  1. As deep as you want. I’ve done well fishing a 1/2 ounce chatter bait on bottom at night. In 10 ish feet of water. Fishin like a jig. I would use a 3/4 if you want to get deep fishing ledges. A 1/2 ounce you could fish shallow and deep.
  2. It’s really depends on where I’m fishing. Some places, deep and clear I fish tube, jigs, texas rig and small swimbaits or topwaters on 8-10llbs floro. Other places that are still very clear but are shallow and weedy. Big swimbaits, jigs, texas rigs and big topwater on braid, 20lb mono or 20lbs floro. I fish a lot of clear water.
  3. Only prop bait I use is the whopper plopper but I do love some baits with props on them, like an 8 inch jointed wooden musky jitterbug with a prop or the buzz jet
  4. Before I go fishing, I have a game plan. I have an idea of what I have done well on in the ponds I’m fishing that day. Or have an idea of what has worked for me in places like that, if I’m fishing a new pond. I have a pond I’ve done very well on Jigs, tubes, t rig soft plastics and small swimbaits. That place is deep and clear so floro is the way to go. If I’m fishing shallow weedy ponds clear or stained. I wouldn’t be fishing a tube, or small swimbaits. I’d bring the braid rods or fish a large swimbait! also depends on season as well.
  5. A small black popper. Don’t pop em. Just twitch
  6. Switch up trailers !!!

  18. I remember sticking a 6.6 one afternoon in September years ago. I just got out of work had to pickup my sister from school so I hit a pond quickly That was super close by. Trying out my new Zman og chatter bait I got at Walmart, cast over blow down, it gets smoked. Missed it, cast back again gets smoked again. Now the fish is on. I couldn’t land the fish so I got took my work shoes and rolled up my pants. I was in a uniform, waded out in muck and weeds to land the fish.
  19. I’d fish a swimbait. There’s days when I can’t get bit on conventional baits, but I’d throw a 6-9 inch swimbait and start getting bit.
  20. Only 2 would be a t Rig and a jig. I’ve caught some nice fish in muddy or stained water on chatterbaits fishing it like a jig
  21. Talking to some swimbait guys, they’ve caught some real big bass on wake baits at ice out
  22. Lot of people think topwater are only for warm water. You’d be surprised. I’ve caught some nice fish in early spring on wake baits in shallow. It makes sense, fishing a small pond or shallow water. The water warms up quickly. Your fishing rivht over their heads. They won’t pass up on an easy meal
  23. What are some memorable bycatches you’ve caught in a tournie or fun fishing?
  24. Water temps can’t be more then 45. It hasn’t been warm out. I was ice fishing a pond 5 miles away last week. It’s been 20s and 30s out of the past few weeks
