. I think if u go pre spawn u'll be ok. A buddy of mine just took first fishing a jerkbait on a lake here if the fiah arent whete u think they are move out five feet in depth the cold may make them spawn and hold a tad deeper
  20. Stanley ribbit, baby one minus, popper, small jerk bait ran with rod tip pointed at sky, or buzz bait
  21. Made it out yesterday to a local lake fish were biting decent. Managed 3 keeper bass but probably caught 30 the 3 keepers is farely good for the lake. Side note I was there for walleye and managed to cull a limit which was the first time ever for me. All on a vision 110 tried a crank bait a Ned and shaky head but they wouldn't touch it
  22. I've bought the racing version and slow float with no split ring usually they are in the old packaging...it wouldn't surprise me if someone was knocking them off the easiest way I've found to tell is the hash marks on the back /too half of lure
  23. You opened the flood gates for recommendations. You will find everyone has there favorites. I'm a lews guy and in that range old suggest anything tournament mb and up. I also just purchased my first daiwa tatula sv and it's slowly becoming a favorite of mine. It's a little above ur stated price but $20 is not much and well worth a look
  24. They can't order it lol that sounds fishy to me. Well I fish a mh exams and Ulf day it's spot in for power so depending on what u want it for the medium may be too light....if the sale is the only reason u are buying the rod u picked the wrong sport I'm all for saving money wen u can but 20 off a rod is no reason to buy what I don't want. I'm all for supporting ur local shop but if they carried a rod line and was missing the power I wanted them refused to order it in forme old start shopping else where. There is a local shop around me that's the same way and that's why they are going out of business
  25. Ya that's why I said have them order it for you. Shimano makes it in a mh... better to get what I want then settle for what they have. If they won't order it for you and still give you the same deal old find a new Tackle shop... it usually only takes a few days to get a rod in
