Honest question.... Does anyone know how and if they were paid before this year for the MLF cups? I don't think I have ever seen anything for that. I doubt that they were running all over the country just to hold up a trophy as the prize. Which obviously if they did cash checks for that then someone like KVD who had a bunch of success in the MLF cups/tv show would have earned alot more money.

I am really surprised that KVD has not even cashed a check this year. One thing my buddy and I have noticed at least in bucket A, it's pretty the same suspects that are up there almost every tourney so far.

And.... They are off! Andy Morgan and Jacob Wheeler are leading the pack...

On the water when I take someone with me, I leave spots that I know have fish on them so that they can have that opportunity to catch something. I had this one time where I had trolling motor issues and just sat in back of the boat and used the motor to putt around to make sure the guy with me had the chance to catch fish. Just small stuff but I always want the person I invite along to have a good time when they perhaps don't have that chance to go alot.

How bout the old.... Try to put the boat on trailer... Wham! Boat won't go on trailer. What the heck? Hey, I know, let's back up and do it again! Wham! ???? Little kid on the dock has to tell you that your trolling motor is down. And I knocked it off my mounts....?

Evers is just a machine this year so far. Plenty of big fish being caught in this tourney too ?

A few years ago my wife and I were walking along the docks at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson at the Marina. You could see a school of 5-6 inch baby swimming around in the shallows. Suddenly, a giant Bass came out of the deeper water and swallowed one of the little ones. Well the look on her face was priceless including the "OMG! They eat their own?" ?

I use a BPS Carbonlite medium 7 foot rod. (It's now paired with a Quantum Smoke S3, had way too many issues with the Carbonlite reels) I have great feel, I rarely miss a hook set... I am just really genuinely pleased with the rod for the price I got it for.

The last few years they usually come fairly quick. This year I sent it off, it's been 3 weeks and they have not cashed my check yet.

This may have been the hardest tournament to pick the anglers in all the years I have been playing this.

No he is talking about the Challenge Selects which started on TV this past Saturday. They are fishing on Lake Champlain which surprised me. There were quite a few largemouth being caught too. It was a pretty good display of all fishing techniques being used.

Takahiro nailing a 7 lb with 2 minutes left putting him into the championship round is what makes this awesome. It's alot like hitting a Grand slam with 2 outs in the bottom on the 9th with a 3-2 count facing Mariano Rivera

I went to a fishing seminar with my wife that Brent Chapman was giving. Much to my dismay half way thru the seminar Brent made the statement, "You don't need to spend money on expensive gear to go fishing...." I immediately responded "ixnay on the non expensiveay. Wifay sitting right here Brentay"

Just counted six 7lb fish caught already today and a 6. Kelly Jordan already over 41lb. North Carolina representing today ?

Just glad that the Championship round was pretty decent. The other rounds were a tad brutal with all the smaller fish being caught.

Back in the early 90's when I was in the Navy I had a warrant officer that would suddenly show up at my desk and tell me I was going fishing for a few days. And what that meant was literally 2-3 days on his boat and the only time you were allowed off the boat was if nature called. We ate on the boat, slept on the boat.... He was a pretty hard core Bass fishermen to say the least ?

Ok, for those all confused as to what is going on with the MLF and how are running things, they just kind of cleared it up. Trust me I was confused myself at times lol. There is 8 regular BPT tournaments thru the year. The top 30 point anglers from those tournaments will move on to their version of the BASS Angler of the Year called the Redcrest. That tourney will pay out 300,000 for the winner. After every two tournaments they will take the top 30 anglers to fish a cup tournament, which is basically this is now how they are going to incorporate the new format into the TV show. No more selects, just 4 cup events. The names of those events are now called the Challenge, Heritage, Patriot and Summit Cups. The results of these cups are going to be kept in the dark and you see it as the TV show the following year. Sorry if that sounded redundant .

Last tournament was my worst in 4 years. Not one guy made the 35 man cut. Ouch.....good chance there goes the boat lol Just a side note, my buddy asked MLF on Twitter about having fantasy fishing for next year. They responded they are working on it And plan to have it for next year.

I have money that says if Ike would have made the cut, then it would not be stupid or he would leave the BPT. It probably is a bad feeling that he got knocked out two times in a row at the cut line. But that's part of the game and honestly to me part of the excitement that things can change right down to the wire in MLF.

Picked up 4 of the new Strike King Red Craw Deep Diving squarebills at Academy last night on clearence for 2.48 each.
