  1. Been getting some good stripers! No keepers yet but fat schoolies! Got my first skate of the year as well!
  2. Hope you all had a great long weekend! I fished hard on Saturday! Left my house at 230 am. Got home at 1130pm. Total tally for the day between the 3 of us! 14lbs mirror carp. 2 brown trout, 1 rainbow, few bass, few bluegills, 2 shad, couple white catfish. Biggest white cat was 5.6lbs, bunch of eels, a white perch, and many laughs! Great long day on the water. We traveled many miles.
  3. Big swimbait. Soft bait on bottom. Hard bait on top! One of my favorites is the Livingston lure walking boss. It’s a giant jitterbug with rattles and a noise system. Windy days and nights! Cast out and let it sit! Or cast out reel in slow then kill the bait and let it sit! The rattles will still keep going but the bait won’t move
  4. I love night fishin! Such a different world after dark! I get more quality fish after dark! But it’s different some places are better after dark some places are better during the day!
  5. Went out tog fishing today! We got a bunch, lot of short fish! We got a few big females full of eggs so we let them go! Kept 3 fish! I got to bring home one! Grilled it up! Came out amazing! I love fresh seafood in catch!
  6. I never tried them here! How deep would you fish a jerkbaits Yea I plan on doin that with small craw baits
  7. Makes sense! There’s a lot of deep water. Not much shallow cover. I usually fish drop offs and stay deeper fishing edges! But there’s a few off shore humps
  8. I’ve fished the rage craw, lobster, space monkey, senkos, muzzle destroyer and d bomb. All largemouth!
  9. No tournies or big boats on this place! Car tops only! I love it!
  10. I have a pond with a mix of smallies and largemouth. Both fat and healthy but I can only get bit by smallies in 2 baits! A tube and drop shot. Also blades in winter. Everything else I use, I catch largemouth. Jigs, small swimbaits, and Texas rigs during the day. At night Texas rig, spinnerbaits, wake baits chatterbaits and Texas rig. They love bottom crawling baits. They feed heavily on craws but also has a ton of bait fish. Like white and yellow perch! I never tried power fishing this place. This place has a healthy population of both! Fat and big! I find it odd that I only catch smallies on 2 lures! Even in the same spots as largemouth. Back when we first started fishing here we would get more smallies then largemouth.
  11. Find a choke point! The bass will sit there and wait for a school of herring to pass through making it easier to grab a herring They are either suckers or shad! Both are spawning as well
  12. Go to lead free bass jigs! Made in MA! Lead free, great price. Sticky sharp hooks! I was using eagle claw tube jigs but they are cheap and sucked! I kept missing fish on em!
  13. Strike king coffee tubes nuff said! Love it! Got a lot of good fish on it in the spring Weedless weightless Flukes and Texas rig craws!
  14. Got out yesterday for some smallie and largemouth action! Got a hanfull of smallies and one brick largemouth! Lost a big fish up shallow! Fish were on drop offs and up shallow. Tubes were the ticket for smallies. That’s what I missed the big fish on. Few hits on a Texas rig. Got the brick largemouth on a weedless swimbait up shallow in some weeds! All fish were fat and pregnant! The smallies were fighting good! Biggest fish was a smallie a hair under 3lbs
  15. @MassYak85 check out bico jigs, local Ma company! I love them! Different style of head them
  16. Hmmm good question! I’d say mid May is when you can expect to get good action!
  17. Got my first striper of the year yesterday! It’s game on!
  18. Didn’t get out much this weekend! Bruins game Friday! Did some fishing Saturday after I got back from Boston. My swimbait got DESTROYED! Fish hit with force! Set hook nothing! Felt no fish! IDK what happened! I did manage a 3.5er on a smash tech weedless shad!
  19. I’m going after work Thursday and Friday! I think these fronts will get the bass active
  20. My Pb smallie 6.9 was on a whopper plopper in 55 degree water over a spawning flat! Only bait that really worked after 10 hours of no fish! Switched it up to the WP 90 slayed them!
  21. Yep I’m in that sMe boat! I can’t get on a good bite
  22. Since the bass fishin is a crap shoot, I decided to try for some new species! Friday night went out after some white cats! My very first ones. We caught 6 each! A big eel, small bullhead and a yella perch! Im very happy! Saturday went to Rhode Island for some bass and to chase the ellusive stocked trout! We fished one pond early! I caught some dink pickerel and a few perch! Chatters, jigs, Ned rig, small swimbaits, and rattle trap! No bass! So we decided to hit a trout pond! I really wanted to catch my first golden rainbow trout! I forget the other name for it! We fished here for a bit. Tried for bass and trout! We got one golden trout each on chartreuse trout crack! I got 2 bows! 1 super small and another decent size one! My buddy got a small bow! Super pumped to catch a golden rainbow! Very happy! We grabbed lunch! Then hit another pond for bass. I got a dink right off the bat on a spinner bait! My buddy got 2 dinks on a shell cracker. Went for a night mission got skunked! Got out today on the yak to one of my favorites! 3 small 2lbs smallies! Lost a big fish! All on tubes fished along drop offs to spawning flats. Fished slow, they would pick it up off the bottom! Missed a few good fish! Tough bite! Very happy to catch 2 new species. Cross these off the bucket list! Now if the bass could start biting for me that would great
  23. I LLLLLOOOOVVVVEEEE STRIPERS!!!!!! I live in MA, get them off my backyard all summer long. Fishing 10lbs braid with topwaters is so fun. Casting along the saltmarshes at high tide. Watching a school of stripers follow and smash your plug. It gets aggravating though but gets your blood pumping, watching a striper hit your plug or swirl behind it 3 or 4 times.
  24. people are shocked when they are fishing senkos and I come walking up with an 8 inch swimbait.
  25. telling ya, if its stocked heavily with trout there are some big bass. I have a pond stocked to the BRIM with trout. If you fish a regular style bass gear, texas rig, drop shot, crank baits, you'll catch a mess of dink bass. But I can tell you there are GIANTS here. Fish a swimbait. You may not crush it every time but you will get a giant bass. hell you may not get a bite for a month straight but when you do it very well could be your PB I live in MA we have cold long winters, but I know theres a 10 in this place. My buddy told me he seen a 10 plus there, legit biggest bass hes ever seen. Hes caught a few 8s and 9s in MA.
