  1. im going back to Upstate NY next weekend, wish i could join ya
  2. got out last night! had many hits at spot one. handful of small fish, biggest 2.5ish most fish were on the slammer. had most hits on a different wake bait but couldnt connect. hit a trout spot close by. lot of fish rising. had a hit and caught a brown trout on a 4 inch wake bait. wasnt really prepared for trout but said screw it why not! glad i did
  3. depends on my mood and where im fishing! if its pain to get to, requiring a drag of the kayak into the woods, which it usually is, then i fish it longer. if its a new pond i stay a while to. the problem is usually fish swimbaits and jigs so bites dont happen alot but when they are do they are quality fish. if im shore pounding then ill travel around. in the winter when im bored ill drive around for the day looking for new access to ponds. also depends on the feel on the pond sometimes ill get that vibe it aint worth staying. another issue is, with my kayak i can only fish 2 rods, so i dont switch my baits much. also have another spot! bites arent often but they are good quality fish!
  4. got out tuesday night! tried for crappies with a slip bobber and variety of lures, only crappie i caught was going after bass! on a mission for a 2lber. caught lengthy 1lbser on a mega bass iloud, a loud 4inch topwater, killer night bait. had a few hits while using the bobber but they werent bitting the lures on the bobber its self. caught a nice chunky bass on a big swimbait. had few hits and thats it! my buddy caught a 4lber on a slammer, my fish was 3.2
  5. got a nice 3lber on a swimbait last night the air temp was about 43 and breezy, my buddy caught a 4lber same area on a swimbait. we were in a cove protected from the wind, shallow cove with dying lily pads and some downed trees. had a few other hits as well
  6. go night fishing! up here in MA we are having a warm fall to! but been getting them at night when i have gone out, i mainly fish jigs and swimbaits!
  7. just got back from my trip up north! it was tough fishing mostly because the kid we took up was a pain in the arse and wouldnt listen to us, he kept running in the water, spooking fish, cross over lines, or try and snag fish. we didnt get any steelhead or browns like we wanted to. i hooked into a big steelie, lost the fish at the net. hooked and lost some big king salmon, was using 8lb floro carbon for trout so i was a little out matched for a 20lb fish. i landed a few kings. biggest was 31lbs on a 10lb floro. all in all we didnt get skunked and fishing was tougher then normal for me and my buddy. i can safely say that kid wont be coming up on this trip again!
  8. awesome!! if i dont get any smallies im sure the panfish and trout will keep my busy
  9. yea thats what i figured it was!! small jigs! so with bobber stop can go through the guides when fishing deep water??
  10. any tips for float and fly smallies?? i would like to try this out this winter. strangely i enjoy coldwater smallie fishing with light line and blade baits, i want to add the float and fly to my coldwater arsenal. i have a ton of floats i use for salmon and steelie fishing, and long 8 foot super light rods with light line like 8lb floro. so i think this is a good setup for float fishing smallies
  11. i was to hungover sunday to get out
  12. that'a boy. ive goten skunked plenty of times with swimbaits. but like you said its mental game. ive been bass fishing for 24 years now. i've caught countless 1-3lbser. i wanted to up the average size and that what swimbaits do. i still get small fish on them! i got a 1lber on a 9 inch slammer the other day. just like with anything fishing, your catch rates will increase when you figure swimbaits out, like colors, the retrieve, what lures to use and when to use them. then you have ponds where youll get better action swimbaits then other spots, i dont know why. but thats what i have found. got a spot where youll catch all dinks on conventional gear but since i started swimbaiting here, ill get 5 plus fish
  13. got out yesterday afternoon into the night, only had 2 hits! fishing the big baits, so not surprised i got skunked, but the weather was perfect for a good bite. one hit was on a 9 inch chartreuse slammer and another on the hudd 68

  23. mr aquarium! nice ring to it! i like it!! went out last night! started out at a heavily stocked trout pond, tossed a hudd nightstalker 68, had 2 good hits jiggin it on bottom. saw some trout rise. fished another trout spot didnt get any action. went to pond 3 had a few good hits and caught a 2.10lber on a fishing magician skid stick midnight color. then went to old faithful. been awhile since ive been there! had a few good hits on the washed ashore rat. got a 2.5 on it slow twitched. fished the Ms slammer and caught a slab crappie. few more hits, then hit the dam, caught a 4.7 on the mega bass iloud slow twitched near some pads
  24. got out saturday all day!! wanted to go for trout and salmon. lot of guys at the spot, didnt get much action, went to the river to check for water levels! low but im not surprised. caught some small salmon parr, perch, fall fish and common shiners. the common shiners had red fins, the salmon were so beautiful!!! wanted to try to break my goal of a 10lbs carp, saw a buddy trout fishing he gave me a good carp spot. talked to few buddies on facebook and they gave me all i needed to know. caught some sunnies, a bass, 2 carp 5lbs or so. saw ton of carp, spooked a few big ones, had some nice runs. a bait strips. also caught a small bullhead. nice day out caught a huge variety of fish, ahh the power of the night crawler
