  1. Shimano aldebaron used a buddy and wat a reel. Little pricey but nice reel
  2. Sounds like the reel is not for me thanks guys
  3. Found a used alpha air at local shop for $120 What would something like this be used for it only holds 50 meters of line that doesn't seem like alot
  4. dsqui posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
I see allot of talk about rain gear but not so much about sun protection. I got my first case of sun poisoning this week end and am looking to invest in some good sun shorts and am wondering what everyone would suggest. I'm very warm blooded I get hot so I need something light and breathable I've got one gander special fishing short in short sleeve that I like just wondering how the long sleeves are like the Columbia pfg shirts. Or is there something better out there
  5. Switch it to the old view also try navionics web app
  6. Mink lake black lake silver lake Indian lake lake tammarack long lake pleasant lake ...google maps is your best friend when u own a kayak find a river follow it to where it opens up find a public lake on a river system and follow it u'll find places
  7. I prefer the 4 inch version. Not sure what weight I use as far as the jig goes. I've tried a couple jigs but prefer the jackal flick shake jigs
  8. What would u like to know about hurschtown. I know it get a pounded for as small as it is. It's not very deep it's clear not alot of structure. If u find a specific depth fish are holding stay there cause they will be there and I'm talking the difference of a foot is huge in h town. Are u in the fw area if so with a kayak there are some better options out there. You just might have to drive a little further
  9. For me it would be the fury. I have not handles the ok ima so this is solely based on availability around me. I have to handle the rod before i can buy it im veru picky about reel seats. On the rod that broke I know dobyns has very good customer service and a good warranty.
  10. Here is what I would use don't know how many bass have fallen for them while fishing for pike and musky you can order one or make one out of heavier line...https://www.muskyshop.com/sucker-rigs/
  11. I havnt handles any of them but I have heard good things about the lews david fritts rod
  12. Honestly at 80 you would be crazy not to save up 20 more and grab a dobyns fury right now from Tackle warehouse while the memorial sale is going on.
  13. Try less magnetic brakes and a touch more spool tension
  14. I've never found a need to use a neko specific hook. It's just a wacky rig with a nail weight so I use wacky hooks.
  15. Rugby heads are kind of a cross between a football and a ball head.you get great front to back motion like with a football but still get side to side motion like a ball head with less odds of dragging your bait on its side. I really like my one approved finesse rugby shaky heads in 1/8 &1/4 oz havnt really messed with anything heavier or swinging. Ild say determine your weight by the depth you are fishing I really don't go over 12' with what I have
  16. Webster lake. Talked to the dnr out there one day when they were shocking gettin info on the muskies guess they shocked up quite a few that broke the state record. With that said if not there then another public body of water. Pond fish don't weigh the same as lake fish do they just don't seem to have the mass of a fish caught out of a lake I believe do to the size of the body of water
  17. I fish a dobyns 742 extreme drop shotting walleye. I run 15 pp and about 8 sunline sniper floro. Man I love that rod
  18. Sunline sniper is a good option.i got introduced to sunline with gander brand floro which is made by sublime and held up very well it's about half the price.well same price just double the length. Since then I have switched to all sunline for my floro needs
  19. On clear calm days on my pond u find smaller buzzwords and poppers,or a Stanley ribbit to work very wrll. Also a t rigged weightless creature bait to try and resemble bluegill have definitely been good producers
  20. They have stained cork rings for making handles any idea how they do that
  21. Sometimes it's time to just well you know or get off the pot. If u aren't happy with it it's time to move on and cut your losses just be happy it's a reel and not a truck or boat
  22. I like my tat sv as much as the next guy but casting a mile is def an over statement
  23. Hmm thanks for the know how I'm still new to all the daiwa spools not very knowledgeable on it
  24. But it's still different from there standard magnetic brake no
  25. I personally have found a wrong way to fish them just wrong times.
