  1. Haven’t been back since I caught my 6.9 smallie there. That was 2016
  2. I’ve caught many birds in the salt. Some from taking the lure or bait others from flying into the line during the blitz. It happens, part of fishing.
  3. That’s awesome! I love tying. I tie my own steelhead, panfish and bass jigs
  4. Wow that’s a big bass. Alway knew there was big bass there but always thought it was a tough pond to fish
  5. You’ll be surprised about how many places have Crawfish
  6. You got it bud! Looking forward to it
  7. whopper ploppere are awesome. Great for windy days. 90’is a killer smallie lure. The 130 is deadly on largemouth. I was fly fishin for trout with dry flies. Had 2-3lb bass come up and hit the small dry fly on the surface. Didn’t land it but it was a shock in a small pool of a small river Keep fishin. Topwater is one of my most favorite and successful techniques. It makes up most of my fishing especially in the warmer months. Spooks, jitterbug style baits, and wake baits. 3 inch bait or a 10 inch bait, they work. Keep fishing. Try fishing near structures like logs and Lilly pads. They’ll come out and hit hard. Also night fishing will help you. I mainly fish them slow with pauses. Topwater works for every species, from small trout to tuna.
  8. Cape is best chance for open water. Only spot north of the bridge is long pond. got a nice little brookie yesterday.
  9. Went out testing new swimbaits yesterday. Found enough open water to cast. Brought a jerkbait rod just in case. Got one little bass. I’m pumped!
  10. I’ve caught some big fish fishing the musky 8 inch jitter bugs like the poppa chubby and walking boss during the day. It looks like an injured squirrel or bird that fell off a tree when you start reeling
  11. It’s a Livingston walking boss II. Great bait. Tons of rattles. This fish was caught on a windy night during the pause. also check out lemires plug works. He makes a 3inch and 5 inch saltwater jitterbug baits. All wood, through wire baits.
  12. I throw the giant 8’inch musky jitterbugs at night.
  13. Thank you. There’s a lot more thread there then what the eye and fish can see. Always trying to learn and get better at tying.
  14. Tried trout for an hour after work at long pond. Open water. Saw a bait guy get a small rainbow. No other fish caught
  15. Been tying my own. It’s addicting. i love olive, black. And brown. Trying out some different color combos and different materials. A rabbit zonker strip for trailer and a marabou body have been working well. Been tying on lead free bass jigs freestyle ball head and damiki head. Also Been tying on a ned rig jig head.
  16. Bingo. Some place may look good but can’t support a good fishery. Maybe water is to acidic. Who knows
  17. Most of my big fish are on ponds less then 20 acres, I’ve caught a ton of 5-6lbs fish and maybe 2 7s from 2 different ponds, 1 is 5 acres and the other is 11 acres. My Pb 7.8 lbs is from the 11 acre. My buddy has caught a few 8lbs fish from ponds less then 20 acres. Each pond has good food. The 11 acre pond is 30 feet deep. where I live there’s 100s of small ponds. Most are good some are only full of small fish. There’s a recipe for having big bass. Good food, like golden shiners, herring and trout, but you also need good water. ponds on a river system are usually good. good food, and good water, maybe shallow but usually good fishin
  18. I love fishing big wake baits, like the 9 inch ms slammer, my most productive colors for the 9 inch slammer, are solid colors. Black, white, chartreuse, purple, red. I do fish other colors of the slammers as well. A black buzz jet, white G2 shell cracker. The Matt lures, meathead and strong shad I own are shad colors, but they get crushed.
  19. Let’s here some crazy stories. Crazy way you caught fish. Crazy things you caught. i caught a pair of sunglasses.I caught an umbrella. fishing rods with fish on them a few times. An ice trap with a fish on it, my own fault. some one explain how I caught these pickerel. That’s an 8 inch spook with a TA clip. The fish was caught on the TA RP with braid wrapped around the pickerels mouth. Don’t understand how this happens
  20. I have not, I’ll check em out. Thank you
  21. Yea I’ve been talking to him. He’s my go to for larger jigs
