  1. Ive caught wakebait fish from winter water temps in the 40s to summer water temps. They work!! These are big swimbait wakes!
  2. We do this with big saltwater plugs
  3. up here in the north east we don’t have shad. Hair jigs, jig heads/plastics and blades are my top. Fish slow on bottom. I know guys love Jerkbaits. i try and fish all winter. If I’m lucky, past few years have been good. No ice 30min plus south but go 45min-1hr west or north it’s locked up. I was getting bit on big and small swimbaits, ned rigs January and February in shallow. Hell I even got topwater fish in early February up here in MA
  4. Fishin Magician skid stick. Nice walking bait. Translucent color
  5. I love tying and hair jig fishing. I tie a lot of steelhead and salmon but last year was mh first time tying bass jigs. Had good days on them, but haven’t gotten a chance to use them for smallies. I did good fishing for largemouth in November water last year in shallow. One day fishing holes in the milfoil. Can’t wait to fish them on the new boat this fall and winter!
  6. Penn squadron is a killer rod. 40 bucks. Have caught many many fish on it, Lakers, pike, stripers blues, bass, catfish. Throws up to 1.5 ounce. But I’ve fished 2.5 on it. I have a penn battle 4000 on it. Honestly it gets fished everywhere I go. Salt or fresh!
  7. Nice smallies, good job gettin the W
  8. Check out real prey swimbaits. He makes a killer golden shiner. He is from Massachusetts. This bait is 7 inches, but he has baits to match a variety of local north east bait fish. From 4.5 inch to 10 inches. His 5 inch perch is killer, he can make them what ever color you want. A 5 Inch perch swimbait in golden shiner color would be awesome. I do well on that bait in the silver black back , in the early spring.
  9. I love tying. I tie a lot of steelhead, brown trout and salmon jigs. I started tying bass jigs last year. Nothing big but have caught some decent fish on them. One particular day last November, only thing they would bite. I use rabbit zonkers, marabou, raccoon, arctic fox and a combo of each. I just recently got a gray fox pelt from a friend really pumped to tie with it. I also tie in a trailer. Add saddle hackle, marabou or rabbit zonkers to make it look like a craw or minnow. But just a regular marabou body will work. You can get weird with it, hahaa, different color combos! Styles and material. Each material looks different in the water. Like a cross cut rabbit zonker puffs up, but the marabou trailer adds movement. It’s really fun
  10. I love them! Killer cold water bait, I tie my own for fall-spring cold water fishin. depends on what style you are using. If you’re vertical fishing then a 1/8 or 1/4 would be good. I fish them slowly on bottom. Cast out and slow twitch back. I’ve had good days this way. I never had electronics on my kayak. Also look at jig head styles. Ball head jig would be good for vertical jiggin, stand up jigs and other styles like that would be good for bottom fishin. I love natural colors. Browns, blacks and olives.
  11. Dog bone, go hit different ponds in the new boat
  12. Got out Friday afternoon/night, couple bass, 3 bass and a pickerel. Whopper plopper got it done. Drove around checking new spots after dark, 1st 2 were locked up solid with weeds, 3rd looked decent, no fish. Went to old faithful, water was super cloudy, didn’t fish. Hit a spot close by that I knew I’d get bit here, nothing big but always good for a couple fish. Got 2 chunky bass 2-3lbs on the buzz jet. Then hit another up the road, got a smallie on the buzz jet. only a handfull of bass for the trip but 2 good ones
  13. Went out beach shark fishing Monday, 8-midnight, we had a lot of bites. I almost got spooled on my rod, 500 yards of line. My rod only had 2 bite, rest of my buddies had better action. The each got one, 3 sharks landed, of course after my final buddy landed one, his first one, I had next rod, guess what, that’s when the fish stopped biting. Oh and I did a face plant on the d**n, rocks, I guess it just wasn’t my night. Bette luck next time check out the video on our YouTube channel, Eastcoast fishing adventures
  14. That’s a sandbar shark, aka brown shark. It was incredible, we went last night, slow night, 2 runs. No fish. nice fish buddy, I need a psycho gill or trout. I love that feeling of swimbaiting
  15. I may not fish as much as I used to. It’s trips like these that make my whole season. Caught my first ever shark. I am beyond excited. Such an amazing beautiful fish. I can’t wait to get back after it again. Oh and I caught a couple nice bass today today. Haven’t been bass fishing in months
  16. Fished with my buddy mark for the first time in months. We did well. We started off by having stripers jump off the dock. Lot of fish around. I landed 2 and missed a good fish on albie snaxs. We had a lot of halfassed hits and follows. We wanted to see how many different fished species we could catch. We started out In shallow 15-30 feet Drifting around different areas and bottom. We caught 2 fluke, bunch of winter flounder, a windowpane flounder, couple bergals, few skates, and a 25 inch striper on a hi lo rig with squid, that was a shock. We head out deep, 50-60 ish. Ended up with a bunch of bergals, few big one, bunch of cod, lot of shorts and one going a couple pounds, we caught a pollack and a big winter flounder. All my fish were caught a on a 4 foot freshwater bait caster, it was such an awesome day. All fish fought hard, on this setup.
  17. Tuna fishing was incredible on Saturday. Left dock at 1 am returned 7pm. 18 hour day. Finally got to hook up to my first tuna. All the other times I’ve gone out in the last 27 years of fishing never even hooked up. Bout d**n time I got to hook up and witness the pure epic adrenaline. This is my great white whale. We lost a giant on a spinning rod, it spooled us. We were cod fishing in 260 waiting for the 130s and 50s with live macks to take off. Nope. They wanted 16 ounce cod jigs on bottom. Also hooked up on my cod setup, my fin-nor lethal high speed reel and an ugly stick cod rod. Wasn’t expecting to hook into a tuna on a 16 ounce Norwegian cod jig on bottom . Sadly we lost that, that clip broke, wasn’t trying for tuna. Glad to know I could land a small tuna on my cod setup. We had it close to the boat, no color tho. I need to get my first tuna badly now, the tuna bug is real! Hopefully I don’t have to wait another 5 years for my next tuna trip
  18. Been doing some striper fishin not much. Getting a couple decent schoolies. Nothing big.
  19. No I haven’t, I’ve heard there’s giants. I’m not a good carp fishermen, so I like smaller ponds to fish. With carp you have to chum heavily. Most guys will chum days and weeks before they go fishing. Bring the carp to the area. Then fish. But all the carp spots are at least 1hr 15 min away so that’s out of the question.
  20. It’s a waiting game but they are a blast. They fight so hard
  21. Did some carp fishing today. Got 2, 4lb mirror and this 8.5lb common. My new PB wooooo. Also got a new species. Super stoked, got my first green sunfish! PSA WHEN CARP FISHING MAKE SURE THE BAIL IS OPENED!!!!! I recast, put rod down, I let me guard down, stopped paying Attention. It was Slow no hits. Well I forgot to flip the bail. Rod went BYE BYE. So I’m like I don't understand oh well **** happens. I rig up my other rod for carp after trying to snag the rod. So 45min-1 hour later I see this fish jumping. So I cast out. wait wait wait, nothing, I reel in to check the bait. I snag the rod and the fish is still attached. So I ended up getting my rod back and landed this beautiful mirror
  22. RI is stopping people from out of state, they’ll pull you over if you got a Ma plate
