  1. YOUR GOING TO LOVE THEM!!!!!!!! fished 3 ponds yesterday evening, new spot, newer pond and a pond i do ok at. my buddy was with me who doesnt fish! so i had to call it quits early cuz he wanted to watch football. didnt get to the pond i originally planned, which i do well at, but traffic sucked so we said screw it new spot! ZERO FISH!!! one hit at the newer pond. zero fish at the other 2
  2. wow that sucks!!! the saltwater fishing picked right back up again
  3. that sucks!! we only get nor'esters and tropical storms! high winds heavy rain but nothing like that! most waters stay clear maybe a little murkiness. the harbor i live on gets really murky after heavy rains and the saltwater fishing gets tough
  4. @DogBone_384 very nice to meet you buddy. how did you do? when i got back to the car i get a phone call from a buddy, the stripers and blues are going nuts. i hauled ass back home jumped in the boat. slayed the stripers! all light tackle topwater fish!
  5. its awesome, few different patterns to fish. if largemouth aint bitting then switch to smallies. lots of place around are like that
  6. i went out yesterday morning. lots of surface activity. fish busting schools of perch fry in shallow water. i didnt haven any topwaters with me. i caught a little smallie on a texas rig senko. missed a few nice fish. a big fish broke me off. got a call saying that saltwater fishing is on fire with fish blitzing, hauled ass home, jumped on the boat with my buddy and smoked the stripers!
  7. aint that the truth! wish it wasnt just on sunday monday and thursday still gona get out tho! id rather get skunked on the water then stuck home. goin sunday for a pre sunrise trip, hoping they'll bite big topwaters. if not ill sweet talk em with some plastics, luckily this water is always clear and theres no run off or creeks all ground water. the water shouldnt get to murky
  8. yea good luck with that!! i got lucky with mine! you need a sacrifice to the gods, and a miracle in that order.
  9. in stained water im sure theres crays but a black blue or black jigs works very well! i havent done to much searching on crayfish in my area. but one lake ii found with a heavy cray population , its green pumpking with hints of black! idk what kind they are but thats what i match for texas rig and jigs
  10. yea thats what i figured as much.
  11. so up here in MA we have been dealing with tropical storm Jose. its been blowing 25 plus since tuesday with a mix of dry and heavy rain periods. today was the worst of the rain. how does something like this effect fishing? will they stop feeding during the storm. hows the fishing after the storm. i always hear about cold fronts in the spring but what about change of season like summer to fall
  12. yup here in MA, i fish anything from super clear to tannic tea colored water!
  13. makes perfect sense! thank man! i love this site, so much useful info
  14. i fish stained water mostly!! the shoreline is clear for a few feet then it gets dark. i know the exact water clarity your fishing, my favorite waters! black blue jigs are my favorite color, black is my second favorite! crawl that **** on bottom when its colder!! caught some very large fish on that in cold water!
  15. thats really smart about that trout! so doing what the prominent bait fish is doing. LOTS AND LOTS of perch. both whites and yellows!
  16. ive caught many bass, i love bass fishing and fish alot of big swimbaits! i do alot of flipping and pitching. shallow ponds heavy cover is what im used to! im trying to work on my deeper water skills like dragging football jigs, c-rigs and big cranks. i love love love fishing slow on bottom with plastics and jigs or up top with big baits, so im trying to beef it up a bit and try a bit deeper for larger bass. this one particular pond i cant break 5lbs in, but i know theres big bass here, ive seen em, ive hooked them, i think the big bass hang out deeper then the rest of the bass. rather its on a 10 foot flat or the humps. yea man ive fished here a few times! the only problem is its a car top boats only, i fish in a yak most of the time so getting my big john boat out there is a hassle. we have to go through another pond down a canal then drag it over a hill to get to it. so its a real pain to get to. its ALWAYS windy out there! so staying on a spot for a while to thoroughly fish it is a Challenge. ive been told by a few people where they have seen big bass and have caught them! so i will target those areas more.
  17. the pond is a big pond! thank god theres no powerboats allowed. 292 acre pond,3 basins, its a big round pond, the basins are separated by a flat the runs the whole lake. the flat is about 10 feet deep with grass on it. one basin is 30 feet deep, the smaller one, the middle size basin is 40, the big main lake basin is 50 feet. the 40 and 30 foot basins are separated by an island with a very shallow point. at the end of the point is 20 foot drop into a small channel that connects the 2 small basins.
  18. The pond is 50 feet 292 acres with 3 basins! Structure consists of weeds, mussel beds, rocks, trees, humps, flats, points ledges.
  19. yea i fish in MA my entire life! very few lakes around here have an alewife population, unless they are seasonal spring run. the main forage is perch, trout, shiners, sunfish. then you get some fish like banded killies which are heavily populated down on the cape.
  20. i have a pond with big bass, i think the stay deeper then the average size bass! both smallies and largmouth. i love plastics jigs and swimbaits! so im thinking about beefing up my texas rigs, getting down deep with larger then average plastics! l like 7 inch senkos and zoom flukes. big craw and creature baits. has anyone fished deep with larger then average plastics? i know big worms work great out deep. any suggestions what time of year is best? like i know the habits of bass. but i think theres always one or 2 big big bass that hang out deeper!
  21. night fishing in the fall can be insane! my buddy from maine caught a 7.9lb largemouth on halloween last year! in northern maine! i was getting bass at night up untill december with ice freezing to the rod, i was in southern MA
  22. went out pike fishing saturday! caught my first pike. we fished our ***** off. at the launch i had a big hit, missed it, get out to the spot. 15 min bam my first ever pike. small 5lber. so happy. 15 min my buddy gets an 8. we fish the area for a while, i cast out a glide bait and see a monster following it. turned away, next cast same spot. BAMMMM fish on. fight it. huge fish 15lber! so happy! we continue to fish this area. i kept getting follows or hits at the boat. i miss one spit hook at the boat cuz the net was messed up, it was a small guy. my buddy missed a huge pike. bad hoook set. it was a great day. so happy to cross off pike on my bucket list
  23. went out over the weekend fished hard. 4 am drove west 1.5 hrs, caught my first landlocked. also caught a big rainbow to. came back home cuz my buddy had to work. took a nap, and we went back out after some bowfin. we had a few hits, i caught a nice eel. while bowfin fishing, we get a call, my buddy asked us to go tuna fishing on sunday. HELL YES!!!!! drive to the cape at 5 am after fishing till 11pm. we get out there catch some huge 3lbs mackerel. tough bite out there, we hooked up but it broke off, we caught a ton of dog fish, mackerel, a cod and a pollack. we saw whales, sharks and an ocean sunfish. it was awesome. monday my buddy wanted to fish the canal. hes never been there before. tough bite. we saw some bait, some mackerel and peanut bunker, saw an ocean sunfish. i caught a lobster. went back to the canal yesterday. tough bite. caught another lobster.
  24. Smoked the fish last night! It was epic! My buddy got the biggest! 27lbs 43 inch fish! I can't upload pics from my phone! Says the pictures are 2 big!
